kali-rolling still ships libbrotli 1.2.0-4; node, curl and python3 in the
sandbox all load the shared libbrotlidec, so a malicious Content-Encoding: br
response would hit the vulnerable decoder. Install Debian's fixed 1.2.0-4.1
packages over Kali's and fail the build if the version is not applied.
Since 99c0711 the API route follows the model's catalog entry, not
LLM_API_BASE, so the doc saying a custom base URL defaults to chat
completions was out of date.
Quickstart, providers overview and docs index show GLM-5.3 through Vercel AI Gateway and OpenRouter side by side, Vercel first. Model ids across the provider pages move to the current releases, including DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017, and the OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini pages note the Daybreak, CVP and Fairwind access programs. Docs only, README unchanged.
Closes STR-1686
* feat(llm): extra request-body fields via LLM_EXTRA_BODY
Some provider parameters, such as OpenAI's service_tier and
safety_identifier, are read only from the request body, so
LLM_EXTRA_HEADERS can't set them. LLM_EXTRA_BODY merges a JSON object
into the body of every request to the configured model, on both routing
paths. A dedicated dedupe model gets its own DEDUPE_LLM_EXTRA_BODY
instead, as with headers.
* fix(config): decode saved JSON-object settings when loading
persist_current() saves env values verbatim, so LLM_EXTRA_HEADERS,
LLM_EXTRA_BODY and their DEDUPE_ variants land in cli-config.json as JSON
text. The loader passed that text unchanged to the dict fields, so a later
launch without the env var failed validation. Decode saved strings for
dict fields, as pydantic-settings does for env vars.

docker.from_env() ignores the current docker context, so Docker Desktop on
macOS (socket under ~/.docker/run unless the default-socket option is on),
OrbStack and Colima reported DOCKER NOT AVAILABLE while `docker ps` worked.
Every failure also printed the same "ensure Docker Desktop is running" text
followed by a RuntimeError traceback.
- resolve the endpoint as the CLI does: DOCKER_HOST, then DOCKER_CONTEXT or
the current context, then the default socket; the sandbox backend uses the
same resolution so startup and scan talk to the same daemon
- classify the SDK error (socket missing, permission denied, connection
refused, Windows named pipe) and print the fix for the current platform,
the endpoint that was tried and the underlying error
- exit 1 cleanly instead of raising after the panel
- telemetry reports docker_unavailable_<reason>
Without a tty on stdin and stdout (CI, nohup, pipes, cron, TERM=dumb) the Go
TUI handshakes fine and then exits 1 the moment Bubble Tea tries to take over
the screen. Because the backend was already activated, that exit escaped the
pre-activation mapping and surfaced as a raw traceback:
RuntimeError: Bubble Tea TUI exited with status 1.
Now main() checks for a terminal right after argument parsing. With a target
it switches to the headless path (same as -n) and prints one dim notice.
Without a target the start screen is the only way to enter one, so it prints
a panel telling the user to pass -t <target> -n and exits 1. A bare --resume
is left to the picker, which already lists runs when there is no terminal.
If the sidecar still dies after startup, check_return_code raises
TuiProcessExitedError, run_tui maps it to InteractiveInterfaceExitedError,
and main() prints an INTERACTIVE INTERFACE STOPPED panel with the -n hint
under its own telemetry name instead of re-raising.
The warm-up request used settings.llm.timeout (LLM_TIMEOUT, 300s) both as
the request timeout and the wait_for bound, so a wrong LLM_API_BASE or a
dead proxy hung five minutes and then printed an empty Error line.
Add LlmSettings.preflight_timeout (LLM_PREFLIGHT_TIMEOUT, default 30) and
a shared preflight_request() used for the main and dedupe models. When it
expires the panel names the model, the limit and the setting.
A stopped run with no findings already exits 0, so skipping the threshold
only when low findings exist made the gate depend on the wrong thing.
The threshold now always applies; reporting an unfinished run is a separate
exit-code concern.
Extra files (knowledge trees, workspace files) reached the docker sandbox as
per-file read-only bind mounts whose parent directories docker created as
root, so the sandbox user could neither edit them nor create siblings. They
now travel as one tar archive uploaded after bring-up and unpacked as the
sandbox user, on every backend.
* Add api_type field to LlmSettings
Added 'api_type' field to LlmSettings for API path selection.
* Refactor API type handling in models.py

Add Vercel AI Gateway as an LLM provider option, mirroring the existing
provider pages. New guide, an overview card, and a nav entry after
OpenRouter. Docs only.
Add Claude Fable 5.1, Gemini 3.7 Flash, and Z.ai GLM-5.3 / GLM-5.3-Flash
to RECOMMENDED_MODEL_NAMES, add a Z.ai GLM frontier family so GLM-5.x is
accepted through OpenRouter and Novita routes, and drop the superseded
GPT-5.4, GPT-5.3-codex, Opus 4.8, Sonnet 4.6, Gemini 3.6 Flash, and
Qwen3.7 entries. Update the README, docs provider pages, quickstart, and
CLI hint strings to the same current models, including DeepSeek V4,
Kimi K3, and GLM-5.3.

- Remove --mount from two skills: the flag does not exist in the CLI. Local
paths are mounted writable when passed with -t.
- Document --target-list, --scope-mode, --diff-base, and OpenAPI/Postman
targets, so agents stop putting spec URLs in --instruction prose.
- Add the application-security-testing skill as the entry point for
whole-product AppSec requests, routing each asset to the right workflow.
- Drop contractions and Latin abbreviations across the skill prose.
* add extra-files plumbing so orchestrators can drop single files into the sandbox workspace
* reject extra-file paths that collide with a local source tree
* add --workspace-file so CLI users can place files in the sandbox workspace
* reject repeated and control-character workspace paths

* drop the workspace-file size limit
The Exit Codes table in the CLI reference only listed 0 and 2, but the
CLI also exits with 1 on fatal errors (missing environment variables,
Docker unavailable, invalid config file, diff-scope resolution failure,
or an unhandled exception). It also implied exit 0 means no
vulnerabilities were found, which is only true in headless mode -
interactive runs always exit 0 regardless of findings.
Document exit code 1 and clarify the two cases for exit 0.
* feat: add bedrock + vertex optional extras with install docs and import hints (#574)
Declare [project.optional-dependencies] with vertex (google-auth) and
bedrock (boto3) extras so "strix-agent[vertex]" / "strix-agent[bedrock]"
install the provider SDKs. Add an Installation section to the Bedrock docs
mirroring Vertex, and a _provider_import_hint helper in warm_up_llm that
surfaces a pip-install hint when a provider dependency is missing.
Fixes#574, #573

* fix(providers): use pipx in install hint to match docs
A pipx-installed strix can't add an extra with 'pip install' (wrong env);
mirror the documented 'pipx install "strix-agent[...]"' command. Addresses
Greptile review.
* fix: resolve pre-commit check failures
- Change RuntimeError to TypeError for type validation in report/writer.py
- Update pyupgrade to v3.21.2 for Python 3.14 compatibility
* chore: add pytest test infrastructure
Mirror the layout introduced on feature/438-token_budget: pytest +
pytest-asyncio dev deps, asyncio_mode auto, a tests.* mypy override, and
pytest in the mypy pre-commit hook deps so the tests/ package type-checks.
* feat: add --mount and large-target pre-flight for local repos (#492)
Large local targets were copied into the sandbox file-by-file via the SDK
LocalDir entry, which stalls on big repos and could leave /workspace empty.
- --mount <path> bind-mounts a host directory read-only at /workspace/<subdir>
instead of copying it, bypassing the per-file stream.
- A size pre-flight (STRIX_MAX_LOCAL_COPY_MB, default 1024) fails fast with a
clear message suggesting --mount when a non-mounted local target is too big.
* fix: reject empty --mount paths
An empty or whitespace-only --mount value resolves to the current working
directory and would silently bind-mount it into the sandbox. Reject it.
* fix: dedupe local targets so a dir is never both copied and mounted
If the same directory is passed via --target and --mount (or as duplicate
values), it previously produced two targets — copied AND bind-mounted, and
the copied one could trip the size pre-flight. Dedupe by resolved path,
preferring the bind mount.
* fix: treat non-positive STRIX_MAX_LOCAL_COPY_MB as disabled
Previously a value of 0 (or negative) made every local target count as
oversized, aborting all local scans. Now <= 0 disables the pre-flight.
* fix: log unreadable subtrees during size pre-flight
os.walk silently swallowed directory-listing errors, so a permission-denied
subtree could make a large repo under-count and slip past the pre-flight.
Surface such omissions via an onerror warning.
* docs: document --mount and STRIX_MAX_LOCAL_COPY_MB
Add CLI reference + example for --mount, document the size pre-flight env var,
note the read-only-is-not-a-hard-boundary caveat and that remote repos are not
size-checked, and clarify the backends docstring on when bind mounts apply.
* Update strix/interface/main.py
* Update strix/runtime/docker_client.py
