fix(logging): log spend once for large non-streaming requests on the chat to Responses bridge (#44508)
* fix(logging): claim the async success dedup flag before the first await Nested @client wrappers on the chat -> Responses bridge schedule two async success tasks on one logging object. The dedup flag was checked at the top of _async_success_handler_body but only set after several awaits; the worker-thread base64 offload for messages >= 256 KiB yields there, so the second task passed the same check and the request was logged twice (two SpendLogs rows, key/team/daily spend counted twice). Fixes #44500 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(logging): serialise async success handlers per logging object instead of claiming early Claiming the dedup flag before the first await (previous commit) let a first handler that is cancelled before its callbacks run (e.g. by the logging worker's per-coroutine timeout) suppress the second one, losing the request's success accounting. Serialise non-streaming handlers on the same Logging object with an asyncio.Lock kept in a module-level WeakKeyDictionary: the second handler waits, then skips if the first logged, or logs itself if the first raised or was cancelled first. Streaming chunk logging is not locked. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(integration): pin one spend row and one key charge for large bridged chat completions Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(integration): wait for the large request's spend row before asserting Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(logging): use fixed timestamps in async success dedup tests Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * style(logging): trim the async success dedup lock comment Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(logging): reset background interaction dedupe under the success dedup lock Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(logging): use a fixed start time in the interactions logging helper Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix: claim the async success log at schedule time instead of locking the handler Nested @client wrappers (chat over the Responses bridge, Anthropic Messages over the chat adapter) exit with one shared Logging object and each queued their own async success handler. The handler checked has_logged_async_success before its awaited work and set it after, so both could pass the check and the request was logged and billed twice. _schedule_async_success_logging now claims the log on the Logging object synchronously through claim_async_success_log, and a later wrapper returns without enqueuing. There is no await between the check and the decision, so no lock is needed. The per-object asyncio.Lock, the WeakKeyDictionary that held it and the locked block in async_log_background_interaction_completion are gone. Tests: the regression test moves to tests/unit/test_utils.py and drives two _dispatch_success_logging exits with one Logging object through the logging worker, asserting one log with the inner result. It fails without the claim. The cancelled-handler test is dropped since a second wrapper no longer retries. The background interaction completion test stays. Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(logging): pin the background completion event order and name the innermost wrapper in the claim docstrings Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(integration): send one bridged request and assert the inner Responses result is the logged one Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: kerry <kerry@berri.ai> Co-authored-by: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(lens): price agent traces by joining gen_ai.response.id to spend logs (#44738)
* fix(lens): price agent traces by joining gen_ai.response.id to spend logs Trace spend now joins each model call to spend_logs on one key: the span's response id (gen_ai.response.id or the id the normalizers read from OpenInference/LangChain output) against spend_logs.response_id or the upstream id embedded in a managed resp_ id. The litellm.call_id and traceparent transport join paths and the per-row ownership gate are removed; the spend SQL still restricts rows to what the reader can see. A run with some unpriced calls now reports the sum of its priced calls plus priced_calls, instead of an unknown total. * test(lens): cover response id spend join and partial trace totals * chore(lens): regenerate trace types for priced_calls * feat(lens): show partial run cost as a lower bound with priced call count * fix(lens): treat litellm.call_id as the same assigned call id for spend joins The id LiteLLM assigned to a call is either the response id it returned (gen_ai.response.id -> spend_logs.response_id) or its gateway call id (litellm.call_id -> spend_logs.litellm_call_id). Both are exact ids the gateway mints and logs, so the join stays one rule. Transport span matching and the ownership gate stay removed. * test(lens): cover litellm.call_id spend joins and restore captured totals * feat(lens): link each priced model call to its spend log Spans gain spend_log_request_id, the spend_logs.request_id the call was priced from, and spend_match, which says whether a model call matched or why not (no assigned id on the span, no spend log with that id, or an ambiguous match). A model call span is priced from the same ids as the run total, so its cost and the total agree. * test(lens): cover spend log links on model call spans * chore(lens): regenerate trace types for spend log links * feat(lens): open the matched spend log from an LLM step An LLM step's header now shows a Spend log chip with the matched request id and cost; clicking it opens the request log drawer over the run, fetched by the exact spend_logs.request_id instead of the span's own response id. Unpriced steps say why (no assigned id on the span, or no spend log with it). Tree rows show each model call's cost, and a partial run cost shows its priced call count inline. * test(lens): cover the spend log link and unmatched cost reasons * feat(lens): show the spend log link as a bordered LiteLLM Spend Log button * feat(lens): add a back link from the spend log drawer to the agent trace * feat(lens): label the spend log back link Back to Lens trace with the Lens icon * fix(lens): ignore assigned ids that name no spend log when pricing a call An id that names no row no longer vetoes the call, so a span carrying both a response id and a call id still prices from a spend row logged before litellm_call_id existed. An id naming two or more rows makes the call ambiguous, and the match reason comes from the same per-id result, so a single matched row with no cost is reported as matched. * fix(lens): price a trace only from spend logs in its own team A reader with several teams could see the same assigned id in another team's spend log; only rows from the trace's team now price it. The user and key ownership gate stays removed. * perf(lens): resolve each model call's spend once per trace Model call matches are computed once when the trace is resolved and looked up by span index, instead of scanning the model call list for every span and walking the graph again for spans, agents and the run total. * fix(lens): hide a step's Cost fact only when its spend log link shows the cost * chore(lens): drop narrative doc comments from the spend join * fix(lens): price a model call only when its ids agree on one spend log per span * fix(lens): keep pricing spend logs written before litellm_call_id by their request id * fix(lens): price every attempt a model call's ids name when they agree |

fix(vertex_ai): apply regional endpoint uplift on image generation cost path (#44679)
* fix(vertex_ai): apply regional endpoint uplift on image generation cost path completion_cost had vertex_location but never passed it to the image generation cost router, so a regional_endpoint_uplift_multiplier on a Vertex image row would be ignored. feat(anthropic): workload identity federation and pluggable identity sources (#44448)
* feat(anthropic): workload identity federation and pluggable identity sources Backend half of #38818 (internal copy of the fork PR #38013), rebuilt as one commit on top of litellm_internal_staging without the dashboard changes. Deployments on anthropic/ without a static api_key can exchange an OIDC workload assertion for a short-lived sk-ant-oat01 token through a shared RFC 7523 JWT-bearer engine. The assertion comes from a mounted token file, an env token, a LiteLLM-signed issuer, or Keycloak, chosen per deployment, per named credential, or through ANTHROPIC_IDENTITY_SOURCE. The federation fields are server-owned: refused inline in request bodies and on POST /model/new, proxy-admin only on credentials, and the token exchange is pinned to api.anthropic.com unless LITELLM_ANTHROPIC_WIF_ALLOWED_HOSTS adds a host. GET /credentials/{name}/jwks exports the public key set of a LiteLLM-signed credential for the Claude Console. The OpenAI federation trio from #39613 rides along on the backend side with the same server-owned handling. Fixes #28607 Resolves LIT-6107 Co-authored-by: derhornspieler <15236687+derhornspieler@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(anthropic): let batch-result downloads mint from deployment params and accept host:port allowlist entries The files handler enabled workload identity on batch-result downloads but never received the deployment's litellm_params, so a deployment authenticating through a named credential could only mint from process-wide env vars. It now threads litellm_params through to the auth header the way the batch retrieve path already does. LITELLM_ANTHROPIC_WIF_ALLOWED_HOSTS entries written as host:port were read by urlsplit as a scheme, so the allowlist kept the raw entry while the exchange compared bare hostnames and refused the gateway. Entries are now parsed as network locations whether or not they carry a scheme. * fix(types): move the WIF kwargs key sets to a leaf module so the kwargs funnel imports without a cycle * test(anthropic): pin case-insensitive matching of WIF exchange-host allowlist entries * fix(anthropic): end workload identity federation errors without a period so the router suffix reads cleanly * fix(proxy): decrypt stored litellm_params before the WIF write gate * fix(proxy): hide WIF secret references from /health output * fix(proxy): keep the proxy error shape on credential endpoint refusals * fix(proxy): hide identity token file paths from /health output * fix(anthropic): rename the federation workspace param so Bedrock's anthropic_workspace_id keeps working The Bedrock Claude Platform route already reads anthropic_workspace_id from optional_params, so banning that spelling as a server-owned federation parameter broke a pre-existing client capability. The federation field is now anthropic_federation_workspace_id (env ANTHROPIC_FEDERATION_WORKSPACE_ID), which restores the base branch's behavior for Bedrock callers, drops the Bedrock-specific hint from the refusal message, and deletes the unconditional ban constant that no longer had a reader * fix(auth): share one exchanged token across workers reading the same assertion Anthropic accepts each identity assertion exactly once, so two uvicorn workers reading the same token file both minting from it means the second exchange is denied with jti_reused. Minted tokens now land in a per-user 0700 cache directory guarded by a file lock, so workers on the same host reuse one exchange until the token expires or the assertion rotates. A 401 is only retried when the re-read assertion actually differs, and the denial hint explains jti_reused. LITELLM_TOKEN_EXCHANGE_CACHE_DIR moves the cache and an empty value disables it * fix: keep anthropic federation from being shadowed or leaked An empty or whitespace-only ANTHROPIC_API_KEY counted as set, so a federated deployment sent an empty x-api-key on every call instead of minting a token. Blank values now read as unset, and a real static key on a federated deployment logs once that it outranks federation and nothing is being federated. The exchange-host allowlist matched hostnames only, so a second process on another port of an allowed host was trusted with the workload's identity token. An entry that names a port now trusts that port alone, while a bare host still trusts every port. The shared token store exists so the workers reading one projected token file do not each spend its single-use jti. A source that mints its own assertion per exchange shares nothing with another worker, so it no longer writes a live token to disk for a lookup that can never hit. * fix: unlink a staged token file a failed write leaves behind The 401 denial hint now also says federation ignores ANTHROPIC_WORKSPACE_ID, which the Bedrock Claude platform provider already reads. * refactor: move anthropic jwks derivation behind a provider-owned tagged union * fix: unlink the staged token file when its write fails at close A buffered write only reaches the disk when the handle closes, so a full disk surfaces at close and left the staging file behind holding a usable token. * fix(anthropic): close the staging descriptor before writing the shared token file * fix(wif): judge federation writes by what they set, not what is stored The admin gate read the stored deployment, so a team admin lost edit, delete and Test Connection on any deployment carrying federation params. It now returns early unless the submitted fields touch the federation surface, and a Test Connection probe that points the deployment at its own api_base is still refused, with the 403 no longer wrapped into a 500 The rest of the same review pass: POST /model/new refuses only a blocking value of `blocked`, so a client that always sends `blocked: false` is not turned away; a request body can no longer pick which federated identity to mint as by naming a stored credential; an advisory refresh the executor refuses disarms the entry instead of wedging the identity until the follower timeout; the static-key shadow warning resolves its env fallback inside the cache instead of once per request; credential writes drop nulls before storing them; the token exchange validates the endpoint URL before reading an assertion and keeps refusing redirects across a client heal; /health hides every server-owned federation field from non-admins; and the async create_file and create_batch paths say which setting is missing when the provider resolves no URL * fix(proxy): let a deployment write name a federated credential reject_federated_credential_reference runs from is_request_body_safe, which pre_db_read_auth_checks calls on every route, so it also fired on POST /model/new, /model/update, /model/{id}/update and /health/test_connection. A proxy admin could no longer attach a federated credential to a deployment over the API or the Admin UI, leaving a static config.yaml entry as the only way to configure the feature the rejection told the caller to go configure, and _reject_non_admin_wif_write never got to make the call it exists to make. is_request_body_safe now takes the route and skips only the credential-reference check on the routes that reach can_user_make_model_call. Federation fields typed inline into a body stay refused everywhere, and a call naming a federated credential still cannot pick the identity it mints as. * refactor(proxy): derive health display policy from the federation key sets The health check module hand-copied the five workload identity fields whose value is a credential, so a shared proxy surface named provider-specific parameters and a newly added secret-bearing field would have gone on being displayed until someone remembered both places WIF_SECRET_BEARING_KEYS now sits beside the key sets it splits out of, types/utils derives secret_bearing_wif_litellm_params from it, and the health layer splats that tuple the same way it already splats the admin-only one * fix(anthropic_wif): treat blank identity-source fields as unset * test(proxy): classify the federation params in the credential slot registry main's registry test (#43298) now fails the build for any credential-named deployment param without a classification. The five federation fields that carry a token, a token file path, or a signing or client secret reference are Unplanted, matching WIF_SECRET_BEARING_KEYS; the four remaining Keycloak settings name a URL, a client id, an auth method, or a scope and are NotSecret * fix(anthropic_wif): declare federation params as owned connection leaves and chart their metrics Register the 18 Anthropic and 3 OpenAI federation params as frozen ConnectionSettings leaves so the owned-kwarg registry, the kwargs funnel and the request-body ban list read one declaration. Pass the deployment api_base through to the count-tokens handler instead of a pre-suffixed URL, which doubled the /count_tokens path on main's prompt-cache predictor. Add the five litellm_anthropic_wif_* families to the all-metrics Grafana dashboard. * fix(credentials): gate PATCH on WIF fields resolved from model_id The credential PATCH handler checked server-owned workload identity federation fields only on the values the caller sent, while a body that named a deployment through model_id had its credential values resolved after that check. A non-admin could therefore copy a federated deployment's WIF fields onto an ordinary credential. Resolve the incoming values first and run the non-admin gate on them, matching the POST path * fix(anthropic): count tokens with ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN through the shared auth header Count-tokens walked its own credential ladder: a static key, else skip minting when ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN is set, else mint a federated token. With only the auth token set it forwarded nothing and the proxy silently fell back to its local tokenizer while chat on the same deployment authenticated with that token. The handler now takes the auth header that AnthropicModelInfo.aget_auth_header resolves, the same ladder chat, files, batches and skills use, and merges the oauth beta a minted or consumer token carries with the token-counting beta --------- Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: derhornspieler <15236687+derhornspieler@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <happymvw@gmail.com> |

fix(health): probe Bedrock Mantle Claude deployments over the Anthropic Messages API (#44419)
* fix(health): probe Bedrock Mantle Claude deployments over the Anthropic Messages API Bedrock Mantle serves Claude ids only on /anthropic/v1/messages, but health checks probed every chat-mode deployment over /v1/chat/completions, so a bedrock_mantle Claude deployment showed unhealthy while real /v1/messages traffic to it succeeded Add an anthropic_messages health check mode and make it the default for bedrock_mantle Claude models. An explicit model_info.mode still wins, and /health/test_connection and the Add Model form accept the new mode * fix(health): resolve the test connection mode from the deployment when the request omits it The Admin UI model page sent the mode /model/info had filled in from the cost map back as the probe mode, so Test Connection on a Bedrock Mantle Claude deployment still went over chat completions. The page now forwards only the row's id, and /health/test_connection resolves a missing mode the way /health does: the stored model_info.mode, then the mode the provider requires, then the cost map. * fix(health): resolve an omitted ahealth_check mode the way the proxy does * fix(health): test connection honors a stored mode only for the stored model and rejects a non-string mode A request that selects a stored deployment and sends a different litellm_params.model now resolves the probe mode from that model instead of the stored model_info.mode. A litellm_params.mode that is not a string answers 400 instead of 500. The Bedrock Mantle rule that Claude models are probed over the Messages API moves into the provider package. * fix(health): shape test connection probe params for the model the request probes A request that selects a stored deployment by id and overrides the model resolved its probe mode from the overridden model but still injected max_tokens from the stored mode, so an embedding override of an anthropic_messages deployment failed with a Mistral 422 extra_forbidden * fix(health): report an early ahealth_check failure as itself, not as a missing mode With the mode resolved automatically when the caller omits it, a failure before that resolution (no model, a non-string model, a provider that does not resolve) was wrapped as "Missing mode", a hint that pointed at the wrong fix and dropped raw_request_typed_dict from the result. Every failure now returns the same shape. --------- Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> |

feat(decisions): add unified /v1/decisions endpoint for Jev-compatible providers (#44236)
* feat(decisions): add unified /v1/decisions endpoint for Jev-compatible providers Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(decisions): register typesafe as a provider so Jev deployments load Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(decisions): move provider endpoints under llms and validate proxy bodies Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(decisions): add Cloudflare Clef and Strands Decider backends Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(decisions): register decisions routes for managed agents and gateway Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(decisions): use raw regex for cloudflare missing account match Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(decisions): avoid cast in Cloudflare response unwrapping Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(decisions): default model, evaluation health probe, short Cloudflare names The proxy validates only state and questions, so a request without a model falls through to the configured default model like every other route. Health checks probe evaluation-mode deployments through the Decisions API instead of failing with an unsupported mode, and cloudflare/clef and cloudflare/clef-flash get cost-map rows so the short names resolve a mode and a price. The registry no longer claims typed decisions for a provider with no backend. * fix(decisions): let health_check_params override the evaluation probe Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(integration): audit the decisions endpoint across providers, limits, health and chaos Adds the /v1/decisions audit cells: one wire contract per provider (path, key, body and cost-map billing), the gateway-only fields and tags, the sad paths (invalid bodies, unknown model, key checks, api_base in the body, upstream 401/429/500, a 200 without answers, an unreachable upstream), the two evaluation-mode health probes, and three chaos cells (a mixed-failure burst over both routes, a worker SIGKILL mid-burst, an upstream outage and restart on the same port). The PR's cost case read the upstream observations through the gateway, which answers 404 for that path; it now reads them from the upstream URL. The owned proxy harness takes extra CLI arguments, and its graceful stop waits as long as a worker boot may take, since a worker still starting honors SIGTERM only once it is up and the 30 second wait forced a cleanup under load. * fix(decisions): send env API keys to a configured api_base Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(decisions): add zero-cost evaluation cost-map entry for Strands Decider Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(decisions): register the routes through the lazy feature registry The Decisions router was included at import, ahead of the config and DB pass-through endpoints, so a pass-through configured at /v1/decisions was skipped and answered 400 as an unknown Decisions provider. The routes now register through LAZY_FEATURES, which splices them in after every eager route, so a pass-through at /v1/decisions keeps its route while /decisions still serves natively. The lazy OpenAPI snapshot carries the two paths so the schema shows them before the first call. The audit cells add the env-key egress to a configured api_base, the client api_base opt-in shared with chat, the pass-through precedence on an owned proxy, and the Strands evaluation health check resolved from the cost map. The integration config exports the Perplexity env key the first cell needs. * fix(decisions): keep the Cloudflare api_base message in its transformation and read the audit upstream once per cell * fix(proxy): let a config pass-through beat a lazily registered route in eager mode With LITELLM_DISABLE_LAZY_ROUTES set the decisions routes are registered at startup, so SafeRouteAdder treated a config pass-through at exactly /v1/decisions as already registered and dropped it. In lazy mode a pass-through created through the API after the first native call was skipped the same way. Routes a lazy feature owns no longer count as registered, and a route added at one of their paths is placed ahead of them, the precedence lazy mode gives a config pass-through when the feature has not loaded yet. --------- Co-authored-by: mateo <mateo@berri.ai> Co-authored-by: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> |

perf(proxy): stop prompt-cache eligibility from tokenizing the whole conversation (#44221)
is_prompt_caching_valid_prompt ran the full Python token_counter over every message to compare against the deployment's prompt cache minimum, 500 to 1000 ms at 440k to 740k tokens on every request that reaches the prompt_caching pre-call check, Rust on or off. messages_reach_token_count does the same arithmetic as token_counter(...) >= threshold and stops at the first message that reaches the threshold. Groups with one healthy deployment skip the prefix hash and pin lookup, which cannot change the result for them Four fixed name span events make the pre-LLM phases measurable with OTel v2: litellm.request.body_received (with body_bytes) once per body read before parsing, on the JSON, binary and form branches, body_parsed, pre_call_completed, and deployment_selected emitted once per pick inside Router.async_get_available_deployment and get_available_deployment with attempt, reason and model group, so every router surface, retry and fallback is covered. Measured locally on /v1/chat/completions, /v1/messages and /v1/responses at 440k tokens with Rust on and off against a fake upstream Co-authored-by: yassin <yassin@berri.ai> Co-authored-by: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(streaming): keep the finish_reason of the provider's last content chunk in the logged response (#44318)
* fix(streaming): keep the finish_reason of the provider's last content chunk in the logged response When a provider sends the last content or tool-call delta and the finish_reason in one chunk (vLLM does this when speculative decoding finishes a reply in one step), the wrapper strips the finish_reason from that chunk and re-emits it on a terminal chunk from finish_reason_handler(). The terminal chunk reached the caller but was never added to self.chunks, so the response built for callbacks and SpendLogs defaulted to finish_reason "stop": tool calls and replies truncated by max_tokens were logged as plain stops. Append the terminal chunk in both the sync and async end-of-stream paths. * fix(streaming): only log the terminal chunk when the provider sent a finish_reason Review feedback: when a stream ends before any finish_reason arrives (e.g. an Anthropic stream cut after message_start), finish_reason_handler() synthesizes "stop"; adding that chunk to self.chunks made the response builder take the placeholder usage instead of estimating it. Append the terminal chunk only when received_finish_reason or intermittent_finish_reason is set, and test that case. --------- Co-authored-by: joeym82956 <244252723+joeym82956@users.noreply.github.com> |

feat(bedrock): serve gpt-5.6+ chat completions natively by default, with chat_completions/ opt-in for gpt-oss and grok (#44307)
* feat(bedrock): send grok chat completions through runtime openai path Unspecified bedrock grok was rewritten to Converse. Chat completions now hit bedrock-runtime /openai/v1/chat/completions, and converse/ still uses Converse * feat(bedrock): serve gpt-oss and gpt-5.6 chat completions on runtime's native openai path * fix(bedrock): route gpt-oss response_format to Converse and decide the route once from the raw request * fix(bedrock): serve region-path and GovCloud gpt-oss ids on native Chat Completions The cost-map parity tests require every regional variant of a flagged id to carry the same supports_ flags, so the six us-gov gpt-oss entries now carry the native-route flags too. A region path in the model name (bedrock/us-gov-west-1/openai.gpt-oss-20b-1:0) is routing, not a different model: the route is looked up on the id after the path, the path's region picks the endpoint and the SigV4 scope, an explicit aws_region_name still wins, and the body carries the bare id AWS expects * fix(bedrock): keep params AWS refuses natively off the chat completions route Drop the params each family 400s or 503s on runtime Chat Completions from the native config's supported list (GPT-5.6 penalties, stop, and logprobs, Grok penalties, gpt-oss logit_bias) so drop_params drops them as Converse did, gate legacy functions on GPT-5.6 the same way as tools, and send an Anthropic-style thinking block to Converse, the only route that forwards it * fix(bedrock): keep schema-less json_object on Converse for the chat completions models * fix(bedrock): keep every json_object response_format on Converse for the chat completions models * fix(rust): declare the bedrock runtime chat completions flags on ModelInfo * fix(bedrock): opt into the native chat completions route through supported_endpoints * docs(cost-map): describe the bedrock native chat completions capability flags * revert: docs(cost-map): describe the bedrock native chat completions capability flags This reverts commit |

feat(bedrock): drop lookaround regex patterns from tool schemas for Converse models that reject them (#44138)
* feat(bedrock): drop lookaround regex patterns from tool schemas for Converse models that reject them * fix(bedrock): rename the lookaround flag to supports_regex_lookaround and keep dropped patternProperties names allowed The cost-map flag becomes a generic supports_regex_lookaround capability, which the cost-map schema admits as a supports_* boolean, and the Converse transform now owns the drop decision instead of the shared tools factory. A patternProperties key dropped from an object closed by additionalProperties: false leaves its value schema as that object's additionalProperties, so the names it allowed stay allowed, on the OpenAI non-Python-regex drop too. tool_with_sanitized_parameters also cleans Anthropic-shape tools (input_schema). * fix(router): keep a deployment's supports_regex_lookaround off the shared cost-map entry A deployment's model_info.supports_regex_lookaround was written to the shared bedrock/<model> cost-map key, so every sibling deployment of that model id inherited one deployment's choice. The flag now stays under the deployment's own id, which is what the Converse lookaround check reads first, and the shared entry keeps the cost map's value * test(bedrock): audit the Converse lookaround drop on the wire across endpoints, SDKs, flags and chaos --------- Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> |

test: repair stale and polluting tests red on scheduled main CI (#44229)
* test(proxy): stop the proxy_server app fixture leaking LITELLM_LOG The session app fixture set LITELLM_LOG=ERROR with os.environ.setdefault and never removed it, so later tests on the same xdist worker inherited it. test_drop_params_env_var spawns a subprocess with os.environ and lost the warning it asserts on. Scope the variable to the import with a MonkeyPatch context * test(secret-detection): give the hand-built redaction request an ASGI path Since #43975 _read_request_body checks the route path via request.scope, and a scope without path raised KeyError that was swallowed into an empty body, so chat_completion failed with a missing messages parameter. Real ASGI scopes always carry path * test(integration): isolate litellm callback lists per sdk test usage-based-routing-v2 Routers register their selector in litellm.callbacks and nothing removes it, not even Router.reset(). The counter TTL and Redis service metrics tests left their selectors behind, and the next usage routing test ran their pre-call checks against its own rpm=1 deployments, raising "Deployment over defined rpm limit". An autouse fixture now gives each sdk test copies of the callback lists and restores the originals afterwards * test(integration): keep the owner-lookup fault proxy off the shared read replica The owned proxy points DATABASE_URL at a scratch database but inherited DATABASE_URL_READ_REPLICA from the replica job, so auth read the shared database and rejected the freshly created key with token_not_found_in_db. Drop the replica variable like the other scratch-database owned proxies * test(integration): request every seeded key in the team owner breakdown The aggregated team activity endpoint now caps breakdown.api_keys at the top 100 keys by default (#43398), so the 300 seeded keys came back as 100 rows. The test guarantees each key is reported with its own owner, so ask for an api_key_limit that covers all seeded keys * test(integration): give every owned Redis its own port in the redis-cache container On CircleCI every owned Redis ran on the fixed port 16379 inside the shared redis-cache container. When an earlier server still held that port, the new one failed to bind, readiness pinged the old server, the pidfile read failed and cleanup then reported "Owned Redis still serves after shutdown" Reserve an ephemeral port for the docker-exec path the same way the local binary path already does, and refuse to start when something already serves the chosen port so the failure names the real cause * test(e2e): skip the Vertex Mistral partner case the e2e project cannot reach The e2e Vertex project gets a 404 publisher model not found for vertex_ai/mistral-small-2503, so the case can only fail * test(e2e): skip the Vertex gpt-oss partner case the e2e project never serves vertex_ai/openai/gpt-oss-120b-maas has hit a 60s read timeout with no response headers on every run in the e2e Vertex project since the case was ported, and no other Vertex partner chat model passes there to switch to * test(e2e): check only stored message content for a leaked card number The Presidio spend-log check ran the card-number pattern over the whole serialized response, so a Luhn-valid usage.cost float (0.0003466000000000001) failed the streaming /v1/messages case although the stored content was <CREDIT_CARD>. The check now reads the content and text strings of the stored response, which is where a raw card would land, and still requires the placeholder there * test(e2e): assert the proxy decodes token-array embeddings for titan The port in #44120 carried over a legacy SDK-direct test that expected Bedrock to reject token ids with a 400. Through the proxy, /embeddings decodes token arrays to text for providers that cannot embed tokens, so titan answers 200. The test now sends a token array and its decoded sentence and requires the two vectors to match, which fails if the proxy stops decoding or decodes with the wrong tokenizer * test(e2e): run the Bedrock extended-thinking round trip on a model that honors enabled thinking us.anthropic.claude-sonnet-5-5 is adaptive-only, so litellm sends thinking.type=enabled with a 1024 budget as adaptive with low effort, and Bedrock returned no reasoning blocks on 5 of 5 identical Converse calls (boto3 direct agreed). us.anthropic.claude-sonnet-4-6 accepts the legacy shape verbatim and returned reasoning on 5 of 5. The non-thinking Bedrock case stays on sonnet-5-5 * test(proxy): stop unit modules forcing DEBUG logging into the event-loop lag tests Five tests/unit modules set verbose_proxy_logger to DEBUG at import, so every xdist worker that collected them logged the 2.4MB pass-through response from a worker thread, and secret redaction of that line held the GIL for ~0.8s+ inside the timed window. The lag tests now pin the LiteLLM loggers to WARNING and freeze gc while timing, and the module-level DEBUG overrides are removed * test(e2e): cite the tokenizer and date behind the titan token-array fixture * test(e2e): let migration seed replicas finish their request-log indexes before cloning Since #43948 a serving proxy builds the two LiteLLM_SpendLogs indexes on a background thread after it reports ready. The seed fixtures stopped the replica at readiness, so every cloned legacy database lacked an index no real deployment would be missing, and the v2 baseline diff refused it. Seeds now wait until both indexes exist and are valid in the database's schema * test(passthrough): give the pass-through MockRequest an httpx URL and ASGI scope #43626 made get_request_route read request.scope during pass-through kwarg setup; the MockRequest in tests/unit/passthrough had neither a scope nor a URL object, so both stream-param tests raised before reaching the code they check. Mirrors the repair #43626 made to the tests/pass_through_unit_tests fake * test(integration): ignore foreign allow_all_keys MCP servers in the access matrix tool list test_toolset_gateway_url_serves_a_team_granted_toolset_to_a_key_without_its_own_grant (#43908) registers an allow_all_keys server on the shared gateway, and allow_all_keys servers are listed to every key by design, so a matrix case running on another xdist worker at the same time saw its tools. The matrix now drops tools of allow_all_keys servers it did not create, read from LiteLLM_MCPServerTable before and after listing, and still compares everything else exactly |

fix(bedrock): accept Converse messages with no content key (#43936)
* fix(bedrock): accept Converse messages with no content key A user or tool message whose content key is missing (or null, which the message cleanup strips) made every Bedrock Converse request fail with APIConnectionError 'content' before reaching Bedrock. The Converse transform now reads content with .get for those messages, as it already did for assistant messages: a content-less user message adds no block and a content-less tool message becomes a toolResult with empty content. The str branch also sends the continue message text instead of the original whitespace-only text. * fix(bedrock): send the continue message for a content-less user turn * test(bedrock): type the content-less Converse message test parameters * fix(bedrock): accept a Converse system message with no content key * refactor(bedrock): read the system message content with get * test(integration): audit Bedrock Converse messages without content Adds the /audit cells for a chat message whose content key is missing or null on a Converse-routed Bedrock deployment: happy, sad, edge, and chaos rows through the OpenAI SDK, the Anthropic SDK, and raw httpx against the scripted upstream, asserting the caller's response, the body the peer received, and the spend row. The owned-proxy readiness deadline in the integration harness is now INTEGRATION_PROXY_READY_SECONDS (default 70). * test(integration): bound stray spend rows in the mid-burst restart cell --------- Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> |

test(ci): repair stale tests and flaky CI infrastructure (#43983)
* test(ci): add used_client_oauth_token to the GCS pub/sub spend-log golden #43063 stamps used_client_oauth_token into spend-log metadata, so test_async_gcs_pub_sub_v1 failed on main with an extra metadata key * test(ui): give the auto-router threshold save wait room for the availability debounce #42625 keeps Save disabled while a 300ms-debounced availability check runs. This test waits for Save right after the change, so the whole debounce lands inside waitFor's 1s default and it times out under CI load. It is the recurring UI Unit Tests failure on main since #42625 landed * test(e2e): expect no pricing tier on bills for streamed calls OpenAI served at default #42870 added both the rule that a served default or standard tier bills at base pricing and records no service_tier, and streamed tests expecting the row to record 'default'. They have failed on every scheduled litellm-e2e run since. The tests now map the served tier to the pricing basis the bill must record and check input is billed at that basis's rate; the messages case registers custom rates so the rate check has something to compare against * test(e2e-ui): wait for the call-id search before hovering the logs row The row the spec hovers is already on the unfiltered first page, so it was found before the search request returned. The search response then re-rendered the table under the mouse, and the Base UI tooltip never opened. Reproduced with Playwright against a local proxy: hovering right after the fill never shows the tooltip, hovering after the search response shows the call id every time * test(e2e): run the Together structured-output case on the hybrid Qwen with reasoning off The case picked the cheapest Together row flagged supports_response_schema. DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 hit its cost-map deprecation date on 2026-09-29, so the pick moved to GLM-5.3-Flash, a reasoning-only model that spends the 1024-token budget thinking and returns content=None. Qwen3.5-9B is the pinned hybrid model the reasoning_effort=none case already exercises, and Together lists it with structured output support * test(integration): read the agent 365 guardrail status by its own name in spend logs The MCP shard runs under xdist against one database, and a sibling file creates a default_on pre_mcp_call content filter there. The owned proxy reloads DB guardrails, so that filter's 'success' entry could land first in guardrail_information and the test read it instead of the agent 365 verdict * test(unit): ignore asyncio's leaked-task records in the budget limiter push-failure log check gc.collect() inside the caplog window can collect a pending task an earlier test left on a closed loop, and asyncio logs 'Task was destroyed but it is pending' into this test's records. The check still counts every LiteLLM logger, and unretrieved task exceptions on this loop still go through the asserted exception handler * test(e2e-ui): fill the create-tag fields inside the dialog #42949 added 'Filter by tag name' and 'Filter by description' inputs to the Tag Management page, so page-wide getByLabel('Tag Name') and getByLabel('Description') match two elements and Playwright's strict mode fails the create step * test(integration): run integration proxies with the CI license Multi-worker proxies start each uvicorn worker in a fresh process, so every worker reads the license from its environment. Forward LITELLM_LICENSE into the proxy and test runner environments * ci: save GitHub Actions caches only from main and bump codecov-action to 5.5.5 Every pull request saved its own uv, maturin, Rust and Prisma caches, about 4.5 GB per PR, so the repository's 10 GB cache budget evicted main's entries within minutes. Pull request jobs then missed every cache, downloaded all dependencies from PyPI and hit the install step timeouts. Pull requests now restore only, and main keeps the caches warm for them. test-linting and check-ui-api-types run only on pull requests and keep saving codecov-action 5.5.4 imports its signing key from the deleted codecovsecurity keybase account, so every upload failed signature verification. 5.5.5 reads it from codecovsecops; the key ID matches the one signing the current CLI * test(unit): join the session-minting thread before collecting the handler asyncio.to_thread resumes the test as soon as the worker sets its result, while the pool thread can still hold the work item and through it the handler. gc.collect() then cannot finalize the handler and the session stays open. A pool that shuts down before the test continues drops that reference * test(integration): relaunch owned proxies that lose their port, expire idle gateway connections early owned_proxy_process released its reserved port and the proxy bound it only after full startup, so another xdist worker or an outgoing connection could take it first and the proxy exited with 'address already in use'. The launch now retries on a fresh port when that happens and stops every failed attempt. uvicorn closes idle keep-alive connections after 5 seconds and httpx expired them at the same 5 seconds, so a request sent right at that mark could reuse a socket the server was closing and get 'Connection reset by peer'. Gateway clients now drop idle connections after 2 seconds * ci(circleci): give the base SDK wheel build the same 30 minute no-output window as the Windows build The release profile builds with fat LTO and one codegen unit, so the final link of litellm-cache-s3 runs silently for minutes. Successful builds take 711 to 749 seconds, right at the default 10 minute no-output limit, and about 30% of recent runs were killed there * test(integration): model the budget-reset database outage as 10 seconds instead of 5 refused connections The proxy retries the database about every 30 seconds and each retry opens roughly one connection, so a 5-connection outage took 3 to 4 retries to clear and recovery landed between 60 and 90 seconds, straddling the test's 80 second reset window. A fixed 10 second outage still refuses the immediate reconnect and recovers on the next retry * ci: move the unit-test uv cache split into a composite action check_workflow_startup_safety sums every setup step's timeout, so the save and restore variants each counted 5 minutes although only one runs. One composite step keeps the setup ceiling at 35 minutes * test(unit): point tiktoken at the bundled cache for every unit test The rust_bridge tokenizer tests loaded o200k_base before any test in their xdist worker had imported default_encoding, so tiktoken fell back to the temp cache and tried to download under pytest-socket. Move the session fixture from litellm_core_utils/conftest.py to the root unit conftest. * test(integration): answer model discovery probes in the hosted_vllm wire tests The router's periodic upstream model info refresh sends GET /v1/models to hosted_vllm deployments, so a wire server that is live during a refresh sees an extra request. Answer the probe with an empty model list and leave it out of the provider-call assertions, matching the responses bridge tests. |

feat(proxy): record in spend logs whether a request used a client-forwarded Anthropic OAuth token (#43063)
* feat(proxy): record in spend logs whether a request used a client-forwarded Anthropic OAuth token Stamp metadata.used_client_oauth_token where the proxy decides to forward a client's Anthropic OAuth token, carry it through StandardLoggingMetadata into the spend log row, add a used_client_oauth_token filter to /spend/logs/ui, and surface it on the Logs page as a Credential filter and drawer field. The token itself never reaches the log * fix(proxy): carry used_client_oauth_token onto failure spend rows for litellm_metadata routes * fix(proxy): resolve used_client_oauth_token against the provider the call was sent to * fix(proxy): keep the proxy's used_client_oauth_token stamp on failure rows and move the resolver under llms/anthropic * fix(logging): read used_client_oauth_token from the proxy-stamped metadata slot On routes that carry proxy metadata in litellm_metadata, metadata is the caller's own body field, and merge_litellm_metadata lets it win. Resolve the flag from litellm_metadata when the proxy stamped it there so a caller cannot set it in the standard logging payload * fix(spend-logs): read used_client_oauth_token from the bucket the route stamped A guardrail on the unified path adds litellm_metadata to a chat request after the proxy stamped metadata, so both spend row writers read the new bucket and stored null. The success row now resolves the flag the same way the callback payload does, and the failure row picks the bucket from the request route. --------- Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(transcription): honor base_url alias for Groq Whisper and report it as the api base (#43917)
* fix(transcription): honor base_url alias for Groq Whisper and report it as the api base transcription() and speech() only accepted api_base, so a deployment configured with base_url leaked the alias into the provider params, which Groq rejected as an unknown param, and the request never reached the internal gateway. get_api_base() now reads the same alias so response headers and logs show the configured endpoint instead of the provider default Resolves LIT-9071 Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(speech): keep base_url after existing audio params, route Vertex speech to it, skip empty alias Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> --------- Co-authored-by: yassin <yassin@berri.ai> Co-authored-by: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(responses): emit the reasoning item on streaming /v1/responses for signature-only thinking (#43414)
* fix(responses): emit the reasoning item on streaming /v1/responses for signature-only thinking
Anthropic models return thinking blocks with empty text and the reasoning carried in the
signature: Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Opus 5.5 by default, and Bedrock adaptive thinking
with or without an effort. On streaming /v1/responses the chat->Responses bridge opened a
reasoning output item only on reasoning_content text
(LiteLLMCompletionStreamingIterator._ensure_output_item_for_chunk), and
ChunkProcessor.get_combined_thinking_content kept an assembled thinking block only when it
had thinking text. Such a response emitted no reasoning item mid-stream and none in
response.completed, so a streaming Responses client could not replay the reasoning even
though the reasoning tokens were billed. Non-streaming /v1/responses was unaffected.
Open the reasoning item when the delta carries a signed or redacted thinking block, and
keep a signed block through stream assembly even when its thinking text is empty.
Unsigned text-only fragments are still dropped. The reasoning-text path is unchanged.

fix(tools): salvage concatenated JSON tool call arguments (#43260)
* fix(tools): salvage concatenated JSON tool call arguments
* fix(tools): harden concatenated tool-call salvage for review findings
Skip non-dict JSON during split so salvage cannot emit empty tool calls.
Collapse srvtoolu_ expansions to the first object so server results stay paired.
Allocate __concat_n ids that cannot collide with sibling tool call ids.
Propagate cache_control onto every expanded Anthropic tool_use block.
Rename the XML invoke loop variable so the key-leak gate no longer flags {args}
* test(tools): cover concat id bump and srvtoolu array keep
Only collapse srvtoolu_ when concatenated salvage expanded; a valid JSON
array argument stays one server tool input
* revert(anthropic): drop concat expansion from pass-through adapter
Co-authored-by: Techboy bebop <kumarpriyanshu09@users.noreply.github.com>
* revert(tools): keep concat salvage out of request-side tool converters
Co-authored-by: Techboy bebop <kumarpriyanshu09@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(tools): expand strictly salvaged concatenated tool arguments in normalized tool calls
Co-authored-by: Techboy bebop <kumarpriyanshu09@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(tools): retain at most the salvage cap while validating concatenated arguments
Co-authored-by: Techboy bebop <kumarpriyanshu09@users.noreply.github.com>
* test(tools): assert concat sibling ids unique after sanitization
A sibling id that only collides after colon-to-underscore sanitization must force the next concat suffix
Co-authored-by: Techboy bebop <kumarpriyanshu09@users.noreply.github.com>
* refactor(tools): drop unused strict mode from split_concatenated_json_objects
Strict mode had no production caller. Rejection cases now sit on salvage, and split matches upstream main

fix(anthropic): drop thinking blocks with empty thinking text, not just missing signature 🧠🚫 (#38049)
_is_unsignable_thinking_block() only checked block["signature"], so a thinking block with a valid-looking signature but empty (or whitespace-only) thinking text sailed through _drop_unsignable_thinking_blocks and into anthropic_messages_pt(). Anthropic rejects that with: 400 messages.N.content.M.thinking: each thinking block must contain thinking This is reachable whenever a thinking_blocks history item gets replayed through this Anthropic-shaped request path (e.g. a non-Anthropic reasoning turn with no summary text), the same class of bug PR #36033 fixed on the Responses adapter's own separate code path. Now the signature check runs first (unsigned blocks are still dropped, same as before), then an additional check drops the block if `thinking` is missing, not a string, or strips to empty. redacted_thinking blocks are untouched since they don't have type == "thinking". |

fix(langtrace): deliver spans to app.langtrace.ai/api/trace with x-api-key (#43322)
* test(langtrace): integration test for the built-in callback wire (path, x-api-key) Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(langtrace): deliver spans to app.langtrace.ai/api/trace with x-api-key The built-in langtrace callback posted to the dead host langtrace.ai, sent the key as api_key instead of x-api-key, and let the OTLP endpoint normalizer append /v1/traces to the complete /api/trace path, so every export returned 404. Default the host to https://app.langtrace.ai, honor LANGTRACE_API_HOST for self-hosted servers, pass the key as an exporter header instead of a process-wide env var, and keep the /api/trace path unchanged for traces on the langtrace callback only Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(langtrace): keep LANGTRACE_API_HOST that already ends in /api/trace Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(langtrace): deterministic audit inventory for the built-in callback (surfaces, failures, endpoints, chaos) Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(langtrace): build the repeated-request body once Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(langtrace): outage cell asserts at-most-once delivery, not span loss The OTLP HTTP exporter reposts once on ConnectionError and the batch processor may still be flushing the previous burst when the sink closes, so whether the outage burst is lost or delivered after revival depends on timing. The invariant is no duplicate and recovery on the same port Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(langtrace): delivered spans must carry the prompt in the gen_ai.content.prompt event The upstream echoes the marker into the completion, so a whole-span match alone would still pass if the prompt event disappeared Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * test(langtrace): disable model info refresh so the scripted upstream only sees completion requests Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> --------- Co-authored-by: yucheng <yucheng@berri.ai> Co-authored-by: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(params): validate stream_chunk_size once, before any provider call (#43222)
* fix(params): validate stream_chunk_size once and carry it as typed control options Checks stream_chunk_size at the top of completion() and acompletion(), accepts digit strings, returns a 400 naming the param unless drop_params is set, and stores the checked value under _litellm_control. Bedrock Converse and Invoke read it from litellm_params; the Bedrock-only checker and the dead Invoke pops are gone. Owned-kwarg filtering now runs through one helper everywhere. Refs LIT-8317 * fix(params): address the second council review of control options Keep the Responses bridge on its original all_litellm_params forwarding, narrow _int_from_decimal_string inline so it type-checks, bound nested huge ints in the error message, store _litellm_control only when a value is set, simplify the parser to its single field, drop the one-caller wrapper, and tighten the tests. Refs LIT-8317 * fix(params): keep the 18-digit length check on stream_chunk_size strings A 19-character string with leading zeros such as 0000000000000000001 would otherwise pass as 1, although the rule and the error message say at most 18 digits. Refs LIT-8317 * test(params): tidy control options tests after council sign-off Move the Responses bridge test into the existing bridge test file, drop the rebind test that pinned an implementation detail, assert through stored_control_options instead of the storage key, and cover drop_params="true" through Bedrock streaming. feat(guardrails): scan retrieved vector store chunks with the request's pre-call guardrails (#43271)
* feat(guardrails): scan retrieved vector store chunks with the request's pre-call guardrails Vector store retrieval runs inside acompletion after the proxy's pre-call guardrails have already seen the request, so a retrieved chunk carrying an injection reached the prompt unscanned. Each retrieved context message now goes through every pre-call guardrail the request is subject to before it is injected: a block raises the same 400 the guardrail gives for user text, a masking guardrail rewrites the context, and a guardrail that fails while scanning fails the request instead of injecting the chunk unscanned * fix(guardrails): return a guardrail block unmapped from exception_type so the Responses API surfaces the guardrail's own 400 * fix(guardrails): build the deployment hooks' identity from stamped metadata only Top-level user_api_key_* fields in a request body are client controlled, so the pre-call, chunk scan, and post-call deployment hooks now take UserAPIKeyAuth from the metadata the proxy stamped, and the chunk scanner returns or raises on every branch. * fix(guardrails): block route verdicts on retrieved chunks, keep guardrail verdicts out of router retries and fallbacks, and scan chunks against the client's request * fix(guardrails): keep the merged guardrail list when scanning chunks against the client's request The scan request laid the client's kept body over the deployment kwargs, so a client that sent its own top-level guardrails list shadowed the merged metadata.guardrails list and a key or team guardrail skipped the chunk scan. The kwargs now win and the keys the proxy relocates into metadata are dropped from the body's contribution. * fix(guardrails): strip the deployment's guardrail keys from the chunk scan request so merged team guardrails still run * test(guardrails): type the vector store scan test doubles * test(guardrails): type the scan double's request data --------- Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> |

feat(sail): add Sail as a provider with service_tier mapped to its completion window (#42840)
Register Sail (providers.json, LlmProviders.SAIL, OpenAI-compatible lists, ProviderConfigManager) for chat, Responses and /v1/messages, and add its 12 models to both cost maps with asap, balanced and flex price columns. Sail picks speed and price with metadata.completion_window and rejects service_tier, so the Sail chat and Responses configs translate the tier: default and priority to asap, flex to flex, balanced to balanced, auto to no window. Billing prices the window that was sent. A tier Sail has no window for, or a window or tier set where billing cannot see it (request metadata, extra_body), is a 400 unless drop_params is set. Add balanced to ServiceTier and its _balanced price columns to the model info types, the Rust catalog and the dashboard schema. A transform_extra_body hook on the chat and Responses base configs, which returns extra_body unchanged by default, lets Sail keep the window when a caller also sends extra_body.metadata. Sail is listed in the Add Model form and model picker. Co-authored-by: shrey kharbanda <shrey@berri.ai> |

fix(otel): detach post-response service spans by request phase, name redis spans by operation (#43237)
* fix(otel): detach post-response service spans by request phase, name redis spans by operation Service spans logged from the post-response phase (success callbacks, the response-cache write) now root their own trace linked to the request span even while the server span is still recording, instead of only when they happen to end after it. Redis service spans are named `redis <operation>`; the litellm call chain that issued them moves to the `litellm.service.caller` attribute via a typed `ServiceLoggerPayload.caller` field. Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(otel): keep the service caller on failure and legacy spans, test the production phase dispatch sites Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(otel): mark anthropic messages stream cache write as post-response phase The /v1/messages streaming cache writer awaits async_add_cache inline instead of going through create_cache_write_task, so its redis span stayed parented under the request trace. Wrap the write in post_response_phase so it detaches like the chat completions write. fix(ci): stop stale CI reds, keep unit tests off the host env, retry CyberArk policy conflicts (#43294)
* fix(ci): stop five stale or flaky CI reds and retry CyberArk policy-load conflicts The Langfuse redaction unit test exports to a local OTLP capture instead of polling Langfuse Cloud through a recorded lookup. The passthrough worker-kill test only requires spend rows for requests the surviving worker served. The spend-routes sweep treats the intentional /spend/capture_rate 503 as expected. CyberArk retries a 409 policy load in Python, Rust and the e2e Conjur helper instead of reading it as "variable exists". The integration egress guard now matches the script's own cgroup, so it no longer blocks the CircleCI agent, which runs as the same user. * fix(ci): keep the policy-load backoff typed as float * fix(ci): retry CyberArk policy loads without blocking the event loop and tighten the worker-kill and Langfuse tests * fix(secrets): load CyberArk policy one request at a time per manager * test(secrets): pin that non-conflict CyberArk policy failures are not retried * test(unit): run tests/unit with only an allowlisted host environment CircleCI's unit job inherits every project env var, so real provider keys, REDIS_HOST, DATABASE_URL and AWS or Azure credentials reached tests that assume none are set. Locally, litellm's import-time load_dotenv did the same from any .env up the tree. The unit conftest now drops every variable outside a small allowlist and disables dotenv before litellm is imported. * test(e2e): name a failed search and the stuck batch status instead of misattributing them The websearch session test read an empty web_search_tool_result_error block as a successful search, so a failing search tool surfaced as a session billing bug. The batch cancellation timeout now reports the last status the proxy returned. * fix(ci): scrub the host environment per unit test instead of for the whole pytest process GHA shards run tests/unit next to other suites in one process, so the import-time scrub deleted MCP_TEST_PEER_PYTHON before tests/mcp_tests read it and the MCP upstream fell back to the SDK2 interpreter. The two websearch tests that called OpenAI and Perplexity live are removed: tests/unit no longer sees their keys. * fix(ci): scrub only the host variables present before litellm is imported The per-test scrub also deleted TIKTOKEN_CACHE_DIR, which litellm sets at import to its bundled encodings, so tokenizer paths tried to download them and hit the socket guard. The prisma setup test now passes its own database URL instead of reading one another test leaked into the process environment. * fix(ci): stop the order-dependent unit reds and settle logging tasks on their own queue LoggingWorker marked a task done on whichever queue was current when the callback finished, so a callback that outlived an event-loop change raised "task_done() called too many times" or undercounted the new loop's queue. It now settles the queue the task came from. The rest are test isolation fixes for failures that only appeared when another file ran first on the same xdist worker: a replaced user_api_key_cache, breaker metrics unregistered by prometheus tests, semantic_router's health-check filter on uvicorn.access, logging tasks carried over from bedrock tests, a Router-written model_cost entry, and a stray post captured by the langflow test. The token counter check now asserts bounded chunking instead of wall-clock time. * test(e2e/ui): wait for the logout redirect before visiting a protected page Logout revokes the session server-side before clearing cookies and navigating, so an immediate page.goto either ran with the cookie still set or was aborted by the logout redirect (net::ERR_ABORTED). * test(unit): restore the prometheus metrics config per test and settle logs carried from earlier tests in the a2a cost tests * test(router): pin the router clock in the usage counter tests so a minute rollover cannot empty the read * test(e2e/ui): wait for logout to clear the token cookie instead of for a login redirect * test(integration/mcp): answer the model-info probe another test's proxy sends to the model double |

test: move tests/test_litellm core utils, routing, responses, caching and rust_bridge into tests/unit (#43199)
* ci: run the unit_selection.sh shard files on every event instead of only fork pull requests Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * ci: rename fork-flag to unit-flag now that it applies on every event * test: move tests/test_litellm root and small trees into tests/unit Pure renames, no content changes. Follow-up commits in this PR fix references, merge the three files that already existed in tests/unit, keep live-provider tests in tests/test_litellm and wire CI. * test: carry tests/test_litellm conftest isolation into tests/unit Callback lists, routing fallbacks, cached HTTP clients, logger state, AWS, proxy-URL and keychain env, and session-end client cleanup now reset for unit tests too. The environment isolation owns its MonkeyPatch so a test's own monkeypatch is undone before the model-cost teardown runs. * test: merge, split and prune the moved root and small-tree tests Merge batches/test_batch_utils.py and the chat_completions and messages dispatch tests into the files that already existed in tests/unit. Keep the live Gemini interactions tests, the async image-fetch format test and the OpenAI embedding scorer test in tests/test_litellm since they need real network or keys. Put test_router.py under tests/unit/test_router so the existing package no longer shadows it. Delete eight tests the audit found superseded by stronger ones kept in this move. * ci: run the moved root and small-tree tests under their legacy flags Add the misc and responses-caching-types flags to unit_selection.sh and CircleCI, extend enterprise-routing and mcp-integration, and point the legacy GHA shards, Makefile, redis-compat workflow, merge smoke manifest and change classifier at the new paths. * test: make the new tests/unit directories packages tests/unit/test_package_layout.py requires every directory to carry an __init__.py, and without one the moved and retained test_litellm_responses_bridge.py modules collide on import. * test: scope the unit socket block to tests/unit in shared sessions The GHA shards collect the legacy test-path and the unit selection in one pytest session. The unit conftest's loopback-only block leaked into legacy modules that reach the network at import. The legacy conftest now lifts the restriction at collect and setup time, and the unit conftest re-applies it when collecting its own modules. * test: move tests/test_litellm/llms into tests/unit/llms Rename-only. Moves the provider tests and the fine-tuning fixtures they load, mirroring the old paths. Follow-up commits merge, split and wire them. * test: merge, split and prune the moved llms tests Merges the Databricks chat transformation tests into the existing unit file, keeps the tests that need real keys or the network in tests/test_litellm, deletes the audited tests a stronger unit test already covers, and points imports at tests.unit.llms. * ci: run the moved llms tests under their legacy flags The Vertex AI and All Other Providers shards keep their legacy test-path for the retained files and add the llm-vertex-ai and llm-other-providers unit selections. CircleCI gets matching unit jobs. * test: make the tests/unit/llms directories packages Adds __init__.py to the moved dirs and drops the legacy ones whose directories no longer hold tests. * test: drop script runners and path hacks the llms split left dangling The __main__ runners in the split openai_like files and the Databricks e2e runner called tests that now live in the other half of the split or were deleted. The retained legacy halves also no longer need sys.path edits. * test: give the shard-script tests their own GITHUB_OUTPUT They only passed where the runner set it. The CircleCI unit job's env allowlist drops it, so the script's redirect failed there. * test: point the router and module-deletion checks at tests/unit router_code_coverage and code_qa_check_tests only searched tests/test_litellm, so the moved router tests no longer counted. The two silent-experiment tests the audit deleted were the only direct callers of those methods; they are replaced with tests that assert the forwarded shadow request and the recursion guard. * test: move tests/test_litellm integrations and secret_managers into tests/unit Rename-only. Mirrors the old paths, including the directory conftests and the prompt and JSON fixtures. Follow-up commits prune and wire them. * test: prune and repoint the moved integrations tests Deletes the 7 audited tests a stronger test in the same tree already covers, imports the TLS sink helpers from their new conftest path, and restores os.environ after each integrations test. Some presets write OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_HEADERS straight into os.environ, and without the legacy tree's test ordering that header leaked into the AgentOps tests. * ci: run the moved integrations tests under their legacy flag The integrations GHA shard and a new CircleCI job run the integrations unit selection. secret_managers joins the misc selection. * docs: point integrations and secret_managers references at tests/unit * test: make the moved integrations directories packages * test: keep the Databricks manual e2e runner and fix the SageMaker Nova run path The Databricks e2e file is a manual script whose main() calls the tests that were pruned, so pruning them broke the documented run. It is back to its main version. The SageMaker Nova docstring now points at the file's real location in tests/local_testing. * test: move tests/test_litellm core utils, routing, responses, caching and rust_bridge into tests/unit Rename-only. Mirrors the old paths, including fixtures, the stubtest config and the native-route wheel script. Two files that collide with existing unit files are merged in a follow-up commit. * test: merge, prune and repoint the moved core, routing, responses, caching and rust_bridge tests Merges the two files that collided with existing unit files, folding the legacy extra case into test_is_chat_completion_cached_dict, and deletes the 9 audited tests a stronger test in the same file already covers. Keeps what needs the network in tests/test_litellm: test_tokenizers pulls a tokenizer from the Hugging Face hub, and the gpt2 and r50k_base tokenizer cases download their BPE files. The unit core_utils conftest points TIKTOKEN_CACHE_DIR at litellm's bundled encodings so the rest never depend on import order to stay offline, and FakeSecretVault moves to a shared module so both trees can build it. * ci: run the moved core, routing, responses, caching and rust_bridge tests under their flags core_utils gets a core-utils flag and CircleCI job, and its GHA shard keeps the legacy path for the retained network tests. router_utils and router_strategy join enterprise-routing, responses joins responses-caching-types (minus responses/mcp, which mcp-integration owns), caching joins caching-local and rust_bridge joins misc. The redis-compat, test-rust, stubtest and merge-smoke paths follow the move. * docs: point the Rust crate references at tests/unit * test: make the moved core, routing and rust_bridge directories packages * test: keep the no-loop DualCache batch_get_cache regression test It runs the sync path outside any event loop, which the inside-loop test cannot, so a change that picks the Redis client by loop state would only show up there. * test: keep the job's UNIT_FLAG out of the shard-script tests * fix(url_utils): block 192.0.0.0/24 on every Python patch release * test: move the new budget limiter tests into tests/unit/router_strategy * test: move the new sentry scrubbing tests into tests/unit/litellm_core_utils * test: move the new zerobus tests into tests/unit/integrations * test: make tests/unit/integrations/zerobus a package * test: load litellm's own tiktoken cache setup once instead of resetting it per test --------- Co-authored-by: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(cost): honor per-second custom pricing on chat completions for every provider (#42403)
* fix(cost): honor per-second custom pricing on chat completions for every provider * test(cost): assert a per-second priced deployment bills instead of staying at $0 The zero-cost diagnostic tests from #42345 used a per-second-only entry as their misconfigured fixture, which this branch now bills. Switch that fixture to a per-query-only entry, which is still selected as the deployment's own pricing and still prices chat usage at $0, and add a per-second test asserting the call duration is billed with no diagnostic Also let a caller's explicit total_time outrank the logging window in completion_cost, so the SDK precedence stays stamped response, caller, logging * test(response_metadata): move the per-second pricing regression into the mapped tests/unit file * fix(cost_calculator): keep media-mode per-second rates off the wall-clock path A video, transcription, speech, or realtime entry's per-second rates price media seconds, which their dedicated cost paths bill from the media itself. The generic per-second branch now skips those modes, so a video status poll on a per-second video model bills nothing instead of the seconds the poll took to answer. --------- Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> |
