* test(integration): wait on the right signal in five flaky integration contracts
The Prometheus shared-label tests waited for the latency metric and then read the
request counter, which the logger writes after an await. They now wait for the counter
The auto-router session poll returned on the first 200 while the caller expected two
turns, so it now waits for the expected turn count
The S3 queue cap test let its failing sink recover on a 15s clock that could expire
mid-flush. The sink now stays down until a flush fails after every event is queued
K3 normally takes 168-175s against a 180s limit, so the limit is now 300s
The MCP env var browser spec reused an idle keep-alive socket that the proxy closes
after 5s, so its API calls now send Connection: close
* test(integration): add until_asserted so a wait polls the exact asserts it guards
eventually() takes a predicate separate from the asserts that follow it, which lets a
test wait on one value and then assert on another written later. until_asserted reruns
a block of asserts until they all pass and re-raises the last failure on timeout
The Prometheus shared-label tests and the auto-router session check now use it
* fix(scim): write a group's roster in one locked transaction instead of one member at a time
POST, PUT and PATCH /scim/v2/Groups resolve every member in one query and write the roster, the
membership rows and the users' team tags in one transaction under the team's advisory lock, so a
500-member push runs a fixed number of statements instead of thousands. PUT now answers with the
roster it just wrote
* test(scim): assert the roster the IdP gets back and boot the bulk roster cell with two workers
* fix(scim): skip the team lock for a rename-only PATCH and lock member rows in id order before the roster write
A PATCH naming no members opened the roster transaction and took the team advisory lock for nothing. A SIGKILLed worker then left its orphaned query engine holding that lock until the 60 s transaction timeout, and /team/delete, which takes the same lock, timed out behind it. An empty delta is now answered from a plain team read, with no transaction and no lock
Two groups trading members in parallel locked user rows in opposite orders, and one request died with a Postgres deadlock. Every user row a push touches is now locked with SELECT ... ORDER BY user_id FOR UPDATE before the first write, so the two requests serialize
The bulk roster cell gets a 120 s client through a new owned_proxy_process client_timeout, so an unfixed push fails on the statement count instead of the harness clock, requires positive counts on both pushes, and gains a parallel roster-trade test that answered 500 before the lock
* fix(scim): evict the cached team on a group rename and read a no-op roster from the writer
A rename-only PUT or PATCH wrote the new alias and left the team cached under
its id and old alias on every worker, so keys kept logging spend against the
old team alias until the TTL expired. The group write now evicts the cached
team (and broadcasts the eviction) right after the alias or metadata update.
sync_team_roster reads the team from the writer when the plan names nobody,
so a replica cannot hand back the pre-rename row; a plan already matching the
roster returns inside the lock without writing, evicting, or emitting the
members metric; the response is built from the written row, so lastModified
reflects the roster write; and detaching a removed member bumps the user's
updated_at like every other user write.
* fix(scim): bump detached members' updated_at in UTC
The detach UPDATE wrote updated_at = CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, which Postgres casts
into Prisma's naive timestamp column in the session timezone, so on a database
whose session is not UTC the removed member's row landed hours away from the
UTC instants Prisma itself writes. Write NOW() AT TIME ZONE 'UTC' instead, and
have the bulk roster cell assert the bumped row sits between two reads of the
database's own UTC clock taken around the replace.
* fix(scim): chunk the group write's member lookups under the bind cap
Every Prisma "in" filter the group write issues bound one parameter per
member with nothing bounding the list, which check_unbounded_in_lists
reports as 11 new findings. The single-field lookups now go through
litellm.repositories.chunked_in (caller_transaction inside the roster
transaction, per_chunk_ok for the role recompute), and the one
cross-field OR read slices its values at IN_LIST_CHUNK_SIZE and records
the bound. A push of IN_LIST_CHUNK_SIZE + 1 members now reads in two
slices, and a member named only in the last slice still resolves.
* fix(proxy): send bulk cache evictions in slices so the broadcaster drops none
Veria pointed out that the invalidation publisher caps its pending tasks at
1,024 and drops the excess with a warning, and that a group push now detaches
every removed member's keys in one call instead of one member at a time, so a
removal of more than roughly 340 members (three cache keys each) silently left
stale key objects on the other replicas. The merge base never hit the cap
because each member was a separate request.
Bulk evictions (team, user, organization, and session key deletes, plus the
roster settle) now publish in slices of 256 and wait, bounded at two seconds,
for the backlog already handed to the event loop before each slice. A Redis
that never answers costs a bulk caller at most that wait per slice instead of
wedging the request, and single-key callers are untouched. Regression tests
push 1,500 keys and a 500-member removal through a slow publisher and assert
every eviction reaches Redis; both fail against the previous tip.
* fix(proxy): clear this worker's cache before pacing bulk eviction broadcasts
Greptile pointed out that pacing the broadcasts in slices also paced the
local eviction: a bulk delete waited for the publish backlog before dropping
the next slice from this worker's own memory, so on a Redis that accepts
connections but never answers a key deleted from the database kept
authenticating on the handling worker for up to two seconds per slice. The
merge base cleared every key locally at once.
Bulk evictions now drop every affected entry from this worker's memory first,
through the cache's own partition lookup since key objects live apart from
the other auth objects, and only then publish in paced slices. The roster
settle does the same for the deleted tokens, the JWT mapping keys and every
changed member's user and membership entries before any step that can wait.
Regression tests run both paths against a publisher that never answers and
check that nothing is still cached on this worker before the first bound
elapses; both fail with the local eviction removed.
* fix(proxy): drop the Redis copies of bulk-evicted auth objects before pacing the broadcasts
* docs(proxy): drop the module docstring that repeated the PR description
* fix(scim): bound bulk cache evictions to one Redis round trip and close lock-order gaps
Bulk key evictions now drop entries from memory, delete them from Redis in one
chunked DEL, and broadcast every key in one pipelined publish, so a large roster
removal no longer overflows the publisher's pending cap or costs a Redis round
trip per member. A push waits for in-flight membership loads before evicting.
User rows are locked in byte order to match the spend writer, a bulk user delete
takes every team lock before its first user write, and a POST whose roster write
fails deletes the empty team so the IdP retry creates it again.
* test(team): observe delete broadcasts at the Redis layer
* fix(scim): lock user rows in id order on every multi-row writer and create unprovisioned members concurrently
* fix(team): chunk the email lookup behind the member row lock
* fix(scim): create a member deleted mid-push again instead of failing the group write
* fix(scim): refuse strict-mode mid-push deletes with 400 and check license seats once per batch
A member deleted mid-push is created again only when scim_upsert_user allows it,
under the verb's own created_via. New group members are checked against the
license seat limit as one batch before any is created. Auth cache publish drops
log the key count instead of the key.
* fix(scim): lock member rows while recomputing admin roles after a group push
* fix(users): re-read teams under the row locks in bulk user delete so a racing group push keeps no deleted member
* fix(users): take /user/delete and SCIM DELETE /Users users off their current teams under the row locks so a racing group push keeps no deleted member
* fix(scim): keep retrying a push while deletes race it, lock rows in member bulk delete, evict removed keys from Redis first
A group push gave up after one retry when SCIM user deletes kept landing between attempts, answering 500 in 9 of 10 race rounds. It now retries while each attempt finds newly deleted members, and gives up only when a member it created again goes missing a second time.
The team member bulk delete now locks the removed members' user rows in the shared order and takes the team off their teams arrays in one array_remove statement, so it no longer writes back a teams array read before a concurrent push added another team.
A push that removes members now drops their deleted team keys from memory and Redis together with the members' other cache entries before the team eviction, so a removed key cannot refill from Redis mid-cleanup.
* fix(user-delete): keep the team alias label on the team members gauge after removals
* test(integration): count relay statements over plaintext so an SSL-enabled Postgres does not hide them
* fix(user-delete): skip a team deleted while the user delete waited on its lock instead of answering 404
* fix(scim): answer 404 and roll back when the team is deleted during a roster write
* test(integration): audit cells for SCIM bulk roster writes, user delete locking and the eviction broadcast
* fix(streaming): keep provider headers on MidStreamFallbackError
A 429 raised while opening a stream is wrapped in MidStreamFallbackError,
which dropped the litellm_response_headers exception_type() attaches to
the wrapped error. retry-after and x-request-id reached callers on the
non-streaming path but not on the streaming one, so retry backoff,
provider request id logging and proxy error headers lost them.
* refactor(streaming): drop explanatory comment from MidStreamFallbackError header copy
* test(streaming): cover sync and async header carry on MidStreamFallbackError
Parametrizes the provider-header test over the sync and async stream
wrappers, and drops the hasattr test, which pinned how the attribute is
stored rather than what any caller observes
* test(streaming): add integration cells for stream-open provider headers
Cover the SDK stream openers (gemini, vertex_ai, codestral, predibase and the
eager providers), the Router stream retry and fallback paths, and the proxy on
both the router and the config-less serving paths, including a mixed burst, a
worker SIGKILL and a SIGTERM restart. Add a helper that boots a config-less
proxy owned by the test

* fix(responses bridge): leave content unset on a search-only turn so replay adds no empty message

* fix(responses bridge): replay tool search items only with tool_search, count replayed tools in the allowlist, keep namespace off guardrails
* fix(responses bridge): honor drop_params for defer_loading and route tool_search to Responses
Under drop_params, defer_loading is dropped when no tool_search tool is sent,
so the 400 it would cause upstream goes away as before. A non-bool value answers
400 without drop_params and is dropped with it. A null tool-level value falls
back to the nested function value. A request carrying a tool_search tool now
bridges to Responses on OpenAI and Azure endpoints even with reasoning_effort
none, since chat completions rejects the tool_search type.
* fix(responses bridge): replay tool search items in output order and count replayed tools in tool policy
Store the ordered output prefix through the last tool search item, reasoning included, so a
second reasoning item no longer makes OpenAI reject the replay. The shared chat-to-Responses
converter now replays tool search items and namespace only when the bridge opts in, so Noma,
the complexity router and guardrail payloads keep their shape. The tool policy guardrail and
the allowlist count replayed tools only when the request can send them.
* fix(responses bridge): forward defer_loading only beside a tool_search tool
defer_loading only means something with tool_search, and backends without it
reject the key (xAI answers 403). A true value with no tool_search tool now
answers 400 naming drop_params and is dropped under drop_params; a false value
there is a no-op and is dropped.
* fix(tool_loop): keep tool search items and namespace between rounds
* fix(responses bridge): check replayed tool search loads when a deployment adds tool_search
* fix(chat): drop litellm response fields before strict OpenAI-compatible providers
A chat reply from the Responses bridge carries provider_specific_fields on the
message and on each tool call, plus reasoning_items. Groq, Fireworks, Mistral
and Together reject unknown fields, so sending that reply back to them as
history failed with a 400 or 422. Strip them in the shared helper and use it
in those providers.
* fix(caching): keep reasoning_items and tool search items on response cache hits
A cached bridge response lost reasoning_items on a non-streaming hit and lost
both reasoning_items and provider_specific_fields (tool_search_items) on a
streamed hit, so the next turn could not replay the search or the reasoning
around it
* test(integration): cover tool search item replay on the chat to Responses bridge
Proxy, SDK, authorization and chaos cells for returning and replaying
tool_search_call and tool_search_output items and the tool call namespace
* test(integration): add response cache twins for the tool search guardrail cells
Each guardrail cell now has a twin where the answer is already in the Redis response cache: a key opted out of global guardrails caches a replay that loads a policy-blocked tool, the same replay without guardrails is cached before block mode sees it, rewrite mode is not served the unrewritten conversation's cached answer, and an allowed replay is served from the cache.
* fix(responses bridge): forward defer_loading beside a client-executed tool_search
The bridge now replays a client tool_search_call and the client's tool_search_output through provider_specific_fields.tool_search_items, so a deferred function beside a client tool_search keeps defer_loading like it does beside a hosted one
* test(responses bridge): pin the client tool_search turn and its replay, streamed and not
* fix(responses bridge): strip nested namespace for strict providers and keep streamed reasoning_items on text replies
Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(responses bridge): keep dropping defer_loading beside a client-executed tool_search
Forwarding defer_loading beside a client tool_search made GPT stop with a
search call the chat client has to answer by hand, so a plain question that
used to get tool calls got none. Keep main's behavior of dropping it there.

* fix(responses): keep the provider code and message on top-level stream error events
Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(responses): log a mid-stream failure before the router falls back
CustomStreamWrapper now waits for failure logging before it raises the
error the router falls back on, so the cooldown lands on the deployment
that failed instead of the fallback that replaced it. Also keeps numeric
error codes and the top-level message on the WebSocket and ChatGPT paths.
* fix(streaming): run sync failure callbacks before a failed stream falls back to another deployment
The router cools a deployment down from a sync failure callback that reads the request's model_info. A failed stream submitted that callback to the logging executor without waiting, so it often ran after the router's fallback had overwritten model_info and cooled down the healthy fallback deployment instead, leaving the model group with no deployments
* test(responses): cover top-level OpenAI stream error events end to end
* test(streaming): read live worker pids so the second SIGKILL chaos variant sees two workers
* fix(streaming): run waited sync failure logging off the shared logging pool
* revert(streaming): keep failed-stream failure logging in the background
Waiting for sync failure callbacks before a failed stream raises fixed the router cooldown race, but it slowed healthy calls under many failing streams with a slow callback, since the wait shares a thread pool with every call's start. The race is pre-existing on main and is tracked separately, so this PR goes back to main's logging timing and keeps only the top-level error event changes

CustomStreamWrapper gets a sync close() (plus context manager support) that

* feat(anthropic): generate auto mode safeguard_results with a classifier model on the /v1/messages chat bridge
* fix(anthropic): check caller limits for the safeguards classifier, mark truncated tool calls, and keep pre-compaction context
* fix(anthropic): log classifier spend under the caller's key hash and read list-shaped classifier replies
* feat(anthropic): generate safeguard_results on the Responses bridge and native non-Claude /v1/messages providers
* fix(messages): keep safeguards requests on Python under the Rust opt-in
* fix(anthropic): keep non-ASCII text unescaped in the safeguards classifier prompt
* test(anthropic): build the text-parts classifier reply without openai's construct path
Message.model_construct goes through openai's construct_type, which caches
discriminated unions in a weak-key map. On Python 3.12 a PEP 604 union cannot be
weak-referenced, so the fixture raised inside the fake classifier and the test
read an unavailable verdict. model_copy sets the list content without that path.
* fix(anthropic): scan only new bytes for SSE frame ends on safeguarded native streams
* fix(anthropic): answer safeguards on web search short circuits and widen the classifier reply cap
* fix(anthropic): answer unsupported when the proxy serves no deployment for the safeguards classifier
* fix(anthropic): keep a backend's stream verdicts and join split SSE data lines before stamping
* fix(anthropic): map only the router's no-healthy-deployments refusal to unsupported
* fix(anthropic): answer unavailable for the turn on a transient caller denial and let the classifier deployment's timeout apply
* fix(anthropic): keep the user's whole opening message in the classifier transcript past its budget
* fix(anthropic): run the proxy's own access checks for the safeguards classifier call
The classifier and compaction sub-calls now pass through the same model access
checks as the parent request (key, team, team member, user, project, end user,
managed agent grants), with budgets left to the per-model budget check so
nothing is reserved. They also carry the parent's logging params and headers,
so a redaction header or per-request callback params apply to their own rows.
Only per-model RPM limits count against a sub-call now, since a key-wide or
team-wide RPM window is already spent by the parent request. The MCP
auto-execute loop classifies only its final response, a chat-bridge stream
without safeguards yields frames directly, and a classifier provider failure
logs one warning line instead of a traceback
* fix(anthropic): keep safeguards sub-calls off the parent's session routing and carry a body trace id
The classifier and compaction summary calls no longer get the parent's proxy_server_request, so a Claude Code session bound to a router no longer pulls them off their configured model. Redaction still reads the headers carried in metadata.
Their access checks now use the parent's resolved litellm_trace_id when the parent metadata has no trace_id, so a team that requires a trace id accepts a sub-call whose parent sent it in the body.
* fix(anthropic): keep the disable-callbacks header on safeguards sub-calls
* fix(proxy): charge per-model budgets from litellm_metadata when metadata holds only routing keys
* test(integration): add safeguard_results cells for the bridges, native routes, caller checks, and classifier failures
* fix(proxy): check the caller's budgets on the classifier call and keep failed access reads retryable

* fix(logging): redact nested callback input and provider response fields
* fix(logging): keep shared request body for per-callback redaction and drop hidden provider fields
The deprecated per-callback message_logging=False path ran perform_redaction on
the shared model_call_details, which now also redacted the nested
proxy_server_request body. The spend log Request column and
previous_response_id replay read that body, so one opted-out callback blanked
them for everyone. That path now keeps the shared body and hidden params, and
redact_streaming_responses_for_custom_logger hands the opted-out callback its
own redacted litellm_params.
Redacted litellm_params also clear provider_specific_fields copied into
metadata.hidden_params (Anthropic thinking text), in litellm_params and in the
nested request body, and the nested body redacts system and instructions.
* fix(logging): keep replayed instructions and router usage marker under redaction
The shared request body keeps system and instructions again, so spend logs
store them and previous_response_id follow-ups replay the real instructions.
Per-callback copies still redact them.
Provider-specific fields in metadata.hidden_params are cleared in place, so
the metadata dict keeps its identity and the router's counted-usage marker
stays visible to deployment_callback_on_success (no double tpm/rpm count).
* fix(logging): never copy shared metadata dicts during redaction
The shared redaction pass now leaves litellm_params metadata dicts as they
are, so a hidden_params write from the other success handler between the
in-place clear and the copy can no longer move the router usage marker to a
stale dict. The key-presence predicate change is reverted as unneeded.
* refactor(logging): redact nested request body and provider fields with the existing message rules
Run perform_redaction on a copy of proxy_server_request.body, the same call the
spend log already makes, and redact reasoning inside provider_specific_fields the
way the message's own reasoning_content and thinking_blocks are redacted, instead
of clearing every provider field. Opaque fields such as Gemini thought_signatures
stay, and the metadata dicts and streaming objects are handled as on main.

Each test below passed or failed on the same commit depending on test order
or port timing in the CircleCI integration workflow
- readiness probe only polls a port the launched proxy owns, so a stolen
port no longer sends GET /health/integration-readiness to another test's
wire server
- team update tests seed fresh member users, since a proxy admin relocation
adds team members to the destination org and leaked org_b membership into
the shared INTERNAL_USER
- realtime whisper tests wait until every proxy worker serves only the new
gpt-realtime-whisper deployment, via a per-worker deployment id route
- configured fallbacks test runs on its own proxy and database, because
/config/update persists router settings and cannot unset fallbacks, which
left [] and changed the no-fallback error text other tests assert
- otel excluded services tests each get a private Redis so a sibling proxy
cannot warm the budget registry cache the tenant span depends on
- Langfuse audit upstream uses unique response ids instead of len(targets),
which could repeat under concurrency and drop SpendLogs rows
* feat(sagemaker): inference components and OpenAI-compatible embeddings
Send model_id on a SageMaker embedding deployment as the invoke call's
InferenceComponentName, sync and async, and keep it out of the request body.
Add the sagemaker/openai/<endpoint> route, which sends the OpenAI embeddings
request shape ({"input": [...]} plus extra_body fields) and reads
data[].embedding and usage from the response for containers that serve the
OpenAI embeddings API. Plain sagemaker/<endpoint> deployments keep the
Hugging Face shape
* refactor(sagemaker): type validate_environment messages and cover base64 embeddings
* fix(sagemaker): name model_id in inference component errors and reject a non-string model_id on embeddings
* fix(sagemaker): fall back to the error text when SageMaker sends a null message
A ClientError whose Error.Message is null (SageMaker's InternalFailure shape) reached the
inference component hint as None and crashed with a TypeError; the message now falls back
to the error's own text on the chat and embedding paths
* test(sagemaker): audit matrix for inference-component embeddings
* fix(sagemaker): read the error status and text through one shape-checked helper
botocore's ConnectionClosedError carries response=None, so the except blocks that
read e.response.get(...) crashed with an AttributeError and the proxy answered 400
"Invalid request format" for a dropped connection. client_error_details validates
the botocore error shape with pydantic and falls back to 500 plus the error's own
text for any other shape (a missing response, an httpx Response, a plain exception).
* fix(sagemaker): drop the inference component hint from chat and derive the SDK wire expectation from the request
The chat except blocks never see SageMaker's text: HTTPHandler.post raises from
raise_for_status before the handler's own SagemakerError line, so the hint check ran
on httpx's generic "Client error '400 Bad Request' for url" line and could not match on
any chat path. The hint now names litellm.embedding only and the chat blocks keep the
status and text they had, without the dead check. The two OpenAI SDK wire tests pinned
the SDK's default encoding_format; they now expect whatever the SDK sent.
* refactor(sagemaker): meet main's per-rule lint and type ceilings
Main started gating every lint rule on its merge-base count and added LIT015
(frozen pydantic models) after this branch was cut, so the merge with main
pushed LIT001, LIT011, LIT015, BLE001 and reportArgumentType past their
ceilings. The response models are frozen with tuple fields, the OpenAI
embedding response is built with model_copy instead of writing into the
caller's object, the invoke_endpoint arguments are a TypedDict, and
optional_params and extra_body are validated into Mapping[str, object] before
they are read
* refactor(sagemaker): pick the embedding config in one place and stop pinning upstream error text
The openai/, Voyage and Cohere checks lived in both get_model_config and
get_supported_openai_params, so they now share one lookup. Tests compare error
messages against the error's own text, or against botocore's and json's own
wording, instead of copying that wording, and assert whole messages where the
text is ours
* fix(caching): key direct calls on model_id so inference components don't share cached embeddings
* test(sagemaker): name the fake-boto3 SDK test class for what it covers
* test(sagemaker): kill and stop chaos workers through the owned-proxy harness

* test(integration): build worker stacks concurrently and record proxy boot phases
The controller built every xdist worker's database, Redis, upstream and gateway
proxy one after another before any test ran, about 95 s per extensions shard,
and since every multi-worker suite is now isolated the same serial wait hits
mcp, security and cost too. The stacks now start on a thread pool bounded by
the CPU count. Each stack reads its endpoints and results directory from an
explicit environment instead of a patched os.environ, every stack that started
is registered for cleanup, and a failure in one stops the others before the
error is raised
Owned proxy startup.json now records the wall-clock spawn time, the worker
count and when the Prisma CLI child ran, when the port started accepting and
when the first worker answered readiness, and exit.json records when the stop
started and ended, so the boot time can be split and overlapping gateway boots
can be seen in the artifacts
* test(integration): boot one uvicorn worker where a test does not assert cross-worker behaviour
A 2-worker owned proxy takes about twice as long to become ready as a 1-worker
one, because the uvicorn parent imports the app and each spawned worker imports
it again. The passthrough upstream error visibility cases, the single-request
S3 dedupe cases and the single-request spend log payload cases send one or two
requests and assert on the response, the proxy log and the spend row, none of
which depends on a second worker, so they now boot the default single worker
Cases that do rely on two workers keep them, the concurrent S3 burst through a
sink outage, previous_response_id replay, response cache hits, the concurrent
spend bursts and upstream stop and recovery
* test(observability): settle OTel excluded-services traces by a quiet period instead of a full window
_trace_spans slept through its whole 15 or 30 s window on every call even when
the trace had long stopped growing. It now polls and returns once the trace
has spans and has not gained one for five tenant export intervals, and the
module pins the tenant batch exporter's schedule delay to 1 s so that bound is
set by the test rather than by the SDK default. Absence checks still run only
after the trace stopped growing, and against a build that leaks postgres spans
to the tenant they still fail
These cases also boot one uvicorn worker now. None of them asserts anything
about a second worker

* test(integration): give chaos and timing tests a harness API and gate raw signals
Chaos tests killed and suspended proxy workers with raw os.kill and psutil
calls and bounded elapsed time with fixed literals, so they raced the uvicorn
worker healthcheck and failed on slow CI boxes
OwnedProxy now offers kill_worker and replacing_worker, which return only once
a replacement answers readiness with its own pid, and suspended, which is
refused unless the proxy was launched with a lenient worker healthcheck.
timing.py bounds durations against a measured control or the injected delay.
run.py measures the proxy import time once and derives readiness deadlines and
the per-test timeout from it, writing boot-calibration.json
check_test_quality.py adds TQ010 (raw process signals) and TQ011 (elapsed time
asserted under a numeric literal) for tests/integration outside _support, and
every call site is migrated so both report zero with no suppressions
* test(integration): steer the assistants wire burst onto both workers
The mixed-status burst assumed the OS would spread 48 connections across both workers and failed when one worker took them all. Each half is now sent while the other worker is suspended, and the test asserts an exact 24 and 24 split
* test(integration): restore product-enforced timing bounds lost in the migration
Some TQ011 migrations dropped or loosened a bound whose time is the behaviour
under test. The websocket session cap only kept its floor, so a cap closing at
300 s would have passed, and several timeouts were bounded by the injected stall
instead of the configured product value
assert_enforced_within bounds an elapsed time by the configured value plus
explicit slack, with an optional floor. The websocket cap, the MCP validation
timeout, the guardrail litellm_params timeout, the prisma command timeouts, the
baseline projection lock timeout and the key metadata statement timeout use it.
The device code refusal keeps its 15 s margin, and the langfuse retried prompt
fetch is now bounded by a cold fetch of a steady prompt as well as by the
ignored retry-after
* fix(tests): wait for the supervisor to reap killed workers and fix real-kill migrations
The lenient worker healthcheck was the whole case budget, so uvicorn's supervisor sat
in a ping on the killed worker for up to that long before respawning it. It now uses
the graceful stop budget, and a worker kill returns only after the victim is reaped,
so pooled connections no longer race the dead worker's socket.
Several tests on main picked the multiprocessing resource tracker as their victim and
never killed a worker. Now that they kill a real one, presidio counts streams cut by
the death, delete_model waits for the config reload that removes a deleted model from
a replacement worker, and the wedged coordination Redis test kills before the wedge
and waits for every parked publish to fail before resuming Redis.
The redis cluster test imports the harness through the tests package so it collects
in the unit job, and the per-model fallback rig exposes the owned proxy it now needs.
* test(observability): only require S3 deliveries the killed worker could not have buffered
A real SIGKILL drops the victim's unflushed batch, so requests it already answered can't be expected to land. The test now requires every request served after the replacement to land, some of the surviving worker's burst share to land, and nothing unsent to land
---------

* test(integration): isolate every multi-worker integration suite by default
Per-worker database, Redis, upstream and proxy were opt-in for management,
accounting, providers and extensions. mcp, security and cost ran 4 to 8
xdist workers against one shared proxy, database and Redis, and those suites
hold most of the integration flakes CircleCI records. Every run with more than
one worker now builds a private stack per worker, run_integration.sh no longer
starts or exports the shared proxy, upstream, database or Redis in that mode,
and each worker's scripted upstream runs in its own process instead of a
thread in the pytest controller.
Worker gateways get what the shared proxy used to provide: a peer for
management and mcp, the scripted cost map for cost, stdio MCP servers, and
coverage for mcp. mcp coverage now measures lines through sys.monitoring,
because branch measurement on CPython 3.12 uses the trace function and that
made a covered proxy take about 4x as long to become ready, which is why the
shared mcp proxy kept missing its 90 s readiness wait. Routing parity
snapshots now also read the worker databases, since its cost and mcp runs use
several workers. The security per-worker fixture is redundant and removed
* test(integration): give the nested probe root the files a worker gateway needs
Two worker probes now run isolated, so the nested controller boots a real per-worker upstream and proxy from the probe root. That upstream imports the fake OpenAI server and the cost map modules, and the proxy reads proxy_config.yaml, none of which the probe copied. The nested run also drops INTEGRATION_COVERAGE_FILE so it never writes into an outer coverage file
* test(integration): budget nested multi-worker runs for their worker stack boots
A nested run.py database run with more than one worker now boots a private database, Redis, upstream and proxy per worker, one after another, before any case runs. The fixed 60 s subprocess timeout left no room for that, so the 2 worker probes sat at 57-60 s on CircleCI. The subprocess budget is now the old 60 s plus 30 s per worker stack, and the outer pytest timeout keeps its previous 30 s of slack on top. 30 s is the slowest worker proxy readiness recorded in startup.json on the integration-cost job of workflow e09b108b (21.6-30.3 s on 4 CPUs, 2026-10-12)

The session-scoped autouse fixture deleted DATABASE_URL and overrode LITELLM_MASTER_KEY for the rest of the worker, which broke every later test in the integration mcp suite
* test(e2e): assert the semantic filter keeps listed tools instead of a ranking
Which Datadog tool an OpenAI embedding ranks first is not something litellm owns, so the test now checks that the kept tools are a non-empty subset of the key's listing within top_k
* test(mcp): keep the in-process proxy e2e tests on one worker
loadgroup spread the file's tests across workers and interleaved them with other files, so the module-scoped in-process proxy was torn down and restarted between tests and requests timed out
* test(mcp): name the upstream requests that carried the wrong token
The bare all() assertion hid which request broke the forwarded token, which made an intermittent CircleCI failure undiagnosable

* test: migrate local_testing SDK and provider tests out of build_and_test
* test: cover sagemaker region, hf template and nova paths end to end
Region rows now go through litellm.completion on the sagemaker/ handler that
the legacy tests exercised, the prompt template test mocks the Hugging Face
tokenizer config instead of switching to custom_prompt_dict, streaming tests
assert role, finish reason and body, and Nova single turn and streaming run
through litellm.completion with a recorded request body
* test: tighten migrated integration tests for local OpenAI routes, timeouts and air-gapped boot
Split the catch-all providers migration file by behavior. The fake endpoint
route tests now hit the owned upstream directly, as the legacy harness tests
did. LM Studio asserts the outbound key, path and stripped model. The embedding
timeout test asserts the proxy maps a deployment timeout to a 408 and forwards
the read timeout to the provider client, instead of timing out the test client
The Azure streaming tool-call test also asserts the second identical stream is
served from the Redis cache with the same reassembled tool call
The Docker network test always skipped in CI because the security job has no
litellm/litellm image and no egress to pull one, and it tested a published image
rather than the checkout. It now boots the checkout proxy with every outbound
HTTP connection refused and asserts readiness, the bundled cost map fallback and
that the cost map host is the only egress attempted
* test: tighten the migrated e2e rows for local_testing SDK and provider tests
Drop the duplicated Anthropic covers marker and the Anthropic cell wrongly claimed by
the Bedrock and Vertex cache tests. Keep the file-wide Anthropic model as it is on main.
Send the 2023-06-01 version header to Anthropic through the deployment's extra_headers
so the header actually reaches the provider, and mark the creation-token case 1h then
5m like the legacy test did
Reuse the Bedrock file's own registration for the pydantic response test, swap the
hand-built PNGs for the shared cat.jpg fixture, assert the SageMaker Nova image answer
names the cat and that top_logprobs=3 is honored, and register the SageMaker Nova opt-in
markers the same way as the other opt-in markers
* test: restore lost assertions in migrated test_main tests

mock_timeout like the legacy test, and stop the mock timeout tests sleeping 3s

dummy-tool and custom_llm_provider assertions the legacy tests made, add the
async and per-model variants the legacy parametrization covered, split
streamed tool arguments across deltas, and move the Azure chat streaming
tests to the azure.py mirror file
* test: tighten migrated llms provider tests and cover legacy intents lost in the move
Strengthen the migrated fireworks, gemini, mistral, together, openai text completion, openrouter, perplexity and openai error tests so they assert what the legacy tests proved (cost, provider tag, usage-only-on-last-chunk, function_call rebuild, reasoning param, sync/async/stream error fields). Replace the huggingface and jina tests that doubled litellm code with respx end-to-end tests. * fix(otel): keep CaptureMessageContent a plain str like main
The str-to-Enum switch changed the public type: the config field's type,
repr and model_dump, a constructor that now raised on unknown values, and
unknown env values coerced to no_content. CaptureMessageContent is the plain
str subclass main ships again, the field is a str, and a
captures_span_content helper replaces the enum property. A test pins that a
published preset's capture mode stays the default for an unowned
destination, which is what main forwards.
* test(otel): drop the module-level CaptureMessageContent import the rewritten test no longer uses
* fix(lint): keep the merged branch within main's type budgets
Freeze the capture-mode settings model (LIT015) and read stored logging
entries through one typed sequence helper, so the conflicting-capture checks
add no unknown types.
* fix(otel): reject a destination capture_message_content while OTel v2 is off
The legacy OTel callbacks never read the per-destination setting, so a team
could register no_content and still export prompts and replies under the
global capture mode. Registration now refuses the var unless the proxy runs
with LITELLM_OTEL_V2=true, the same rule the Arize transport and New Relic
routing vars follow.
* test(otel): type the OTel v2 fixtures and the v2-off regression test
* fix(otel): accept only no_content and span_only on a team or key destination
OTel v2 writes captured content only to span attributes, so event_only
behaved like no_content and span_and_event like span_only on a
destination. The proxy-wide setting keeps all four values
* docs(otel): say an omitted capture setting follows the proxy's own callback for that backend

* feat(strands_decider): call a Strands Decider on an AgentCore runtime ARN
A strands_decider deployment whose api_base is a bedrock-agentcore runtime ARN now
calls InvokeAgentRuntime on that runtime, signed with SigV4 from the deployment's aws_*
params or the default chain, reuses one session per runtime, and maps the runtime's
200 error envelopes to 400, 503, or 500
* ci: run the strands_decider unit tests in the llms job
* fix(strands_decider): take the AgentCore session id from the deployment, never the caller
A caller could pick the runtime session through extra_headers, and every new id starts another microVM. The session id now comes from the deployment's agentcore_runtime_session_id (banned in request bodies) or the ARN default, and caller-supplied host, x-amz-*, and x-amzn-bedrock-agentcore-runtime-* headers are not forwarded

* test(utils): keep test_utils.py at main's formatting, only the Bedrock discovery test is new
* fix(bedrock): chain BedrockModelInfo's constructor so the passthrough config keeps its event parser
* fix(bedrock): list discovered ids without the provider prefix so partial wildcards filter
get_valid_models returns bare vendor ids for every other provider and for the static bedrock catalog, and the proxy's wildcard expansion adds the provider prefix itself. The lister prefixed its ids, so a partial wildcard like bedrock/anthropic.* never matched the proxy's filter and listed uncallable bedrock/anthropic.bedrock/<id> entries
* test(bedrock): integration cells for wildcard discovery through the proxy and the SDK
* fix(proxy): keep a partial wildcard a filter when its deployment repeats the prefix
The wildcard expansion guessed filter-or-alias by whether any provider id carried the prefix. A deployment such as model_name bedrock/anthropic.* over model bedrock/anthropic.* can only ever route names that share the prefix, so when the account has no on-demand anthropic.* id (every Anthropic model behind an inference profile) the guess fell into the alias branch and listed bedrock/anthropic.<every id>, none of them callable. A deployment whose model repeats the suffix now always filters, and lists nothing when nothing matches
* fix(proxy): prefix every discovered id under a custom wildcard prefix that starts a vendor id
* test(bedrock): Final and read-only annotations in the wildcard discovery tests

* fix(token_counter): price a base64 PDF document per page instead of as one image
A `document` or `file` block carrying inline PDF bytes was priced like a single
image (85 tokens), so when a provider's count-tokens endpoint rejected the
model (Bedrock Opus) the local fallback answered 116 for a 12-page PDF the
provider then billed at 35941 input tokens. The counter now reads the PDF with
pypdf and prices each page as its extracted text plus the image Anthropic
renders it to (1568 px long edge, 1.15 MP, 750 pixels per token), falling back
to the old image pricing when pypdf is missing or the bytes are not a readable PDF.
* refactor(token_counter): count PDF pages as they are read
Sum each page's text and rendered-image tokens straight from the pypdf
reader instead of materializing a page list first, keep the fallback
to image pricing atomic when a page cannot be read, and annotate the
new tests' locals as Final
* test(integration): audit cells for page-priced PDF documents in count_tokens, pre-call checks and spend

* feat(gemini): accept file content blocks with video_metadata on multimodal embeddings

* test(caching): type the partial-hit cache test and pin its clock
* fix(gemini-embeddings): accept the Files API URI /v1/files returns as a file block's file_id
* fix(gemini-embeddings): 400 on bad input shapes, drop unknown block keys under drop_params, cache multi-block inputs
A bare object `input` answered 500 from both the caching handler and the
transformation; both now answer 400. An unresolved `files/` reference on
vertex_ai/ answered a ValueError 500; it now answers 400 naming the gemini/
provider. An empty `format` passed through to the provider; it now answers 400
naming file.format. Unknown block keys (`detail`, an unknown video_metadata
key, a top-level block key) are dropped under drop_params, global or
per-request, and still answer 400 without it. The embedding cache counted
file blocks against `max_messages`, so a request with 5 or more blocks was
never cached; file blocks no longer count.
* fix(caching): answer 400 for an object embedding input on the cache lookup
* test(gemini-embeddings): annotate the new embedding tests with return types and Final
* test(gemini-embeddings): annotate the transformation and files batch tests with return types and Final
* test(gemini-embeddings): audit file content blocks on the wire, in the cache, in batch uploads and under chaos
Integration cells for gemini/ and vertex_ai/ embedding file blocks with video_metadata: the batchEmbedContents and embedContent wire shapes, format overrides, nested and repeated inputs, every malformed block answering 400 before any provider call, drop_params at the request, deployment and YAML levels, the OpenAI SDK sync and async clients, Redis cache fills, hits, partial hits and the metadata in the key with zero-spend hit rows, chat, responses and messages controls, the vertex_ai/ batch JSONL upload, a mixed fast/slow/malformed/dropped burst and a worker kill. The wire peer now reads chunked request bodies, which the streamed GCS media upload sends
* test(integration): treat an upload the client abandons before its terminating chunk as a disconnect, never a stored request

* feat(voyage): rebrand to VoyageAI by MongoDB, refresh model list, support both contextual input shapes
* fix(voyage): send auto-chunking params for flat contextual inputs
A flat list[str] or bare str for the contextualized embeddings endpoint is
only valid as documents with enable_auto_chunking=True and input_type=document,
or as queries with input_type=query. Default those params for non-query flat
inputs so the request matches the live API contract, while letting caller-set
values win. Nested list[list[str]] still passes through unchanged.
Tests now assert the auto-chunking params instead of only echoing inputs.
* feat(voyage): route MongoDB-issued keys to ai.mongodb.com
Mirror voyageai.util.get_default_base_url from the official SDK: a key with
the `al-` prefix is issued by MongoDB and is only valid on ai.mongodb.com,
every other key on api.voyageai.com. The choice now lives in one shared
helper that the embedding, contextual, multimodal, and rerank configs all
use for both the default base URL and the Authorization header, so the host
and the key always agree.
Also drops the voyage-4-nano and voyage-multilingual-2 model map entries:
voyage-4-nano is not served on the Voyage API and voyage-multilingual-2 is
an older model, so neither belongs in this change.
* fix(voyage): restore MongoDB routing on contextual endpoint and re-add voyage-4-nano after upstream merge
The upstream merge replaced the contextual config's get_complete_url with a
Voyage-only host and dropped voyage-4-nano from the model map. Reapply the
al- key routing via get_default_base_url and add voyage-4-nano (open-weight,
per docs.voyageai.com) so the branch keeps its task changes on top of upstream.
* fix(voyage): drop voyage-4-nano and the contextual tests upstream already covers
voyage-4-nano is not served on the Voyage API, so it does not belong in the
model map. The contextual input tests duplicate
tests/test_litellm/llms/voyage/test_voyage_contextual_embedding.py, which
landed upstream with the auto-chunking fix this branch was carrying.
* test(voyage): drop sys.path.insert from the voyage common utils test
* fix(voyage): route rerank on the key it authenticates with
get_complete_url picked the rerank host from the environment while the auth
header carried the request key, so an explicit MongoDB-issued key was posted
to api.voyageai.com. validate_environment now hands the resolved key to the
config instance and get_complete_url reads it back, so the host and the
credential always come from one key. The config is built per request, so
nothing carries over between them.

* fix(responses): map input_audio blocks in the chat-to-Responses bridge
* fix(responses): honor base_model when deciding to drop input_audio under drop_params
* fix(responses): carry a dropped audio part's cache breakpoint to the preceding part
Dropping an input_audio part under drop_params lost the prompt_cache_breakpoint
riding on it, so an injected system marker landing on a trailing audio block left
prompt_cache_options explicit with no breakpoint on the wire. The marker now moves
to the nearest preceding kept part when that part has none.
Update the CircleCI-only Responses bridge wire tests that pinned input_audio to
its stringified input_text shape: video_url becomes the stringified kind so the
marker-on-stringified-block coverage survives, and dedicated audio tests assert
the forwarded part and the drop_params carry-over.
* refactor(responses): carry dropped audio markers in one pass
Replace the per-block slice that re-read the rest of the content list for
every retained part with a single reverse scan, and skip the copy for a
message that carries no audio part. Type the unit test helper's messages
as a sequence of mappings instead of bare lists.
* test(responses): add integration cells for input_audio parts through the bridge
Cover the chat-to-Responses bridge's input_audio handling on the real proxy: the part is forwarded
as input_audio without drop_params and dropped under drop_params unless the model or its base_model
supports audio input, across httpx, the OpenAI SDK (sync stream and async), the Anthropic SDK, native
/v1/responses, tool and assistant messages, hostile input_audio values, duplicate parts, an audio-only
message, marker carry-over, a null drop_params, a global litellm_settings.drop_params, a mixed burst,
and a burst with dropped upstream connections
* test(responses): check every upstream attempt of a dropped connection
The dropped-connection cell required exactly one upstream POST per call,
which tied it to the retry policy instead of the fix. It now groups the
recorded POSTs by marker, requires one attempt per answered call, and
checks that every attempt of a doomed call carries the dropped audio shape.
* fix(responses): keep cache breakpoints on requests that reach the Responses API
The chat-completions bridge rebuilt every content block without the
prompt_cache_breakpoint marker the cache-control hook had just placed on it, so
the request went out with prompt_cache_options set to explicit mode and nothing
actually marked. Explicit mode caches only what is marked, so those deployments
lost the implicit caching they were getting before the injection point was added
The native surface had a second miss. The bridging check looked the provider
config up with the still-prefixed model while the config keys on the bare one,
so every bedrock_mantle model read as having no native Responses support, and
role-targeted injection points were deferred to a chat-completions pass that
never runs for them
* fix(responses): keep prompt cache breakpoint on stringified content blocks
* test: cover the responses/ routing prefix in the native cache point case
* fix(responses): keep only the fallback-branch marker carry, main already routes the hook
#42281 landed the text, image_url and file branch carry and the implicit default
on main, and the Responses routing lookup this branch changed has no observable
effect there, so the PR shrinks to the unknown-block fallback branch and its
regression test
* fix(responses): drop a malformed prompt_cache_breakpoint under drop_params in the chat-to-Responses bridge
* fix(responses): accept the 30m prompt_cache_breakpoint ttl under drop_params
OpenAI's Responses API takes a ttl of 30m on an explicit breakpoint marker, so the drop_params validation keeps it instead of stripping it as an unknown key. Trims the bridge test docstrings to the dated vendor citation.
* test(integration): audit cells for prompt_cache_breakpoint through the chat-to-Responses bridge
Adds the /audit cells for the bridge's prompt_cache_breakpoint carry: valid and malformed markers on every
carrying block kind and on tool and assistant content, the drop_params on and off contract, the hook-injected
system marker, the Anthropic SDK path through the Responses adapter, upstream errors, idempotent spend rows,
and the chaos cells (mixed burst, upstream outage, slow streams, worker SIGKILL and a proxy restart mid burst),
all against a scripted Responses endpoint with the request it received read back by response id
* test(integration): give every scripted responses reply its own id
The prompt-cache-breakpoint audit's scripted upstream minted the response id
from the request's marker, so three identical marked requests shared one id.
The spend-log writer skips rows whose request_id already landed, and the
idempotent-logging cell saw one row for three calls on every leg. The upstream
now mints a unique id per reply like a real provider, and the cells match a
response to its request by the marker inside that id.
* fix(vertex_ai): dial the multi-region Live API host for realtime sessions
A realtime deployment with vertex_location us or eu dialed
{location}-aiplatform.googleapis.com, which Vertex does not serve for a
multi-region, so the WebSocket handshake came back 404. The URL builder now
resolves its host through the shared Vertex host resolver, which already
maps us and eu to aiplatform.{geo}.rep.googleapis.com and leaves regions
and global unchanged.
* test(vertex_ai): annotate the realtime multi-region URL tests
* fix(vertex_ai): skip the TLS argument when the realtime api_base is plain ws://
The Vertex realtime session and health-check connects passed the shared
TLS context to every websocket dial, so an api_base the transformation
already maps from http:// to ws:// failed with 'ssl argument is
incompatible with a ws:// URI' before any frame was sent. The OpenAI
realtime handler already skips the argument for ws://; the shared helper
now does the same for the Vertex path
* test(integration): cover the Vertex realtime multi-region host through the proxy
Fourteen cells on the scripted Gemini Live upstream: api_base overrides for
us, eu, us-central1 and global complete a turn; malformed locations are
refused before any dial; a missing location defaults to us-central1; the
realtime health check handshakes the override host and reports a malformed
location without dialing; a refused handshake reaches the client and the
next session connects; twelve concurrent sessions across locations each
reach the upstream once; an upstream outage closes every open session and
the proxy recovers
* test(realtime): type the health-check helpers and flatten the burst order
* test(http_handler): type the realtime TLS test signatures
* fix(streaming): stop re-wrapping a bridged stream's MidStreamFallbackError
A chat completion served over the Responses API already gets its mid-stream
error wrapped by the Responses iterator. The chat stream wrapper wrapped it a
second time, and the router unwraps one layer, so the client saw the inner
sentinel (message prefixed litellm.MidStreamFallbackError, type null) instead
of the provider's RateLimitError. The chat wrapper now re-raises an already
wrapped error untouched.
* test(streaming): type the bridged stream regression test's locals
* fix(streaming): rebuild a bridged mid-stream error with the outer wrapper's bookkeeping
* test(integration): cover the bridged stream error typing on every surface
Checked-in audit cells for the Responses bridge: chat completions through the OpenAI SDK and httpx, /v1/messages through httpx and the Anthropic SDK, native /v1/responses, the litellm and Router SDK stream paths, and a chaos file with a mixed burst, a worker SIGKILL and a proxy SIGTERM against an owned two-worker proxy. Every cell scripts the provider through a wire server and asserts the caller's body, the upstream's received requests and the spend row by id.
* test(integration): read bridged chat content through one helper
* test(integration): build the bridged fallback config without mutating the loaded yaml

* fix(realtime): skip guardrail VAD session.update injection for transcription sessions
Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(realtime): flag transcription sessions from the route intent and backend events only
A client session.update declaring session.type transcription on a voice
session no longer sets the transcription flag, so it cannot switch off the
guardrail's create_response gate or skip the transcript guardrail
* fix(realtime): flag transcription sessions from provider-transformed session events
* test(integration): cover transcription sessions skipping the VAD auto-response injection
Adds the realtime transcript guardrail audit cells: transcription sessions on all three
realtime routes, the OpenAI SDK, the beta protocol, the whisper default deployment, the Azure
GA path over a TLS scripted upstream, and Meta Muse push-to-talk sessions keep the client's
session.update verbatim and get their transcript, while voice sessions keep the injected
create_response gate and a client-declared transcription type no longer bypasses it. Sad,
edge, and chaos cells cover malformed session fields, duplicate and older backend session
events, unauthenticated upgrades, repeated sessions, an upstream outage under open sessions,
and a worker kill with a proxy restart.
The scripted upstream now answers session.update the way the vendor does (session.updated,
or the missing turn_detection.type and session-type errors), records every websocket frame,
serves the Azure and Muse realtime paths, and can run over TLS from an owned upstream.
