Pass user_api_key_dict.parent_otel_span into the outgoing W3C injection so the
legacy otel callback propagates its litellm_request span, falling back to the
otel_v2 request root span and then the ambient span. Extend the mapped unit
tests to assert the propagated trace and span ids over real captured headers
for HTTP and WebSocket passthrough with forwarding on and off.

Invalid or unknown virtual keys were filtered out of the proxy failed and total
request counters entirely. Count them with hashed_api_key unset so caller-chosen
key strings cannot create unbounded label series, and normalize the request
route on the auth failure path so dynamic path ids do not leak into the route
label either.

Pre-call limiters reject before a deployment is attached to request_data, so
the failure hook could not resolve api_provider for router aliases and emitted
api_provider="None" on litellm_proxy_failed_requests_metric_total and
litellm_proxy_total_requests_metric_total. Fall back to the provider the
limiter already resolved onto RateLimitError.llm_provider, keeping request
data as the first source and ignoring the proxy placeholder.

* fix(guardrails): log mask when a guardrail adds request keys
_inputs_were_modified only compared keys present in the pre-hook baseline, so a
guardrail that injected a new key such as tools was logged as allow. Compare over
the union of both key sets, and narrow the pre_call return value to the same
prompt-bearing keys the baseline holds so passthrough stays allow.

* perf(auth): prefetch user, team, membership, org and project in one MGET, one query and one pipeline
Auth read each object with its own Redis GET and, on a miss, its own DB
query, then the admission spend counters with one GET each. The prefetch
warms every entry the checks read with one MGET, one raw query for the
Redis misses and one pipeline write, and a per-request batch serves the
spend counter reads from one MGET. The per-object getters stay the
readers and the fallback, so enforcement does not depend on the prefetch

* perf(proxy): batch post-call spend counter reads and carry budget state through the request
Post-call warm checks, reservation reads and reconcile reads for one request now go through a task-local spend counter batch: one MGET answers every counter, successful increments write their result back into the batch so no second Redis read follows, and invalidation forgets the key. RedisCache.async_increment sends INCRBYFLOAT and its TTL command in one pipeline round trip.
Auth pins frozen team, user and org budget snapshots on UserAPIKeyAuth, the pre-call setup writes them into the request metadata, and Prometheus reads them back instead of calling get_key_object, get_team_object, get_user_object and get_org_object on the response path. The getters stay as the fallback for requests that carried nothing (custom auth, unauthenticated routes, skipped checks).

* perf(proxy): reconcile the budget reservation and the post-call warm checks from one MGET and one pipeline
A scope opened inside an open spend counter batch binds into it instead of starting its own, so the reservation reconcile and the post-call warm checks share the request's single MGET. The reconcile reads every reserved counter concurrently, sends the consistent adjustments in one INCRBYFLOAT+EXPIRE pipeline and settles a flushed or reseeded counter on its own afterwards, keeping the pre-call resize fail-closed. PendingSpendIncrement moves to spend_counter_batch so budget_reservation can build a pipeline without importing a private name

A value length limit clips the input.value blob, so the per-index keys are the
only untruncated copy of a message. Indexing the leading prompt messages dropped
the live user turn from every span attribute on long conversations. Keep message
0 and the most recent turns under the same span-wide budget, original indices
preserved, reply reservation unchanged

* fix(datadog_llm_obs): keep tool call and result structure under redaction and emit tool output tokens
Under datadog_llm_observability_params.turn_off_message_logging the span kept only one role plus "redacted-by-litellm" per message, so Datadog showed Tool Call 0, Tool Result 0 and no tool output token data. The shared CustomLogger hook collapsed the messages before the callback ran, and the Datadog redaction then dropped tool_calls and tool_results.
The Datadog callback now opts out of the shared message collapse (redacts_messages_itself) and redacts its own normalized messages, keeping roles, tool names, ids and types while replacing content, arguments and results. Tool result tokens are counted with litellm.token_counter before redaction and shipped as the tool_output_tokens metric. Other callbacks keep the inherited behavior.

OpenInferenceMapper spelled every captured prompt and response message out as
two indexed attributes with no bound. A few dozen turns overran the OTel SDK's
128-attribute span limit, which evicts oldest first, so the gen_ai.* model,
provider, usage, cost and finish reason written before it were what got
dropped. Both directions now share one MAX_MESSAGE_ATTRS_PER_SPAN ceiling, the
response keeps at least half of it, and input.value / output.value still carry
the complete conversation

* feat(prometheus): bucket latency by input sequence length
* style: format startup resolver call
* fix(prometheus): handle unknown input lengths

* test(prometheus): seed startup snapshot in mocked logger test
* fix(proxy): preserve database setting types during startup
* fix(prometheus): distinguish missing usage and preserve config persistence
Keep quoted database-storage config values intact for legacy persistence readers while using a local boolean for early callback discovery. Distinguish absent provider usage from an explicitly reported zero when labeling latency metrics.

Drop the Admin UI General Settings row, the safe DB override entry, the startup reorder that loaded DB litellm_settings before Prometheus callbacks, and the alerting-only Prometheus path. RefreshableCredentials (IMDS roles) can refresh between the access key, secret and token reads SigV4 performs, producing a mixed-generation signature that S3 rejects with 403 and the log is dropped. Snapshot the credentials with get_frozen_credentials before signing, treat 403 like 500/503 in the upload retry loop, and fetch credentials plus sign again on every attempt in both the async and sync upload paths. * fix(langfuse): give session-header calls their own trace id
A client that sends only a session header (x-litellm-session-id, a vendor
x-<name>-session-id such as Claude Code's X-Claude-Code-Session-Id, a bare
x-session-id, or the Codex session/thread/conversation family) has that value
stamped into both trace_id and session_id by the proxy. Langfuse upserts a
trace by id, so every turn of a session collapsed into one growing trace and
the Sessions view showed "Total traces: 1"
Detect that aliasing in the Langfuse callback from the request headers the
callback already receives, and use litellm_call_id as the trace id for those
calls. session_id still carries the header value, so the turns stay grouped
under one session. An explicit x-litellm-trace-id, langfuse_trace_id, or
langfuse_existing_trace_id keeps its trace id, including when the caller sets
it to the same value as the session id

* test(azure_sentinel): pin batch_size as a per-request bound under concurrent events
Adds a regression test to the mapped Azure Sentinel test file for the concurrency scenario from LIT-6920: 40 records logged concurrently at batch_size=5 while each ingestion request is still in flight. Asserts no request carries more than batch_size records, every record arrives exactly once in order, and the queue is empty afterwards. Runs for both the standard log queue and the audit log queue.
The test fails on the tree before #39880 (whole shared queue serialized per threshold send, then cleared) and passes on current staging. It is independent of the size-split coverage that #39880 added for LIT-5899.
