From 22dcc2fabf37c5639dcac7fe56877e339ecb174c Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: oyasumi Date: Tue, 21 Jul 2026 07:25:57 +0000 Subject: [PATCH] fix(verification): send verifier credential per call Provider env vars are global, so installing the verification key via the environment either clobbered or was clobbered by the primary key when both used the same provider (setdefault only fills missing vars). Pass the verification key as a per-call api_key in model_settings.extra_args instead, in both the runtime path and startup warm-up, so a separate-provider verifier authenticates correctly and warm-up no longer fails before the key exists. --- strix/interface/main.py | 9 +++++++- strix/report/verification.py | 34 ++++++++++++++++++++++-------- tests/test_finding_verification.py | 19 +++++++++++++++++ 3 files changed, 52 insertions(+), 10 deletions(-) diff --git a/strix/interface/main.py b/strix/interface/main.py index cd63f37c..c9a03928 100644 --- a/strix/interface/main.py +++ b/strix/interface/main.py @@ -356,11 +356,18 @@ async def warm_up_llm(show_model_warning: bool = True) -> None: verification_model = settings.verification.model.strip() raw_model = verification_model verifier = StrixProvider().get_model(verification_model) + verifier_settings = ModelSettings() + if settings.verification.api_key and settings.verification.api_key.strip(): + # Match the runtime path: send the verification key per call so a + # separate-provider verifier authenticates during warm-up too. + verifier_settings = ModelSettings( + extra_args={"api_key": settings.verification.api_key.strip()} + ) await asyncio.wait_for( verifier.get_response( system_instructions="You are a helpful assistant.", input="Reply with just 'OK'.", - model_settings=ModelSettings(), + model_settings=verifier_settings, tools=[], output_schema=None, handoffs=[], diff --git a/strix/report/verification.py b/strix/report/verification.py index 322bb591..34153118 100644 --- a/strix/report/verification.py +++ b/strix/report/verification.py @@ -7,6 +7,7 @@ import logging from datetime import UTC, datetime from typing import TYPE_CHECKING, Any +from agents.model_settings import ModelSettings from agents.models.interface import ModelTracing from openai.types.responses import ResponseOutputMessage @@ -19,6 +20,29 @@ from strix.report.state import get_global_report_state if TYPE_CHECKING: from agents.items import ModelResponse + from strix.config.settings import FindingVerificationSettings + + +def _verifier_model_settings( + verification: FindingVerificationSettings, model_name: str +) -> ModelSettings: + """Build verifier model settings, sending the verification key per call. + + Provider env vars are global, so a shared-provider verification key can't be + installed via the environment without clobbering (or being clobbered by) the + primary key.
