fix(auth): set budget_reset_at when JWT upsert seeds a budget_duration (#34050)
The JWT first-login upsert in get_user_object creates the user row by merging default_internal_user_params straight into table.create, so a configured budget_duration landed with budget_reset_at NULL. The reset sweep now heals such rows (PR #33623), but until the next sweep the row shows a null reset time and its first window starts at the sweep instead of one full duration after creation. Compute budget_reset_at at creation like every other write path (/user/new, UI SSO, /key/generate, /team/new) already does |

fix(proxy): require admin opt-in for request-body bedrock_tags
Caller-supplied bedrock_tags land as AWS resource tags under the proxy's AWS identity, letting an authenticated caller forge ownership or cost-allocation labels. Add bedrock_tags to _BANNED_REQUEST_BODY_PARAMS so per-request tags need general_settings.allow_client_side_credentials or configurable_clientside_auth_params on the deployment, matching the aws_bedrock_project_id precedent. Deployment-level bedrock_tags in litellm_params are unaffected. Also stop an explicit empty bedrock_tags list in litellm_params from falling through to optional_params |

fix(proxy): stop treating upstream model body field as a LiteLLM model on auth-enforced pass-through routes (#33710)
* fix(proxy): stop treating upstream model body field as a LiteLLM model on auth-enforced pass-through routes An auth: true user-defined pass-through endpoint runs full virtual-key auth, and get_model_from_request unconditionally extracted the request body model field, so key/team/user/project model allowlist checks rejected requests whose model only exists upstream (key_model_access_denied), even when the key was explicitly granted the route via allowed_passthrough_routes. The pass-through route registry moves to a leaf module (route_registry.py) that the auth layer can import without re-entering the pass_through_endpoints -> user_api_key_auth -> auth_utils import cycle. get_model_from_request now returns None for routes registered as user-defined pass-through endpoints (exact and subpath), which skips model allowlist and per-model budget enforcement on those routes while key auth, allowed_passthrough_routes, and spend/budget checks stay intact. Built-in provider passthrough routes (/vertex_ai, /gemini, ...) keep model enforcement. Resolves LIT-4299 * fix(proxy): key pass-through model-access skip on the dispatched endpoint, not the request path Addresses a model-authorization bypass: the first version decided whether to skip model-allowlist extraction by matching the request path against the pass-through route registry. That ignored the HTTP method and, more importantly, whether the request was actually dispatched to a pass-through handler. A custom pass-through whose path collides with a built-in route (e.g. /v1/chat/completions, or an include_subpath prefix of one) still writes a registry entry even though FastAPI serves the built-in handler, so a normal request to that route had its model checks skipped and could reach a model outside the key/team/user/project allowlist. The skip is now keyed off the FastAPI-resolved endpoint. create_pass_through_route tags its handler with LITELLM_PASS_THROUGH_ENDPOINT_MARKER, and get_model_from_request returns None only when request.scope["endpoint"] carries that marker. Because routing runs before auth dependencies, this reflects the handler that actually serves the request: on a collision the built-in handler is dispatched and carries no marker, so model enforcement stays on. This also removes the need for the separate route_registry module, so that extraction is reverted. Regression tests cover a pass-through-dispatched request (model suppressed), a built-in-dispatched request on the same path (model still enforced), and the no-request budget path. Resolves LIT-4299 |

fix(proxy): stop stale auth cache re-publish so key updates and deletes propagate across replicas (#33565)
With enable_redis_auth_cache and multiple replicas, /key/update and
/key/delete delete the Redis auth blob and the handling pod's in-memory
entry, but two read-path writers re-published the stale blob from any other
replica's per-pod memory back to Redis with a fresh 60s TTL on every
request: the post-auth re-cache in user_api_key_auth and the spend writeback
in update_cache. Replicas whose in-memory entries expired then re-primed
themselves from the poisoned Redis entry, so key limit and access changes
never took effect fleet-wide while traffic continued, and a deleted key kept
authenticating.
The auth object is now written only by the DB-load paths
(IdentityStore._resolve_key, get_key_object): the post-auth re-cache is
removed outright (even a local-only write could race an invalidation and
resurrect a revoked key on this worker) and spend tracking no longer writes
the auth object back at all; spend is tracked through the spend🔑*
counters. The remaining spend writebacks for user, team, end-user, and tag
objects become local-only so they cannot republish stale management objects
either, with one deliberate exception: the proxy-wide
{litellm_proxy_admin_name}:spend scalar keeps its shared Redis write because
the global max_budget check reads it between authoritative DB reloads, and
it carries no limits or permissions so sharing it cannot resurrect an
invalidated auth blob.
DualCache's redis-to-memory read backfill also ignored default_in_memory_ttl,
pinning backfilled entries for InMemoryCache's 600s default instead of the
configured 60s auth TTL; the backfill now injects the configured default like
every write path already does, so a replica primed from Redis converges
within the auth cache TTL as well.
Consolidates the sibling stale-auth-recache branch; the delete-propagation
case is the duplicate ticket LIT-4350.

fix(auth): scope the JWT enterprise gate to actual JWTs (#33296)
With enable_jwt_auth enabled but no enterprise license (premium_user False), the JWT premium check fired on every request before the token was inspected, so the master key, sk- virtual keys, and the encrypted CLI/UI SSO session token that `lite login` issues all 401'd with "JWT Auth is an enterprise only feature" and were never decoded. That broke `lite login`, `lite claude`, and the proxy master key on any deployment that turned JWT auth on without a license. Move the premium check inside the is_jwt branch so it gates only real JWTs. Non-JWT credentials fall through to their own auth paths regardless of license; actual JWTs still require premium, so the enterprise gate is unchanged for the feature it protects. |

fix(proxy)!: enforce user budget on team keys (read-time + reservation) with UI opt-out (#32005)
* fix: enforce user budget on team keys User budget was skipped when the key belonged to a team, letting users exceed their personal budget by going through a team key. Remove the team_object guard in _user_max_budget_check so user budgets are always enforced. Add skip_user_budget_on_team_key general_settings flag to opt back into the old behavior. fix(mcp): classify get_user_object's wrapped DB outage across the exception chain
get_user_object catches every DB failure in a broad except and re-raises a bare ValueError (litellm/proxy/auth/auth_checks.py), so a real outage and a missing user look identical and the original error survives only as __context__. The dcr_bridge admission path keyed its 503-vs-401 decision on the exception type, so a transient outage during a user-subject reload surfaced as a 401 rather than a retryable 503, and the regression test injected a raw ConnectionError, a shape get_user_object never produces, so it passed on a fiction Add PrismaDBExceptionHandler.is_database_service_unavailable_error_in_chain, which walks __cause__/__context__ (bounded and cycle-safe) the PEP 3134 way, and route _raise_503_if_db_unavailable through it. Move the user's object_permission resolution inside the single classified try so an outage there is a 503 too, never an opaque 500. Pin get_user_object's wrapping with a contract test that drives the real function, and drive the reload tests with that same faithful shape so a chain-blind regression fails them |

refactor(auth): resolve PATCH team org-context from the route template
Replace the request.path_params read (and its defensive getattr guard) with
the route template. A real Starlette request always exposes path_params, but
common_checks runs on lightweight request doubles that don't, so reading it
directly forced a getattr workaround that only existed to tolerate those
doubles.
Instead, match the route template (/team/{team_id}) to identify the RESTful
update route and take the team id from the last path segment. This drops the
path_params dependency entirely, and because the template distinguishes the
PATCH route from its single-segment siblings (/team/new, /team/list, ...), it
also avoids a spurious team lookup those routes would otherwise trigger if we
matched the resolved path shape alone.

feat(team): let org admins reach PATCH /team/{team_id} like POST /team/update
Wire the coarse route gate so PATCH /team/{team_id} is reachable by exactly the roles that can call POST /team/update: proxy admins, org admins of the team's own organization, and JWT admins. Regular internal users and view-only proxy admins stay blocked, matching the existing endpoint
Because the team id lives in the path rather than the body, the org-context resolver now also reads it from path_team_id for the bare /team/{team_id} route, so an org admin's organization is resolved and injected the same way it already is for POST /team/update. /team/{team_id} is added to management_routes rather than the role-agnostic self_managed_routes; the latter would have opened POST /team/new to any authenticated user through the shared /team/{team_id} path pattern

fix(proxy): resolve team org from team_id so org admins can update team budgets
An org admin updating a team budget from the Hub UI was rejected with 401, because the route gate only recognizes an org admin when the request body carries organization_id while the UI sends team_id. For /team/update, resolve the target team's organization_id from team_id before the gate runs, so an org admin of the team's own org clears the org-scoped branch without the client passing organization_id. Team admins and cross-org admins stay denied at the gate, and callers that already pass organization_id are unaffected, so the existing /team/update authorization matrix is unchanged |

feat(budget): throttle keys after spend limit instead of revoking access (#31300)
Add an opt-in mode so a key that exceeds its own max_budget is throttled to a globally configured percentage of its TPM/RPM instead of being blocked entirely. A new litellm_settings global, budget_exceeded_throttle_percentage, sets the fraction (e.g. 0.1 = 10%). A per-key throttle_on_budget_exceeded flag (stored in key metadata via the existing management-endpoint metadata routing) opts the key in. When both are set and the key is over budget, the budget check records the percentage on a request-scoped budget_throttle_pct instead of raising, and the rate limiter scales the key's configured TPM/RPM by it. Keys without the flag keep hard-blocking; team/user/org budgets are unaffected. The throttle is recomputed from the key's original limits on every request and the decision is cleared before the auth object is cached, so it never compounds across requests. Both the budget read-time check and the budget reservation path honor the opt-in, and both the v3 and legacy rate limiters apply the scaling. Enabling throttle_on_budget_exceeded is proxy-admin only. It converts an admin-imposed hard budget block into a soft throttle that keeps spending past max_budget, so a non-admin must not be able to self-opt-in and bypass their own spend cap. Both /key/generate and /key/update reject a non-admin setting it to true (update only gates the transition to enabled, so a non-admin can still edit other fields and turn the flag off). This matches the feature being wholly proxy-admin operated: the global percentage is admin-only too. A key that opts in but has no TPM or RPM limit has nothing to scale, so it stays hard-blocked rather than serving unlimited requests past its budget (fail-safe). The global budget_exceeded_throttle_percentage is configurable from the admin UI (Settings -> General Settings), persisted through litellm_settings so it survives a restart, not only from config.yaml. Resolves LIT-3894. Scope for LIT-3893. |

feat(jwt): fall back to DB team memberships when JWT has no team claims (#31356)
* feat(jwt): fall back to DB team memberships when JWT has no team claims
* style(jwt): use PEP 585/604 annotations in DB team fallback to clear strict gate
* fix(jwt): preserve DB teams on no-claim sync, model-gate DB fallback, stop team-id leak
When fallback_to_db_teams is enabled and a JWT carries no team claims,
sync_user_role_and_teams previously computed teams_to_remove as every existing
DB membership and wiped the user out of all their teams on each request, which
also left the DB fallback nothing to resolve. Skip team removal in that case so
memberships survive and the fallback can attribute usage.
Apply the same per-team model-access check the claim-based path enforces when
selecting a DB fallback team, so a team's models restriction is no longer
bypassed; a team that cannot serve the requested model is skipped in favor of
one that can.
Drop the user's team-id list from the x-litellm-team-id membership 403 detail so
a valid-JWT caller can no longer enumerate team IDs.
* fix(jwt): load team membership on DB fallback; scope header check to provisional teams
The DB-team fallback resolved a team but never loaded its team membership
row, so per-team membership budget limits were silently skipped on that
path. _resolve_db_team_fallback now fetches the resolved team's membership
when a user_id is known and returns it, matching the claim-based path so
downstream LiteLLM_TeamMembership budget enforcement works there too.
The provisional x-litellm-team-id validation also fired on any non-None
team_id, including an RBAC role-derived one, which 403'd RBAC team flows
when the asserted team was not also a DB membership. It now runs only when
team_id actually came from the header (team_id == header_team_id).
* fix(jwt): surface DB-fallback membership lookup failures at warning level
A transient get_team_membership failure on the DB team fallback path is
recoverable: the team is still resolved and the request proceeds, just
without per-team membership budget enforcement for that request. Logging
that at debug hid a silent budget-enforcement gap from operators, so it now
logs at warning and states that enforcement was skipped. Behavior is
otherwise unchanged: the resolved team is returned with a None membership
rather than failing the request, covered by
test_resolve_db_team_fallback_survives_membership_lookup_error.
* fix(jwt-auth): tighten db-team fallback gating and passthrough enforcement
Resolves four issues in the fallback_to_db_teams path:
- _resolve_db_team_fallback now surfaces a model-access denial when memberships
exist but none can access the requested model, instead of always returning
the no-membership message
- auth_builder gates the fallback on real JWT team claims via
get_all_jwt_team_ids so a configured team_id_default does not silently route
claimless tokens to the default team
- A team selected only via _resolve_db_team_fallback is re-validated against
the team's allowed_passthrough_routes; the earlier gate ran while team_id
was still None
- sync_user_role_and_teams considers both plural and singular team claim
shapes when reconciling DB memberships so singular-only tokens
(Okta/Auth0 defaults) no longer leave stale teams behind
* fix(jwt): don't upsert a provisional x-litellm-team-id before membership check
When fallback_to_db_teams is on and the JWT carries no team claims, an
x-litellm-team-id header is accepted provisionally and only validated against
the user's DB memberships later in auth_builder. With team_id_upsert also
enabled, get_team_object ran the upsert on that unvalidated header team first,
so an attacker-supplied header could create an orphaned team row before the
403 membership check. Suppress the upsert whenever the team is provisional
(db_team_fallback), since a genuine membership team already exists and an
invalid one must not be created. Regression:
test_auth_builder_provisional_header_team_is_not_upserted.
* fix(jwt): pin RBAC-asserted team against db-team-fallback header override
When a JWT carries an RBAC team role but no group claims, auth_builder already
sets team_id from the RBAC object_id. db_team_fallback still evaluated true
there, so the provisional x-litellm-team-id path accepted a header team and
silently overrode the RBAC-asserted team with any team the caller belonged to.
Gate db_team_fallback on team_id being unset, and drive the header's provisional
acceptance off db_team_fallback rather than the raw flag, so an RBAC token plus
a non-claim header team is rejected with 403 instead of substituting the team.
Regression: test_auth_builder_header_cannot_override_rbac_team_under_db_fallback.
* fix(jwt): scope dual-claim membership sync to fallback_to_db_teams
The membership sync read both plural and singular JWT team claims via
get_all_jwt_team_ids unconditionally, which silently changed reconciliation
for every deployment using sync_user_role_and_teams, not just those opting
into fallback_to_db_teams: a singular-only IdP token that previously stripped
all DB teams would now be recognized. Gate the dual-claim read on
fallback_to_db_teams so flag-off deployments keep the upstream plural-only
behavior, honoring the PR's contract that existing deployments are unchanged.
Regression: test_sync_user_role_and_teams_singular_claim_only_recognized_under_flag.
* fix(jwt): drop user team IDs from db-fallback model-access 403 detail
The model-access-denied 403 in _resolve_db_team_fallback echoed the user's
full DB team-id list in its detail. It is only the caller's own memberships,
but it is inconsistent with the membership-validation 403 in the same feature
that was deliberately scrubbed of team IDs. Replace the enumerated list with a
generic "no team you are a member of has access" message. Regression extends
test_resolve_db_team_fallback_distinguishes_no_membership_vs_model_denied to
assert the team id is absent from the detail.
* fix(jwt): keep db-team fallback off for alias-only tokens
* test(jwt): cover alias-only token skipping db-team fallback

_enforce_key_and_fallback_model_access and can_key_call_resolved_model both unconditionally skipped key-level model checks whenever all-team-models was present, without verifying the key actually belongs to a team. PR #29746 fixed the listing path (get_key_models) but these two call-path checks were left untouched, letting teamless keys call any model via /chat/completions while seeing an empty model list. Add team_id is not None guard to both bypass conditions so teamless keys fall through to can_key_call_model, which already correctly rejects unresolvable all-team-models sentinels Co-authored-by: mateo <mateo@berri.ai> Co-authored-by: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> |

Two NVIDIA-Riva-specific fields consumed by the audio-transcription handler via the provider's `optional_params` passthrough were not covered by the proxy's existing banned-request-body list or the admin-config clearing list applied on `api_base` BYOK override: * `nvcf_function_id` * `use_ssl` Add both to `_BANNED_REQUEST_BODY_PARAMS` in `litellm/proxy/auth/auth_utils.py` and to the kwargs-only list in `_admin_config_fields_to_clear_on_base_override()` in `litellm/router_utils/clientside_credential_handler.py`, next to the analogous provider-specific entries already there (`aws_bedrock_*`, OCI provider fields, etc.). perf(auth): gather independent pre-call budget-enforcement reads (#31604)
increment_spend_counters was parallelized in #31578, but the dominant per-request cost under high concurrency is the pre-call budget enforcement in common_checks, which still ran a Redis-first get_current_spend per scope (team, team windows, key windows, org, tag, user, team member, end user) one sequential await after another inside the auth span. The per-scope reads target distinct counter keys with no cross-scope ordering dependency, so they now run concurrently under asyncio.gather. Key metadata.tags injection still runs before the gather so the tag budget check sees it, and every scope settles before the first error in scope-priority order propagates, preserving the previous rejection semantics. fix(proxy/auth): honor user_api_key_cache_ttl for management-object cache writes (#31504)
general_settings.user_api_key_cache_ttl was ignored for every management-object write into user_api_key_cache. The configured value is propagated to the cache's default_in_memory_ttl at startup, but DualCache only applies that default when no explicit ttl kwarg is passed, and every management-object writer passed ttl=DEFAULT_MANAGEMENT_OBJECT_IN_MEMORY_CACHE_TTL (60s), which always won. So keys, teams, users, budgets, object permissions, vector stores, JWT user syncs and MCP caches all expired after 60s regardless of the setting. Adds get_management_object_ttl(cache) in user_api_key_cache.py, which returns the configured default_in_memory_ttl and falls back to the 60s constant only when no default is set, and routes every management-object writer through it. The helper takes a DualCache so it works at the many call sites that are typed UserApiKeyCache but exercised with a bare DualCache. Also covers the spend-update writeback in update_cache (async_set_cache_pipeline), which hardcoded ttl=60 on the same key/user/team objects and reset an active key's cache entry back to 60s on every priced request, so the configured TTL was never observed for keys receiving traffic. fix(auth): cache auth-path team object under canonical team_id key (#31418)
The auth builder cached the team object under the raw `valid_token.team_id`,
while `get_team_object`, `_cache_team_object`, and `_update_team_cache` all read
and write under `team_id:{id}`. The raw-key write was therefore never served
back, and on a non-team (personal) key, whose team_id is None, the original
unguarded version passed a None key straight to the cache layer; the in-memory
cache tolerates None keys but Redis rejects them with a NoneType key error, so
with `enable_redis_auth_cache: true` the team object never reached the L2 cache
and every request fell back to Postgres.
Write under the canonical `team_id:{id}` key, keeping the existing guard that
skips the write when team_id is None. Add a regression test that drives the real
auth builder for a team-scoped key against an in-memory cache and asserts the
team object is served back under `team_id:{id}` and never under the raw team_id
or a None key.

fix(cli): mint per-session agent credential on lite login (#31072)
* fix(cli): mint per-session agent credential on lite login
The `lite login` command was producing a shared UI session token that broke agent use in three ways: a $0.25 budget cap (from max_ui_session_budget) that killed agent sessions in minutes, a fixed identity "cli-jwt-token" shared across every user preventing per-session spend attribution, and auth gated behind EXPERIMENTAL_UI_LOGIN so the token was rejected on default deployments.
This fixes all three. Each login now generates a unique cli-session-{uuid} token with no per-key budget cap (enforced via shared team/user counters instead), and the decrypt path activates for any non-sk- token without requiring EXPERIMENTAL_UI_LOGIN.
* fix(cli): address review feedback on EXPERIMENTAL_UI_LOGIN gate and e2e test
Restore EXPERIMENTAL_UI_LOGIN=false as an explicit opt-out: operators who set it to false keep the old boundary; unset (new default) and true both attempt NaCl decryption, which fails closed for non-blob tokens.
In the e2e test: replace the silent Redis fallback with pytest.skip so a missing Redis instance is explicit rather than silently degrading to a directly-minted token. Write the seeded flow back as JSON (proxy reads it via json.loads on cache fetch) instead of Python repr, and build the updated flow immutably.
* fix(key-management): cap CLI session token delegation budget to team ceiling
A CLI session token intentionally carries max_budget=None to avoid a per-session LLM spend cap. The key-generation delegation check (GHSA-q775-qw9r-2r4g) previously skipped non-admin callers with max_budget=None, treating them as having unlimited delegation authority. This allowed any internal user with a lite login session to mint virtual keys with arbitrary budgets.
Adds is_session_token=True to UserAPIKeyAuth for CLI session tokens and uses the caller's team budget as the delegation ceiling in that case, so the effective limit is min(requested_budget, team.max_budget) rather than unbounded.
* chore: regenerate dashboard OpenAPI types
The is_session_token field added to UserAPIKeyAuth cascades to the
dashboard schema. Regenerate types from the updated OpenAPI spec.
* fix(key-management): block personal key budget delegation from CLI session tokens
When team_table is None (personal key, no team_id in request), the personal key
has no team-budget enforcement at request time. A session token therefore cannot
delegate any explicit max_budget for a personal key -- that would open a budget
bypass path. Block the request with a clear 400 directing the caller to use a
team_id instead.
* test(auth): add unit coverage for non-admin CLI session token production path
* fix(type-check): use model_validate in _return_user_api_key_auth_obj to fix reportArgumentType gate
UserAPIKeyAuth(**user_api_key_kwargs) spread triggers a basedpyright
reportArgumentType error for each named field in UserAPIKeyAuth because
the dict's inferred value type (str | Span | LitellmUserRoles | Unknown)
is not assignable to each field's specific type. Adding is_session_token:
bool introduced +2 more such errors, breaching the gate cap.
model_validate accepts an untyped dict without per-field argument checking,
which eliminates the +2 new errors and also ratchets down the pre-existing
333 errors at those call sites. basedpyright-code-budget.json is updated
to reflect the new lower baseline (1814, down from 1934).
* fix(type-check): ratchet down reportArgumentType baseline only
The previous lint-budget-update captured all baselines from the local
environment, raising many ceilings vs the merge-base and failing the
non-gating budget_ratchet_check. Restore staging's values for every
rule and only lower reportArgumentType (1934 -> 1814) to reflect the
reduction from switching to model_validate in _return_user_api_key_auth_obj.
* fix(auth): set max_budget on CLI session token to enforce max_ui_session_budget
CLI session tokens were missing max_budget, so _virtual_key_max_budget_check
had no per-session ceiling to enforce. Operators relying on max_ui_session_budget
could be bypassed for the full token lifetime. Mirrors the existing UI token path.
* revert(auth): remove max_ui_session_budget from CLI session token
max_ui_session_budget defaults to $0.25 and is sized for the UI chat
pane (10-min sessions). CLI sessions are 24-hour tokens for real work;
capping them at that ceiling would throttle users under their actual
user/team budget. Budget enforcement for CLI sessions is via the shared
user and team counters as originally intended.
* fix(auth): cap CLI session at max_ui_session_budget only when user and team have no budget
When neither the user nor their team has a budget configured, CLI sessions
were fully uncapped. The poll endpoint now looks up the real user and team
objects from DB; if both have no max_budget, it passes litellm.max_ui_session_budget
as the token's per-key ceiling. Users or teams that already have a budget
configured are unaffected and continue to rely on the shared counters.
* fix(auth): fix black formatting and update test mock for cli_poll_key budget lookup
The get_user_object and get_team_object async calls in cli_poll_key were
not mocked in the existing test, causing MagicMock await errors. Patch
both functions at the auth_checks module level. Also apply black formatting
to ui_sso.py which CI rejected.
* fix(auth): skip fallback budget cap when team lookup fails for cli session token
* test(auth): pin cli session budget cap to user/team budget presence
The session_max_budget fallback in cli_poll_key only applied
max_ui_session_budget when neither the user nor the resolved team had a
budget. The existing coverage exercised only the team-lookup-failure
branch. Add two regression tests: a user with a configured budget must
not receive the fallback cap, and a session with no user and no team
budget must fall back to max_ui_session_budget. Mutating either guard
out of the branch now fails these tests.
* fix: remove CLI poll session budget cap
* revert(auth): restore CLI session fallback budget cap

feat(mcp): add mcp_xff_num_trusted_hops to harden X-Forwarded-For client IP resolution (#31257)
* feat(mcp): add mcp_xff_num_trusted_hops to harden XFF client IP resolution MCP per-server IP access control reads the client IP from X-Forwarded-For and trusts the leftmost entry. Behind an append-style proxy or load balancer (AWS ALB, nginx with $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for, HAProxy, Envoy, Cloudflare), a client can prepend an arbitrary value to the header, so the leftmost entry is attacker-controllable even when the direct peer is a trusted proxy. An attacker can therefore spoof an internal IP and reach servers marked available_on_public_internet=false. This adds an optional mcp_xff_num_trusted_hops general setting modelled on Envoy's xff_num_trusted_hops. When set to N, the client IP is read N entries from the right of the chain (where N is the number of trusted appending proxies in front of the gateway) instead of the leftmost value, so any entries a client prepends are ignored. It composes with mcp_trusted_proxy_ranges, which still validates the direct peer, and only takes effect once that check passes; without a validated direct peer the gateway keeps failing closed, so hop counting cannot be abused by a direct-to-pod attacker. The chain must contain at least N valid entries or resolution fails closed. Default is unset, preserving existing behaviour. * chore(ui): regenerate dashboard schema for mcp_xff_num_trusted_hops * fix(mcp): warn when mcp_xff_num_trusted_hops is below the minimum A 0 or negative value is silently treated as disabled, which could leave an operator believing they enabled append-style X-Forwarded-For hardening while client IP resolution stays on the spoofable leftmost value. Emit a warning, consistent with how the module already surfaces invalid CIDR config, so the misconfiguration is visible in logs. * fix(mcp): reject mcp_xff_num_trusted_hops < 1 at config-parse time Add a ge=1 bound to the ConfigGeneralSettings field so the update_config_general_settings path rejects 0 and negative values with a clear validation error instead of accepting them, and self-documents the valid range. The runtime warning stays as defense-in-depth for raw-dict config that bypasses model validation. * style(mcp): black-format ip_address_utils.py * fix(mcp): fail closed when mcp_xff_num_trusted_hops is set but invalid A present-but-invalid mcp_xff_num_trusted_hops (non-integer, or below 1) previously made _resolve_num_trusted_hops return None, which the caller treated identically to "unset" and silently fell back to the legacy leftmost X-Forwarded-For value. An operator who set the value to harden client IP resolution but typo'd it would get weaker security than before, with no fail-closed signal. Model the setting as a tagged union (_HopCountUnset, _HopCountInvalid, _HopCount) so the three states are distinct: unset keeps the legacy path, a valid count drives hop-counting, and an invalid value fails closed (returns "") instead of reverting to the spoofable leftmost address. The caller matches on the union exhaustively. Add a parametrized regression test asserting get_mcp_client_ip returns "" for 0, -1, "abc", and 1.5 even with a spoofed internal leftmost entry, and update the resolver unit tests for the new return type. |

fix(mcp): warn loudly when X-Forwarded-For is present but use_x_forwarded_for is off (#31266)
* fix(mcp): warn loudly when X-Forwarded-For is present but use_x_forwarded_for is off When a request carries an X-Forwarded-For header but use_x_forwarded_for is unset, get_mcp_client_ip silently falls back to the direct peer's IP (the load balancer / reverse proxy). That peer almost always sits inside mcp_internal_ip_ranges, so the 'Internal network only' (available_on_public_internet: false) restriction trusts every external caller as internal and effectively exposes those servers. Emit a one-shot loud error pointing the operator at use_x_forwarded_for instead of hard-failing: on a deployment with no load balancer, a crafted X-Forwarded-For header must not be able to take the service down, and a one-shot log keeps a flood of crafted headers from spamming the logs. * fix(mcp): re-arm XFF-disabled warning on config change and harden test assertion Address PR review: tie the one-shot warning flag to the observed use_x_forwarded_for value so it re-arms whenever the setting is seen enabled, restoring the diagnostic on a later rollback to disabled. Also assert against str(call_args) so the test survives a positional-to-keyword logger refactor. |

chore: litellm oss staging (#30968)
* fix: correct amazon.titan-embed-text-v2 input price to $0.02/1M tokens (#29693)
* fix: correct amazon.titan-embed-text-v2 input price to $0.02/1M tokens
* test: scope local cost map env var with monkeypatch to avoid test pollution
* fix(sensitive_data_masker): fully mask secrets at or below the reveal threshold (#30764)
* fix(sensitive_data_masker): fully mask secrets at or below the reveal threshold
_mask_value did partial reveal by showing the first visible_prefix and last
visible_suffix characters, but for a value whose length was at or below
visible_prefix + visible_suffix (8 by default) it returned the value verbatim.
A value of exactly 8 chars fell through the length guard and computed
masked_length == 0, reconstructing the original string with no mask characters;
anything shorter hit the early return. Either way short credentials were emitted
in plaintext.
mask_dict routes real secrets through this path, so an 8-char-or-shorter redis
password, api key, or token could be written to logs and the UI unmasked. The
sibling helper mask_sensitive_keys already guards this case; _mask_value now does
the same by fully masking any value at or below the threshold.
* fix(sensitive_data_masker): add mask_short_values opt-out for truncation callers
Fully masking short values is the right default for secret masking, but
CooldownCache reuses the masker purely to truncate exception messages to the
first 50 characters, and it relies on short messages being returned readable.
Masking those blanked out short exception text and broke its tests.
Add a mask_short_values flag (default True, secure) and have CooldownCache pass
False so it keeps the truncation behavior, while every secret-masking caller
still gets short values fully masked.
* fix(mcp_debug): opt out of short-value masking to keep diagnostic token preview
MCPDebug uses the masker to preview auth tokens in debug headers and documents
that values of 10 chars or fewer are shown unchanged so token types stay
distinguishable. Pass mask_short_values=False so that diagnostic behavior is
preserved while secret maskers keep masking short values.
* fix(mcp_debug): mask short auth values in debug headers instead of echoing them
Earlier this masker opted out of short-value masking to keep a token preview, but
that echoes short authorization and token values verbatim in debug response
headers, which is the same leak this change is meant to close. Auth material
should never be emitted in full, so mask short values here too; the first/last
character preview still applies to longer tokens. Only CooldownCache keeps the
opt-out, since it truncates exception text rather than masking secrets.
* test(mcp_debug): assert masked short value preserves length
* refactor(fireworks_ai): remove deprecated audio transcriptions endpoint (#30917)
Fireworks AI deprecated audio inference on 2026-06-10
(https://docs.fireworks.ai/updates/changelog#audio-inference-and-image-generation-deprecation).
Live API testing confirms the endpoint is already non-functional: a valid
Fireworks API key receives HTTP 401 "Unauthorized" from
api.fireworks.ai/inference/v1/audio/transcriptions for every request,
regardless of payload. The audio-prod.api.fireworks.ai host referenced in
the test suite returns 401 for every path; the entire host is decommissioned.
Remove the dead FireworksAIAudioTranscriptionConfig class and every
reference to it across the codebase:
- Delete litellm/llms/fireworks_ai/audio_transcription/ directory (17-line
config class that inherited from OpenAIWhisperAudioTranscriptionConfig)
- Remove the Fireworks branch from
ProviderConfigManager.get_provider_audio_transcription_config() in
litellm/utils.py; update the stale comment in
get_optional_params_transcription that referenced fireworks ai
- Remove the FireworksAIAudioTranscriptionConfig entries from
LLM_CONFIG_NAMES and _LLM_CONFIGS_IMPORT_MAP in
litellm/_lazy_imports_registry.py
- Remove the TYPE_CHECKING re-export in litellm/__init__.py
- Remove the transcription branch in the fireworks_ai case of
get_supported_openai_params() in
litellm/litellm_core_utils/get_supported_openai_params.py
- Remove the whisper-v3 and whisper-v3-turbo entries from
model_prices_and_context_window.json and
litellm/model_prices_and_context_window_backup.json (both had
mode: audio_transcription and zero-cost pricing)
- Remove the TestFireworksAIAudioTranscription test class and its
imports from tests/llm_translation/test_fireworks_ai_translation.py
No other provider is affected. The openai_compatible_providers list,
FireworksAIMixin, and the OpenAI Whisper transcription handler all stay
because they are shared with other Fireworks endpoints and other
providers. The provider_endpoints_support.json registry already had
audio_transcriptions set to false for fireworks_ai.

* fix: fail fast for non-Postgres database URLs (#30883)
* fix(proxy): fail fast on non-PostgreSQL DATABASE_URL instead of hanging on startup
LiteLLM's Prisma datasource is pinned to provider = 'postgresql', so a sqlite:// or mysql:// DATABASE_URL can never connect.
Today that surfaces as an opaque startup stall where the port never binds, and a separate 'DB not connected' 500 on /key/generate when no DATABASE_URL is set at all leaves operators guessing what to configure.
Validate the DATABASE_URL / DIRECT_URL scheme in run_server before any Prisma call and exit with an actionable message naming the unsupported scheme.

* fix(router): send fallback metadata when streaming (#30914)
When a streaming request triggers a fallback, there was previously no way to
know it happened. This commit addresses this in a few ways:
1. The response now correctly populates the fallback headers
(`x-litellm-attempted-fallbacks`) so callers know a fallback happened.
2. The correct model ID is passed in the streaming chunks.
3. A streaming chunk with the fallback error can be optionally sent back
to the client (opt-in) by passing `include_fallback_errors: true` in
the request.
The format of the fallback errors while streaming is intentionally OpenAI
compatible to not break existing libraries that parse these events. It was
tested with Vercel's AI SDK (ai-sdk.dev). It is also opt-in, so it is not
delieved unexpectedly to callers by default.
* fix(mistral): drop output-only reasoning fields from input messages (#30884)
LiteLLM attaches reasoning_content and thinking_blocks to assistant
responses. Replaying those assistant turns verbatim forwarded the fields
back to Mistral, whose input schema forbids unknown keys, so the whole
request failed with a 422 extra_forbidden and reasoning models became
unusable across multiple turns.
Strip both fields from assistant messages before the request is built, in
a spot that runs ahead of the image/file branch so it applies on every
path. Fixes #30835

* fix(perplexity): bill search queries at the per-request price, not 1/1000 of it (#30652)
* fix(perplexity): bill search queries at the per-request price, not 1/1000
The fallback cost calculator divided search_context_cost_per_query by
1000, but that field stores the per-request price in USD: sonar is
{low: 0.005, medium: 0.008, high: 0.012}, matching Perplexity's published
$5/$8/$12 per 1,000 requests expressed per request. The gemini cost
calculator reads the same field per request with no division (its
docstring calls it "the per-request cost").
The division understated search cost by 1000x on every Perplexity call
that falls back to manual calculation (i.e. when the API does not return
a pre-computed usage.cost). Use the value directly.
Update the tests that had encoded the /1000 factor in their expectations,
and drop an unused import flagged by ruff in the touched test file.
* test(perplexity): update integration test search-cost expectations to per-request
The integration tests still encoded the old /1000 search-cost factor, so
they failed once the fallback calculator was corrected to bill
search_context_cost_per_query per request. Update the four expected-cost
computations (and the high-volume dollar-value comments) to match.

Fireworks AI deprecated audio inference on 2026-06-10; the endpoint is
decommissioned. Without an explicit transcription branch, requests with
request_type='transcription' fell through to the else and returned
FireworksAIConfig chat-completion params. Return None instead to signal
the provider does not support transcription.

Strip include_fallback_errors from request data in common_processing_pre_call_logic

fix(passthrough, streaming): recover cost on interrupted and agentic Anthropic streams (#31035)
Streaming and pass-through requests could be logged with $0 cost or dropped from SpendLogs entirely while the upstream provider still billed every token. This closes the leak paths not already covered by #30160, #30787 and #30788. - Catch a stream_chunk_builder raise in the core CustomStreamWrapper (sync and async). Large agentic tool-use / thinking streams can make assembly re-raise as APIError from inside the except-StopIteration handler, where the sibling except does not catch it, so it escaped __next__/__anext__ and dropped the request; recover best-effort usage from the raw chunks instead - Add a usage-only fallback for Anthropic streaming pass-through: when stream_chunk_builder returns None or raises, rebuild usage from the message_start / message_delta SSE events via AnthropicConfig.calculate_usage so cache, web-search and geo tokens are priced instead of left at $0 - Decode buffered pass-through bytes with errors="replace" so a stream cut mid-multibyte-sequence still logs the usage events already received - Record response_cost into model_call_details on the pass-through success path (it is read from there, not from kwargs), matching the gemini/cohere/openai handlers - Name the key (alias + masked key) in the virtual-key BudgetExceededError so operators don't have to reverse-map spend back to a key |

feat(proxy): allow llm_api_routes virtual keys to list MCP tools via /v1/mcp/tools (#31031)

fix: prevent key-level metadata.tags from leaking into Bedrock passthrough body (#30985)
* fix: prevent key-level metadata.tags from leaking into Bedrock passthrough body * test: cover bedrock key-tag litellm_metadata pre-seed in common_checks Add a regression test asserting key-level tags on a bedrock passthrough request land in litellm_metadata and never leak into the provider-facing metadata field, which closes the codecov/patch gap on the auth_checks pre-seed line. Also drop the now-stale comment that hardcoded metadata["headers"]; the headers are written under whichever metadata field _get_metadata_variable_name selects. * refactor(auth): pre-seed litellm_metadata from LITELLM_METADATA_ROUTES The auth-time pre-seed in common_checks hardcoded "bedrock", so any other route later added to LITELLM_METADATA_ROUTES would reintroduce GH#30629 (key tags leaking into the provider-facing metadata field) without a matching update here. Key off the shared constant instead, and extend the regression test to cover a non-bedrock metadata route so the route-agnostic behavior is locked in. * fix(auth): pre-seed litellm_metadata before header-tag merge apply_client_tag_policy_pre_auth runs in user_api_key_auth.py before common_checks, so it resolved get_metadata_variable_name_from_kwargs to 'metadata' (litellm_metadata was not yet present). common_checks then pre-seeded litellm_metadata on LITELLM_METADATA_ROUTES, after which apply_key_tags_pre_auth and _tag_max_budget_check both targeted litellm_metadata, leaving header tags stranded in metadata and invisible to per-tag budget enforcement on Bedrock and other matching routes. Extract the pre-seed into LiteLLMProxyRequestSetup.pre_seed_litellm_metadata_for_route and invoke it before apply_client_tag_policy_pre_auth so all tag merges and the budget-check read agree on the same metadata key. * test(auth): guard early litellm_metadata pre-seed wiring for header tags Bugbot's autofix added a pre-seed of litellm_metadata in _run_centralized_common_checks before apply_client_tag_policy_pre_auth, so x-litellm-tags header tags land in litellm_metadata and stay visible to _tag_max_budget_check on LITELLM_METADATA_ROUTES. Its test replayed that call order in the test body, so removing the production call site still passed. Add a wiring-level regression that drives the real _run_centralized_common_checks and asserts header tags land in litellm_metadata (not metadata) for bedrock and /v1/messages. Dropping the pre-seed call site now fails the test. --------- Co-authored-by: Zang Peiyu <166481866+factnn@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Cursor Agent <cursoragent@cursor.com> |

fix: reject model_list in proxy body and gate advisor client credentials (#30585)
* fix: validate proxy request body and nested fields
Ensure caller-supplied request fields cannot override server-side deployment
configuration, and apply request-body validation consistently to nested
structures. Adjusts router kwarg handling and client-side credential handling
for base-url overrides
* test: cover router strip ordering and advisor clientside credential gate
* fix: clear deployment credentials on client base-url override
When a request overrides api_base/base_url, recompute the deployment's
litellm_params (clearing the deployment's own api_key) and drop the cached
client built for the original endpoint, so the deployment credential is not
reused for the client-supplied endpoint. Adds regression tests that assert the
credentials actually forwarded to litellm.completion/acompletion.
* fix(proxy): require api_key alongside api_base override
A request that overrides api_base/base_url but supplies no api_key still
left the proxy carrying a server credential: once the override clears the
banned-param opt-in, the provider re-resolves a key from the environment
(api_key or get_secret("OPENAI_API_KEY") and ~30 sibling chains in
main.py) and forwards it to the caller-controlled URL. Popping the
deployment api_key only changed which server key leaked.
Gate is_request_body_safe so a permitted api_base/base_url override must
also carry a non-empty caller api_key; reject otherwise. The env
resolution in main.py is left as the provider boundary.
* fix(proxy): extend request-body banlist with five additional credential and session targeting fields
Yuneng's review found five deployment-owned request-body params still missing
from the denylist and the router strip set. Each lets a caller reach the
operator's provider credentials or retarget the outbound request:
aws_profile_name selects a local AWS profile, oci_compartment_id and oci_region
retarget the OCI request, litellm_credential_name selects any server-loaded
credential by name with no ownership check, and runtimeSessionId resumes a
Bedrock AgentCore runtime session (AWS does not enforce session-to-user
mapping, so this is a cross-tenant session-resume vector).
Add all five to _BANNED_REQUEST_BODY_PARAMS in auth_utils.py and to
_DEPLOYMENT_OWNED_CREDENTIAL_KWARGS in router.py. Deployment litellm_params and
SDK direct calls are unaffected: the banlist gates the request body only, and
the router strip drops caller kwargs, never deployment["litellm_params"].
* test: rename arbitrary canary values in security tests to neutral placeholders
* fix(proxy): apply api_key co-presence to nested base override and warn on Router credential strip
P1-A: is_request_body_safe descended into _NESTED_CONFIG_KEYS
(litellm_embedding_config, extra_body) for the banned-param check but not for
the api_key co-presence check, so a base override smuggled into one of those
nested dicts cleared the client-side-credentials opt-in without a paired
api_key and let the provider re-resolve a server credential from the
environment. Run _check_base_override_has_api_key on each nested config dict
too, so the requirement applies wherever a base override is permitted.
P1-B: the deployment-owned credential strip in the Router runs unconditionally
on every _completion/_acompletion, which is security-correct but silently
drops per-call api_version/vertex_project/etc. for SDK Router callers. Emit a
single warning (key names only, never values) when the strip removes a
non-empty value, so the backwards-incompatible behavior is visible without
gating the strip on a context flag that does not exist.
* fix(proxy): apply api_key co-presence to tool-entry base override
is_request_body_safe scans three surfaces (root, _NESTED_CONFIG_KEYS, and
tools[]); the previous commit extended the api_key co-presence rule to root
and nested config dicts but not to tool entries. With
allow_client_side_credentials enabled, a tool entry carrying api_base/base_url
and no paired api_key cleared the gate, letting a provider interceptor fall
back to a server-side credential for a caller-controlled URL. Add the same
_check_base_override_has_api_key call to each tool dict and its nested function
dict, mirroring the symmetry already applied to the nested config keys. The
rule is unchanged: api_key must live in the same dict as the base override it
accompanies.
* test(proxy/auth): require paired api_key under extra_body opt-in
* fix(router): gate deployment-owned kwarg strip on litellm.proxy_is_running

feat(auth): resolve caller identity once into a Principal at the auth seam (#30887)
Introduce a single, typed caller identity that is resolved once at the auth boundary and read by reference downstream, instead of being re-derived from a 50-field key object or rebuilt from request metadata. What this adds (litellm/proxy/auth/resolvers/), organized by responsibility: - Principal: a small, frozen, identity-only value type (user / organization / teams / project / end-user / roles / scopes / network), with its sub-models and the role mapping. No budget or policy state; those stay on the key object. - DbIdentityStore: the auth flow's resolver, owning both halves of resolving a caller. resolve_key does the one combined_view lookup (cache, then DB via the shared lower-level helpers, then write-back) and returns the key object, which still flows for budget / rate-limit / policy unchanged. principal_from_key projects the identity slice of that key object into a Principal, issuing no lookup. user_api_key_auth resolves every key through the store rather than calling get_key_object directly; auth_checks.get_key_object stays as the legacy entrypoint for its other callers until they migrate. - network: the X-Forwarded-For / trusted-proxy CIDR primitives live here in one place. trusted_proxy_utils now imports them rather than keeping a second copy. At the seam, user_api_key_auth projects one per-request Principal off the resolved key object and stamps the request network context onto it once (X-Forwarded-For is trusted only when trusted_proxy_ranges is configured). It is attached to request.state.principal for the downstream consumers later phases add. The projection is additive and defensive: a failure never rejects an already-authenticated request, and a missing principal must be treated as deny by any future reader. The Principal is always identifiable (credential_ref and a stable subject off the token), never anonymous. This is additive and changes no behavior today; it is the identity foundation the spend-attribution and authorization phases build on. |

chore: remove in-product survey and Claude Code feedback nudges (#30773)
Delete the in-product survey and Claude Code feedback prompts end to end. Frontend: remove the src/components/survey/ module, the index page's nudge state/effects/handlers, the getInProductNudgesCall helper, and the orphaned "Disable UI nudges" toggle in the admin UI Settings page; prune the stale eslint-suppressions entries. Backend: remove the now-dead /in_product_nudges route, the InProductNudgeResponse type, and the disable_ui_nudges UI setting (Field + allowlist). Nothing read it for logic and the UISettings model is extra="allow", so existing stored configs are unaffected (the value is just no longer surfaced). schema.d.ts is regenerated and the two tests covering the removed route/setting are dropped. |

fix(proxy): enforce budgets against authoritative DB spend when the cross-pod counter is unreliable (#30684)
Some checks failed
Agent Shin — rollout heads-up (one-shot) / heads-up (push) Has been cancelled
Budget enforcement reads spend from the cross-pod Redis counter via get_current_spend, which trusted the counter whenever Redis returned a value. A Redis instance that restarts and reloads an older RDB snapshot (the customer's logs repeat "Redis is loading the dataset in memory") comes back with a stale-low counter; that read is a hit, not a clean miss, so the existing DB reseed never ran and a key kept getting admitted even though its recorded spend was already over max_budget. The symptom was recorded spend sitting above the limit while requests kept succeeding. Read-time enforcement: get_current_spend takes an optional max_budget and, when the counter would admit the request but reads below this caller's last-known recorded spend, re-reads the authoritative spend and enforces against the higher value. The authoritative source depends on the counter: key/team/user/org/team-member read the DB row, per-window budgets aggregate spend logs, and end-user/tag have no DB row so the caller's freshly-loaded recorded spend is used. Healthy primary counters and freshly reset keys stay off the DB path, and the value is cached in-process for a few seconds, so a persistently stale counter drives at most one read per counter per window. When the DB value is higher, the counter is repaired with a monotonic, atomic set-max (RedisCache.async_set_max) so every worker reads the corrected total and a concurrent increment is never clobbered. Reconcile no longer fails open: when the post-call reservation reconcile found the counter missing or an adjustment that would drive it negative, it deleted the counter and continued (the deletion is what left counters nil/unenforced after a Redis reload). It now reseeds from the DB's lagging authoritative floor instead of deleting; the monotonic set-max can only raise a stale-low counter, and the read-time floor converges to the true total as the spend buffer flushes. The pre-call admission resize path keeps its original fail-closed behavior. Opt-in strict enforcement: general_settings.fail_closed_budget_enforcement (default False) makes the authoritative re-check run for every budgeted entity (closing the gap where a stale-low counter and a stale-low cached fallback would otherwise both pass the cheap guard), and rejects a request with 503 when the spend backing an admit decision can be verified against neither Redis nor the database. Default behavior is unchanged; the re-check stays bounded by the in-process cache. Resolves LIT-3772 |

chore: litellm oss 170626 (#30637)
* fix(proxy): allow non-admin virtual keys to call GA Realtime WebRTC HTTP routes (#30089) * fix(proxy): allow non-admin virtual keys to call GA Realtime WebRTC HTTP routes Add the realtime WebRTC HTTP sub-routes (/realtime/client_secrets, /realtime/calls and their /v1 + /openai/v1 variants) to LiteLLMRoutes.openai_routes so is_llm_api_route() classifies them as LLM API routes. Without this, non-admin virtual keys received 401 'Only proxy admin can be used to generate, delete, update info for new keys/users/teams' when calling these endpoints. Fixes #29923 * fix(proxy): validate session.model for realtime routes in model-access check The GA Realtime WebRTC HTTP routes resolve the effective model from the nested session.model (falling back to the top-level model), but the auth layer's get_model_from_request() only extracted the top-level model. A model-restricted virtual key could therefore place a disallowed model in session.model, leave the top-level model unset, and skip can_key_call_model() entirely - obtaining an ephemeral token for a model it is not allowed to use. Extract session.model for the realtime client_secrets/calls routes so the model-access check runs against the model the request will actually use. Legitimate callers are unaffected; their permitted model still validates. Relates to https://github.com/BerriAI/litellm/issues/29923 * fix(proxy): classify realtime transcription_sessions routes as LLM API routes Add the GA Realtime WebRTC transcription_sessions HTTP routes to openai_routes so is_llm_api_route() returns True for them, matching the client_secrets and calls routes already fixed. These endpoints are registered with user_api_key_auth in realtime_endpoints/endpoints.py, so without this a non-admin virtual key calling POST /v1/realtime/transcription_sessions would hit the admin-only 401 branch. Extends the regression test parametrization accordingly. --------- Co-authored-by: habonlaci <4699494+habonlaci@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(proxy): surface max_input_tokens/max_output_tokens on /v1/models (#30272) * feat(proxy): surface max_input_tokens/max_output_tokens on /v1/models * fix(proxy): degrade /v1/models gracefully when model-group lookup fails --------- Co-authored-by: Sameer Kankute <sameer@berri.ai> * fix: sort tiered token-cost thresholds numerically (#30375) * fix: sort tiered token-cost thresholds numerically _get_token_base_cost iterated input_cost_per_token_above_<N>_tokens keys with a lexicographic sort, so for tiers whose thresholds have different digit lengths (e.g. 90k vs 128k) a request crossing both was billed at the lower tier that sorted first. During a backend traffic spike the pool drains; once exhausted every subsequent request to that host waits for a slot, times out and surfaces as a 408, indefinitely, even after the backend recovers. Only a proxy restart cleared the in-memory sessions, which matched the reported symptom of a router stuck returning 408 for a healthy vLLM backend. Close the response in a finally clause when iteration ends. On a fully read response the connection was already released at EOF and close() is a no-op, so keep-alive reuse for normal requests is unchanged. As a result, `str(ProxyException(...))` returns the empty string, and every auth/budget/quota rejection was landing in spend_logs with `error_message=""` despite a fully populated traceback. Operator impact: dashboard "LLM Failure" rows became untriageable — the only way to tell a 401 from a 429 was to manually unpack the traceback JSON via psql. Burst failure patterns (e.g. a UI session polling with a stale token) produced 20-30 indistinguishable `error_code=401` rows per second. Fix: prefer the `.message` attribute (set by ProxyException and every litellm.exceptions.* class) over `str(exc)`. The `str(exc)` fallback is retained for non-litellm exception types, preserving prior behavior. Test plan: - 2 new unit tests in tests/test_litellm/litellm_core_utils/ test_litellm_logging.py: * test_get_error_information_prefers_message_attribute_over_str * test_get_error_information_falls_back_to_str_when_no_message_attr - Existing test_get_error_information_error_code_priority still passes - End-to-end verified: bad-key 401 now stores full "Authentication Error, Invalid proxy server token passed..." message in spend_logs.metadata.error_information.error_message * fix(spend-logs): preserve explicit empty .message + drop dead reference Greptile P2 on #30381. The truthiness check `if message_attr:` silently skipped an explicit empty-string `.message` and fell through to `str(original_exception)`. For ProxyException-shaped objects both produce empty, so the bug was latent; for other exception types it would inject a different string into error_information.error_message and corrupt the signal. Use `is not None` so an empty string survives verbatim. Also drop the stale `See e2e/cases/11.` comment reference — that path does not exist anywhere in the repo and confuses future readers. Regression test added: an exception with `.message=""` and a non-empty `super().__init__()` arg must yield error_message == "". * ci: retrigger workflows after base branch change to litellm_internal_staging * fix(anthropic): strip LiteLLM-injected total_tokens from /v1/messages response (#30382) * fix(anthropic): strip LiteLLM-injected total_tokens from /v1/messages response The non-streaming /v1/messages response carries a LiteLLM-injected usage.total_tokens = input_tokens + output_tokens that is not part of the Anthropic API spec. This caused three problems: 1. Shape divergence with streaming on the same endpoint. message_delta.usage in the SSE path never carries total_tokens. Clients parsing both paths get two different schemas from one endpoint. 2. Shape divergence with upstream. Direct calls to https://api.anthropic.com/v1/messages return no total_tokens field, so clients using the official Anthropic SDK couldn't rely on it, and clients that did rely on the LiteLLM-injected one broke when bypassing the proxy. 3. Numerical misuse. total = input + output undercounts when cache_read_input_tokens and cache_creation_input_tokens are non-zero, because cache tokens are reported in their own fields. A 100k-token cached prompt with 1 non-cache input token + 200 output tokens reports total_tokens = 201, off by ~99.8% from any reasonable definition of "total." Fix: add _strip_total_tokens_from_anthropic_response in litellm/proxy/anthropic_endpoints/endpoints.py and invoke it in the success path of anthropic_response right before returning. Only mutates dict-shaped responses; streaming (which already lacks the field) is left untouched. spend_logs / Prometheus continue to compute total_tokens internally for billing — this fix only strips the field from the wire response. Scope: only the Anthropic passthrough endpoint /v1/messages. The OpenAI-shape /v1/chat/completions is unaffected. * fix(anthropic): gate total_tokens strip behind flag + handle Pydantic .usage Two P1 greptile threads on #30382: P1 — **Backwards-incompatible removal without a feature flag** Stripping `usage.total_tokens` unconditionally breaks any client currently reading the LiteLLM-shaped non-streaming /v1/messages response. Per the codebase's policy (mirrors #30418), gate behind a new flag. - `litellm.strip_anthropic_total_tokens: bool = False` (default — backward-compat: clients keep seeing total_tokens). - Env override: `LITELLM_STRIP_ANTHROPIC_TOTAL_TOKENS=true`. - Docstring: planned to flip to True in a future major release; opt in early. P1 — **Silent no-op if `result` is a Pydantic model** `base_process_llm_request` may return a Pydantic-style object whose `.usage` is a plain dict (the most common shape — e.g. objects wrapping raw upstream JSON). The original `isinstance(response, dict)` guard skipped strip on those, so `total_tokens` would still hit the wire. Helper now also reads `getattr(response, "usage", None)` and strips when that's a dict. Strongly-typed Pydantic `Usage` sub-models with required `total_tokens` fields are still skipped — those impose type constraints the helper doesn't try to subvert. Tests: - `test_strips_total_tokens_on_pydantic_model_with_dict_usage` - `test_flag_defaults_off` 8/8 pass locally. * fix(anthropic): drop env var for strip flag (docs CI) Mirrors #30418's pattern (`expose_router_debug_in_errors: bool = True`, no `os.getenv`). The `LITELLM_STRIP_ANTHROPIC_TOTAL_TOKENS` env var introduced in the prior commit was flagged by `tests/documentation_tests/test_env_keys.py` because the documentation file `docs/my-website/docs/proxy/config_settings.md` lives in `BerriAI/litellm-docs` (separate repo) and registering a new env key requires a parallel docs PR — a friction we avoid here by exposing the flag only as a Python attribute + `litellm_settings` config key, both of which load through the existing proxy config plumbing without needing the env-var registry to be updated. No semantic change: default still False, behavior identical when set via `litellm.strip_anthropic_total_tokens = True` or `litellm_settings.strip_anthropic_total_tokens: true` in config.yaml. Verified locally: env scan no longer surfaces the key; 8/8 tests pass. * ci: retrigger workflows after base branch change to litellm_internal_staging * fix(pricing): correct swapped input/output token costs for command-r7b-12-2024 (#30413) * fix(pricing): correct swapped input/output token costs for command-r7b-12-2024 * test: resolve model prices JSON relative to test file for pip installs * fix(exception-mapping): map Gemini upstream-error body code 429 to RateLimitError (#30417) * fix(exception-mapping): map Gemini upstream-error body code 429 to RateLimitError Some Gemini-compatible gateways (e.g. new-api) wrap a 429 rate-limit signal from upstream inside an HTTP 500/503 envelope, with the real code only surfaced in the JSON body: {"error":{"message":"...high demand...","type":"upstream_error", "param":"","code":429}} Previously LiteLLM only looked at the HTTP status and mapped this to InternalServerError, which Router treats as non-retryable for many configs — so users got hard 500s instead of fallback/retry. Now the Gemini/Vertex exception mapper parses error.code from the body and routes code 429 to RateLimitError before falling through to the HTTP-status branches. Other body codes fall through unchanged. Tests cover: - new-api gateway's `code:429` payload now maps to RateLimitError - Genuine 500-body responses stay InternalServerError - Non-JSON body strings fall through to status-code mapping unchanged * fix(exception-mapping): scope body-code 429 promotion to 5xx envelopes Addresses greptile P1/P2 + @Sameerlite's review on #30417. The new elif branch was firing for any HTTP status, so a gateway response of HTTP 400 with body {"error":{"code":429,...}} would be incorrectly promoted to RateLimitError (retryable) instead of falling through to BadRequestError. Same trap for 401 -> AuthenticationError. Scoped the body-code 429 check to `500 <= status_code < 600` — covers 500/502/503/504 (gateways wrapping upstream 429 in any 5xx envelope) without inviting the 4xx misclassification. Tests: parametrized table now covers 5xx (500/502/503), 4xx (400/401), and the existing fall-through cases, asserting each maps to the exception type that matches the HTTP status code. 50/50 pass locally. * ci: retrigger workflows after base branch change to litellm_internal_staging * feat(router): add expose_router_debug_in_errors flag (default True) to redact internal model_group/fallback names (#30418) * feat(router)!: redact internal model_group/fallback names from exception messages The Router was unconditionally appending internal config names onto exception.message: - "Received Model Group=..." - "Available Model Group Fallbacks=..." - "No fallback model group found... Fallbacks={...}" - "context_window_fallbacks={...}" - Deployment-timeout messages including model_group - Fallback failure detail listing fallback chain ProxyException forwards .message verbatim to clients, so gateways were leaking their model_name / fallback wiring in every failed call. Fix: gate all five mutation sites on a new `litellm.expose_router_debug_in_errors` flag (default False). Set to True to restore upstream debug behavior for local debugging. Why: matches the redaction posture this codebase already has for upstream model identifiers (cf. _litellm_returned_model_name) and removes the last common error-path leak of internal model_group names. Breaking change marker (!): if anything parses "Received Model Group=" out of client error messages, flip the flag on or migrate to the x-litellm-* response headers instead. Tests: 7 cases covering each of the 5 redaction sites + the flag-on inverse path, plus a "default off" sanity check. * test(router): cover sites 1 + 3 of expose_router_debug_in_errors gate Addresses Greptile / codecov feedback on #30418: patch coverage was 55.6% with 4 lines uncovered in litellm/router.py. The existing tests exercised sites 2 (ContextWindowExceededError), 4 (no-fallback-found), and 5 (Received Model Group) — both default and flag-on. Sites 1 and 3 were declared in the PR description as covered by "site 5 also fires" but the gate body lines for each (the `e.message +=` inside the `if litellm.expose_router_debug_in_errors:` branch) only execute when the flag is on AND the specific exception path is taken, which neither existing test triggered. Added 4 new tests (default + flag-on × 2 sites): - test_default_does_not_leak_deployment_timeout_debug - test_flag_on_leaks_deployment_timeout_debug - test_default_does_not_leak_content_policy_fallback_hint - test_flag_on_leaks_content_policy_fallback_hint Trigger details: - Site 1 (litellm.Timeout in _acompletion) is reached via the Router-supported `mock_timeout=True` + `timeout=0.001` kwargs on `acompletion(...)`. Cannot embed a Timeout instance in model_list because Router.__init__ deep-copies it and Timeout.__reduce__ does not preserve the required positional args. - Site 3 (ContentPolicyViolationError without content_policy_fallbacks set, in async_function_with_fallbacks_common_utils) is reached by passing a `mock_response=litellm.ContentPolicyViolationError(...)` instance via the call-site kwarg — same deepcopy-avoidance reason. 11/11 tests pass locally. Patch coverage on litellm/router.py for this PR's diff should now be 100%. * chore(router): flip expose_router_debug_in_errors default to True Addresses @Sameerlite's review on #30418 — maintain backward compat on the wire. Redact becomes opt-in via setting the flag to False; the historical behavior (leak internal model_group / fallback wiring through exception messages) is preserved as the default. - litellm/__init__.py: default flipped to True, docstring rewritten with deprecation note pointing at a future flip to False (redact by default) in a major release. - tests/test_litellm/test_router_exception_redaction.py: fixture resets to True (was False); the "off" tests now explicitly set False; the "default_leaks_*" tests rely on the fixture default. test_flag_defaults_off -> test_flag_defaults_on. - No router.py change needed; the gate keys off the same flag, only the default changes. - PR title no longer needs the breaking-change `!` marker — no client sees a behavior change at default settings. 11/11 pass locally. * ci: retrigger workflows after base branch change to litellm_internal_staging * feat(guardrails): integrate Repelloai Argus guardrail (#30465) * feat(guardrails): add RepelloAI Argus guardrail integration (#1) * feat(guardrails): add RepelloAI Argus guardrail integration Add a new guardrail hook backed by RepelloAI Argus, with dashboard-managed asset policies enforced via an asset_id and X-API-Key auth. * fix(guardrails): harden RepelloAI Argus guardrail - scan streaming responses on output (was bypassing the guardrail) - log blocked verdicts as guardrail_intervened instead of success - treat auth/config errors (401/403/404/422) as misconfiguration that always blocks, not a fail-open-able unreachable error - default unreachable_fallback to fail_closed and read it directly; block on unknown/malformed verdicts so an API change can't silently disable enforcement - type unreachable_fallback as a Literal, drop the duplicate config model, expose unreachable_fallback in the config schema, and stop leaking the raw provider response / exception strings to the client * fix(guardrails): address RepelloAI Argus review feedback - support ARGUS_API_KEY (with REPELLOAI_API_KEY fallback) - make asset_id required in the config model - normalize unreachable_fallback so only fail_open opens; block on 400 misconfig - correct the shared unreachable_fallback field description * docs(guardrails): add RepelloAI Argus docs page and dashboard listing - add docs page covering config, env vars, modes, verdicts, failure semantics - list RepelloAI Argus in the Guardrail Garden with provider/logo mappings - add a regression test for the provider logo and display-name resolution * fix(guardrails): keep RepelloAI asset_id optional in config model A required asset_id leaked onto the shared LitellmParams (which inherits RepelloAIGuardrailConfigModel), breaking validation for every other guardrail. Keep it optional like sibling models; the guardrail __init__ still raises when asset_id is missing, which is the real enforcement. * Add comment for last user turn scanning * feat(guardrails): harden repelloai scanning * feat(guardrails): expand repelloai scanning to include tool definitions Add extraction of tool definitions and tool call arguments to the RepelloAI guardrail scanning. Improves detection coverage by including function schemas and parameters in the prompt sent to the guardrail service. Also captures detailed error responses in logs and adds guardrail header to streaming responses. * refactor(guardrails): fix and harden repelloai schema text extraction - Fix duplicate text in _iter_schema_text: previously all dict values were re-queued onto the stack even after scalar/list keys were already extracted explicitly, causing names/descriptions to appear twice in the scanned prompt - Extract schema key frozensets to module-level constants so they are not reconstructed on every call - Change _iter_schema_text from @classmethod to @staticmethod (cls unused) - Narrow _call_analyze stage param from str to Literal["prompt", "response"] - Add HttpxResponse type annotation to _raise_for_config_error - Add LLMResponseTypes annotation to async_post_call_success_hook response param * fix(guardrails): resolve pyright type errors in repelloai guardrail - Narrow async_handler.post return from Response|None to Response with explicit None guard before calling raise_for_status/json - Fix list comprehension returning str|None by switching to explicit loop with isinstance guard so pyright tracks the narrowing - Cast model_dump() result to Dict since hasattr does not narrow object type in pyright * fix(guardrails/repello): include Responses API instructions field in prompt scan The /v1/responses top-level `instructions` field was not included in _extract_prompt_text, allowing a caller to bypass guardrail policy checks by putting blocked content in `instructions` while keeping `input` benign. * feat: add api_key to config model and read prompt from data dict * fix(guardrails/repello): plug input_text and tool-call response bypass gaps Responses API input content parts with type 'input_text' were silently dropped by build_inspection_messages (which only handles type='text'), allowing callers to send blocked content via that path without triggering the pre-call scan. Fix: add _extract_input_text_parts to RepelloAIGuardrail and call it when walking the Responses API input messages. Post-call scanning skipped responses whose choices contained only tool_calls or function_call (message.content=None), letting models put blocked output in function arguments undetected. Fix: _extract_chat_completion_text now calls _extract_tool_call_args_from_message on each choice message. Also replace typing.Dict/List with builtin dict/list to clear TID251 strict ruff violations introduced by this file. * fix(guardrails/repello): scan Responses API function_call output arguments Output items with type 'function_call' in a /v1/responses response were skipped by _extract_responses_api_text; only 'message' items were walked. A model could return blocked content in function_call.arguments undetected. Now extract arguments from function_call output items before scanning. * fix(anthropic): drop orphaned server_tool_use on multi-turn replay from generic OpenAI clients (#30486) * fix(anthropic): drop orphaned server_tool_use on multi-turn replay from generic OpenAI clients When an Anthropic server-side tool (web_search, id `srvtoolu_...`) is used, its result is carried in `provider_specific_fields.web_search_results` — PRs #17746 / #17798 restore it for callers that round-trip provider_specific_fields. A generic OpenAI client that does NOT preserve provider_specific_fields (e.g. Open WebUI talking to a Vertex/Anthropic model over /chat/completions) drops it on replay and instead sends back an assistant `tool_call` + a `tool` message both keyed to the `srvtoolu_` id. The transform then produced a bare `server_tool_use` (with no following *_tool_result) plus a user `tool_result` for the same id — both invalid, so the next turn 400s: messages.N.content.0: unexpected `tool_use_id` found in `tool_result` blocks: srvtoolu_... Each `tool_result` block must have a corresponding `tool_use` block in the previous message. This is the commonly-reported vertex_ai symptom where Gemini works but Claude 400s on the 2nd turn of a web-search chat. Fix (litellm/litellm_core_utils/prompt_templates/factory.py): - convert_to_anthropic_tool_invoke: only emit a server_tool_use when its matching *_tool_result is available to pair with it; otherwise skip it (a bare server_tool_use is itself rejected). - anthropic_messages_pt: drop a replayed `tool`/`function` message whose tool_call_id starts with `srvtoolu_` (a server-executed tool produces no client result; a user tool_result for it is invalid). The existing reconstruction path (provider_specific_fields present, e.g. the litellm SDK) is unchanged, as is regular client tool_use/tool_result. Tests (tests/llm_translation/test_prompt_factory.py): - update test_convert_to_anthropic_tool_invoke_server_tool -> test_convert_to_anthropic_tool_invoke_server_tool_without_result_is_dropped - add test_anthropic_messages_pt_generic_client_drops_orphan_server_tool Follow-up to #17746 / #17798; addresses the generic-client (no provider_specific_fields) case of #17737. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(anthropic): cover the srvtoolu_ round-trip fix in the test_litellm unit suite The regression tests added in tests/llm_translation/test_prompt_factory.py aren't run by the coverage CI job (it runs tests/test_litellm), so the new factory.py branches showed as uncovered (codecov patch coverage). Add equivalent focused tests in the unit suite so both new branches are exercised there: - convert_to_anthropic_tool_invoke drops a srvtoolu_ server_tool_use when no matching *_tool_result is available. - anthropic_messages_pt drops the orphaned srvtoolu_ tool message a generic OpenAI client replays. Per the OpenAI/Perplexity usage convention codified for the central path in PR #18607, completion_tokens already INCLUDES reasoning_tokens, so the manual fallback double-bills reasoning at both the output and reasoning rate. Concrete impact on perplexity/sonar-deep-research (input 2e-6, output 8e-6, reasoning 3e-6): for the exact usage shape exercised by the live response fixture in tests/llm_translation/test_perplexity_reasoning.py (prompt_tokens=9, completion_tokens=20, reasoning_tokens=15) the current code charges 0.000223 vs the convention-correct 0.000103, a 2.165x overcharge. The bug is reachable whenever Perplexity omits the cost object (streaming chunks, fixture-driven paths, older API versions). Subtracts reasoning_tokens (clamped at zero) from completion_tokens before applying the output rate, mirroring how dashscope/cost_calculator.py and the central generic_cost_per_token already handle it. Preserves the existing fallback behaviour when output_cost_per_reasoning_token is unset (all completion_tokens stay at the output rate). Existing tests in tests/test_litellm/llms/perplexity/test_perplexity_cost_calculator.py asserted the buggy math and are updated to the convention-correct math. Adds a focused regression test using the exact usage shape from the live response fixture so this class of bug cannot be silently reintroduced. * style(perplexity): drop redundant type annotation on else branch to satisfy mypy mypy [no-redef] flagged 'completion_cost' as declared in both if and else arms; keeping the annotation only on the first declaration matches existing patterns in this file. * fix(perplexity): update integration test expected costs for non-double-billed math Three tests in test_perplexity_integration.py asserted the old buggy expectation that reasoning_tokens are billed in addition to the full completion_tokens count. After the fix in cost_per_token, reasoning_tokens are billed at the reasoning rate and the remaining (completion_tokens - reasoning_tokens) at the standard output rate, matching OpenAI/Perplexity convention (PR #18607). New direct models: glm-5p2, qwen3p7-plus, minimax-m3, minimax-m2p7, kimi-k2p7-code, kimi-k2p6, deepseek-v4-pro, deepseek-v4-flash. New router endpoints: glm-5p1-fast, kimi-k2p6-fast, kimi-k2p7-code-fast. Updated: glm-5p1, gpt-oss-120b, and gpt-oss-20b now carry correct output token caps, cache-read pricing, and explicit capability flags max_tokens is set equal to max_output_tokens (not the full context window) for models whose generation cap is below their context window. This avoids the shared input+output budget path in get_modified_max_tokens, which would otherwise let callers request output sizes the model cannot produce. The same fix corrects the pre-existing glm-5p1, gpt-oss-120b, and gpt-oss-20b entries that had max_tokens equal to the full context window Short-form aliases (fireworks_ai/<model>) are added for every direct accounts/fireworks/models/ entry so cost attribution works for callers using bare model names. Router endpoints get short-form aliases too, and transform_request now routes bare names ending in -fast to the accounts/fireworks/routers/ path instead of defaulting every bare name to models/. This keeps the kimi-k2p6-fast router from being misrouted to the nonexistent models/kimi-k2p6-fast endpoint kimi-k2p6-turbo is intentionally excluded; kimi-k2p6-fast is its replacement. Context windows for deepseek-v4 and kimi models use the power-of-two values (1048576 and 262144) published on the Fireworks model pages, matching the convention already used by existing entries Two regression tests in test_utils.py assert the exact per-token costs, token limits, capability flags, and short-form-to-long-form equality for all 15 models against both the main and backup cost maps. Pin the mid-system passthrough regression test to the local cost map via the existing local_model_cost_map fixture so it reads the branch-local flag rather than the network-fetched main copy. * fix(bedrock): normalize in-array system in /v1/messages handler (#29698) Wire normalize_system_messages_for_anthropic into anthropic_messages_handler so all Bedrock /v1/messages paths (Invoke / Mantle / ClaudePlatform / Converse-bridge) hoist leading in-array system entries (and demote mid-conversation ones on models lacking supports_mid_conversation_system) into the top-level system field. The normalized messages/system are written back into the local_vars snapshot the base_llm branch reads from, otherwise the Invoke/Mantle fix would silently no-op. Also fix the helper to resolve supports_mid_conversation_system through the prefix-aware AnthropicModelInfo._supports_model_capability resolver. The raw _supports_factory could not see the flag once get_llm_provider left the invoke/ prefix on the model id, which would have wrongly demoted mid-conversation system on a Bedrock invoke opus-4-8 path. * fix(bedrock): resolve mid-conversation-system flag through mantle/invoke/converse route prefixes; drop unused param * fix(types): widen system param to Union[str, List] for hoisted system blocks * refactor(bedrock): drop dead local_vars messages writeback * fix(bedrock/converse): translate in-array system in anthropic->openai adapter (#29698) * fix(bedrock/converse): preserve cache_control on in-array system; test drop-empty * fix(bedrock/converse): rename colliding local to satisfy mypy; test handler system-merge branches * fix(types): register supports_mid_conversation_system in model-info schema The cost-map JSON-schema validation test (test_aaamodel_prices_and_context_window_json_is_valid) rejects unknown properties, so adding supports_mid_conversation_system to the opus-4-8 cost-map entries failed CI with 'Additional properties are not allowed'. Register the flag in the INTENDED_SCHEMA allow-list and in the ProviderSpecificModelInfo TypedDict so it is a typed, first-class capability flag alongside its peers (supports_output_config, etc.). --------- Co-authored-by: Sameer Kankute <sameer@berri.ai> * fix(bedrock/agentcore): optionally forward multimodal content blocks in InvokeAgentRuntime payload (#28885) * fix(bedrock/agentcore): optionally forward multimodal content blocks in InvokeAgentRuntime payload By default the agentcore provider flattens the last message to a text-only {"prompt": "..."} payload via convert_content_list_to_str, silently dropping OpenAI multimodal blocks (image_url, file, input_audio, ...). This adds an opt-in `forward_multimodal_content` litellm param. When truthy and the last message's content is a list containing a non-text block, the original OpenAI content list is forwarded verbatim under a new "content" field so an attachment-aware AgentCore agent can read it. Default off keeps the payload byte-identical to the legacy {"prompt": "..."} shape — existing agents are unaffected. The flag is read from optional_params (where other AgentCore params land) with a litellm_params fallback, and accepts a bool or a config/env string ('true', '1', ...). AgentCore Runtime is schemaless on the agent side — the agent's @app.entrypoint parses arbitrary JSON up to 100 MB (per https://docs.aws.amazon.com/bedrock-agentcore/latest/devguide/runtime-invoke-agent.html), so this is a purely upstream change; no AgentCore-side schema is asserted. * fix(bedrock/agentcore): shallow-copy forwarded multimodal content list Address review feedback (Sameerlite): payload["content"] = last_content aliased the caller's mutable messages[-1]["content"] list. Harmless today because the payload is JSON-serialized immediately, but a latent footgun if a future caller mutates the returned payload before serialization. Forward list(last_content) so the payload owns its own list. Block dicts stay shared on purpose — a deep copy would clone potentially large base64 media on the request hot path, and the flagged risk was the shared list, not the blocks. Update the passthrough tests to assert equality + distinct identity, and add a regression test that mutating the payload list can't leak back into the original message content. * Revert "fix(mcp): preserve native tools in semantic filter hook (#26650)" This reverts commit |

feat(proxy): warn at startup when custom_auth skips common_checks enforcement (#30665)
When general_settings.custom_auth is configured but custom_auth_run_common_checks is not set, project/team/org enforcement (budgets, model-level rate limits, and model-access lists) silently does nothing for custom-auth requests, since the centralized common_checks gate returns early for custom auth. Emit a startup warning pointing operators at the flag so the misconfiguration is visible instead of failing silently. |

chore: litellm oss staging160626 (#30527)
* feat(ui): gate "Default Credentials" hint on /ui/login behind env flag (#30234) Adds LITELLM_HIDE_DEFAULT_CREDENTIALS_HINT (and an equivalent general_settings.hide_default_credentials_hint) that suppresses the "By default, Username is admin and Password is your set LiteLLM Proxy MASTER_KEY" info card rendered on /ui/login and /fallback/login. Motivation: in production deployments operators set UI_USERNAME / UI_PASSWORD (or SSO), and the hardcoded hint becomes factually incorrect and is flagged by security scanners (Tenable WAS plugin 114625) as information disclosure. There is currently no way to suppress it without forking the dashboard. Behaviour: - Default is unchanged (hint shown), so existing deployments are unaffected. - New field hide_default_credentials_hint on the well-known UI config endpoint, populated from the env var or general_settings. - LoginPage.tsx conditionally renders the Alert based on the flag. Refs: BerriAI/litellm#30232 * fix(router): clean pattern_router state on upsert/delete (#29601) * fix(router): clean pattern_router state on upsert/delete PatternMatchRouter.add_pattern was append-only, and neither Router.upsert_deployment nor Router.delete_deployment removed the existing entry. Rotated-out api_keys stayed in the routing rotation for wildcard deployments (model_name with `*`) until proxy restart, silently defeating key rotation as an admin operation. The same leak applied to provider_default_deployment_ids and per-team pattern routers, and the patterns list grew unboundedly on every edit * test(router): direct unit tests for _remove_deployment_from_wildcard_state router_code_coverage.py greps test files for AST Call nodes and flagged the helper as untested because the existing coverage only exercised it transitively through upsert/delete. Adds two direct tests that pin the helper's contract (cleans across global pattern router, per-team routers with empty-router pop, and provider_default_deployment_ids; noop on falsy model_id) * fix(router): address Greptile review on pattern_router cleanup Widen PatternMatchRouter.remove_deployment annotation to Optional[str]; the implementation already handles None via the falsy guard and the unit test exercises it directly. Move _remove_deployment_from_wildcard_state up one level in upsert_deployment so it runs whenever the prior deployment is on the router, not only when the model_id is present in the fast-mapping index. The scenario is currently unreachable (get_deployment shares the same index), but the cleanup is idempotent so this is defensive against any future divergence between those code paths. * fix(router): widen _remove_deployment_from_wildcard_state to Optional[str] Moving the call out of the inner `deployment_id in deployment_fast_mapping` block in the previous commit lost mypy's narrowing of `deployment_id` from Optional[str] to str, tripping the lint CI. The helper already handles None via its falsy guard, so widening the annotation matches the actual contract. * fix(router): make delete_deployment wildcard cleanup symmetric with upsert After the previous commit moved _remove_deployment_from_wildcard_state out of the inner index-map guard in upsert_deployment, delete_deployment was still calling it only inside `if deployment_idx is not None`. Greptile flagged the asymmetry: under a desynced index_map, delete would silently leave the stale wildcard credential in pattern_router. Moves the cleanup call to the top of the try block, mirroring the upsert path. Cleanup is idempotent so the change is a no-op on the happy path. Adds a regression test that simulates the desync by removing the entry from model_id_to_deployment_index_map and asserts delete still clears pattern_router. * fix(pricing): add 1h cache-write cost for Anthropic Sonnet 4.5/4.6 (#30474) The native anthropic claude-sonnet-4-5/4-6 price-map entries were missing cache_creation_input_token_cost_above_1hr (and the >200K long-context sub-tier for 4.5), so 1-hour-TTL cache writes were costed at the 5-minute rate. Adds 6e-06 regular (and 1.2e-05 long-context) = 2x base input, matching the vertex_ai/azure_ai/bedrock siblings and the older claude-sonnet-4-20250514 entry. Adds a regression test. * fix(proxy): cancel upstream gemini request and release httpx connection on client disconnect (#30075) * fix(proxy): cancel upstream gemini request and release httpx connection on client disconnect - add _check_request_disconnection to common_request_processing; wrap llm_call as asyncio.Task so it can be cancelled; catch CancelledError and raise HTTPException(499) when client disconnects before LLM responds (non-streaming path) - pass raw httpx.Response into ModelResponseIterator in make_call/make_sync_call so the iterator holds a reference to the underlying connection - implement ModelResponseIterator.aclose() and .close(): close the line iterator then explicitly call response.aclose()/response.close() to release the httpx connection when the client drops mid-stream; errors are debug-logged, not raised - add tests for _check_request_disconnection (cancels task, graceful on exception, does not cancel when client stays connected) and base_process_llm_request 499 behavior; add TestModelResponseIteratorCleanup verifying aclose/close propagation through CustomStreamWrapper * fix(proxy): record 499 on streaming disconnect and cancel orphaned gather tasks Wire streaming generator cleanup to log client_disconnected with error_code 499 in spend logs, cancel pending during_call_hook tasks when the LLM call is cancelled on disconnect, and align the 600s poll limit comment with proxy_server. * fix: extract client disconnect logging helper to satisfy PLR0915 * fix: resolve mypy and code-quality CI failures for client disconnect logging Cast client disconnect error_information for mypy, only await pending gather tasks to avoid masking LLM errors, and add tests for the new logging helper and gather cleanup. * fix(proxy): harden gather cleanup so finally cannot mask LLM errors * fix(proxy): shield streaming disconnect logging and strip spoofable metadata Move streaming disconnect recording into a shielded cancel scope, add gather cleanup regression coverage for guardrail-converted cancels, and strip client_disconnected/error_information from user metadata at the proxy boundary. * fix(proxy): only map CancelledError to 499 for client disconnect Track when the disconnect poller cancels the LLM task and re-raise other CancelledError paths so graceful shutdown is not reported as HTTP 499. * fix(proxy): remove dead _check_request_disconnection helper Non-streaming client disconnect is handled by staging's cancel_on_disconnect path via _await_llm_call_cancelling_on_disconnect. Drop the unused is_disconnected poller and its unit tests; rename the remaining integration tests to TestDisconnectGatherCleanup. * feat(mistral): add mistral-medium-3-5 to model_prices_and_context_wind.. Adds api_base to the Google_AI_Studio credential form ordered before api_key (matching OpenAI/Anthropic conventions). Default value matches the canonical Google AI Studio endpoint that LiteLLM's gemini provider talks to when api_base is unset, so leaving the default in the form behaves identically to leaving it blank. 2. reset credential form state when switching providers Switching the Provider select in AddCredentialModal / EditCredentialModal left the previous provider's field values populated. The form then submitted a mixed payload (e.g. Azure deployment fields under an OpenAI credential), producing confusing failures. Extract `getProviderFieldDefaults` helper and reset the form to it on provider change. Unit-tested via the extracted helper because Antd Select's portal/dropdown behaviour is unreliable in jsdom. 3. logging callbacks table reads backend `type` for Mode badge (#35) The `/get_callbacks` proxy endpoint returns each callback as `{name, type, variables}` where `type` is `"success"` or `"failure"`. The same callback name can appear twice (one per event class) and the two entries fire on disjoint events. `LoggingCallbacksTable` ignored `type` and read `record.mode` (always undefined), so every row fell back to the "Success" badge. A `generic_api` callback registered for both classes showed up as two identical "Success" rows + React duplicate-key warning. Read `record.type` first (fall back to `record.mode` for newly- added not-yet-server-acknowledged rows). Composite rowKey `${name}-${type ?? mode ?? 'success'}`. Removed leftover debug `console.log`. * fix(ui): drop api_base default_value to preserve Gemini v1alpha auto-routing Greptile P2 (PR #30419, threads on lines 1255-1256 of provider_create_fields.json): the api_base field's `default_value` was hard-coded to "https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1beta". This: 1. Bakes v1beta into every credential record saved through the form, even when the user never touched the field. If LiteLLM's internal gemini default URL ever changes, those persisted credentials keep hitting the stale path. 2. Bypasses `_get_gemini_url`'s automatic version routing for Gemini 3+ models. That helper picks v1alpha for Gemini 3+ and v1beta for older models when api_base is unset. With the default pre-filled (and `_check_custom_proxy` then taking over because api_base is non-empty), Gemini 3+ requests get pinned to v1beta and may fail or behave unexpectedly — purely because the user accepted the visible default. Fix: set `default_value` to `null` and move the canonical URL guidance into the `placeholder` (visible to the user, never persisted) and an expanded tooltip. UX is unchanged — the URL is still shown in the greyed-out input — but the auto-version-routing path stays default. Updated test_google_ai_studio_provider_fields_expose_api_base to assert the new contract (`default_value is None`, `placeholder` carries the canonical URL), with a comment pointing at the Greptile threads as the rationale so future contributors don't accidentally re-introduce the default. 26/26 tests in the file pass. JSON validates (`json.load` clean). * feat(azure_ai): add gpt-5.5 to model cost map (#30428) * feat(azure_ai): add gpt-5.5 to model cost map Adds azure_ai/gpt-5.5 and its dated snapshot azure_ai/gpt-5.5-2026-04-23 to both the canonical and bundled cost maps. gpt-5.5 is generally available on Azure AI Foundry; pricing mirrors the openai gpt-5.5 entry, matching the established azure_ai convention (verified identical for gpt-5.4), in the azure tier structure (base / above-272k / priority). supports_minimal_ reasoning_effort is false, the capability that changed from gpt-5.4. feat(bedrock): aws_bedrock_project_id for bedrock-mantle project / workspace association (#30163)
* feat(bedrock): support aws_bedrock_project_id for bedrock-mantle project association Adds a litellm_params field to associate bedrock-mantle requests with an Amazon Bedrock project, sent as the OpenAI-Project header on the OpenAI-compatible chat and responses paths and as the anthropic-workspace header on the Anthropic messages paths. This lets a single model entry opt into a project-scoped data retention mode (e.g. provider_data_share for Claude Fable 5) while the account-wide setting stays on default. The param is carried via litellm_params only and is explicitly excluded from optional_params so it can never leak into a request body. Fixes #30070 * chore(ui): regenerate schema.d.ts for aws_bedrock_project_id Generated with npm run gen:api after adding the field to LiteLLM_Params * fix(proxy): ban client-supplied aws_bedrock_project_id in request bodies The deployment pins aws_bedrock_project_id so the project's data retention policy applies to its requests. Without this guard an authenticated caller could supply the field in the request body and, since client kwargs win the router merge, run requests under any project reachable with the deployment's shared AWS credentials. Adds the field to _BANNED_REQUEST_BODY_PARAMS so it is rejected at the auth boundary by default while remaining available through the existing admin opt-ins (allow_client_side_credentials proxy-wide or configurable_clientside_auth_params per deployment). |

Sessions with more than 50 calls had the rest unreachable in the UI (#29153). sessionSpendLogsCall now takes page/page_size, and the drawer fetches the first page, reads total_pages, then fetches the remaining pages and accumulates them before the existing client-side sort. This keeps the single continuous list (and the selected-log lookup and keyboard navigation, which all assume the full session) correct. Fetching is bounded by a page cap, and the sidebar shows a "showing most recent N" note if a session exceeds it. The rows are lightweight metadata (the endpoint excludes messages/response), so the full set is small; request/response bodies are still loaded per log on demand. * fix(ui): default session drawer to most recent log, newest first Open a session with its most recent log selected, and order the sidebar newest-first to match the all-sessions logs overview. MCP calls stay grouped last. The latest log by time is computed explicitly, since the MCP grouping means it is not always the first row. * Apply fetching pages in batches suggestion from @greptile-apps[bot] Co-authored-by: greptile-apps[bot] <165735046+greptile-apps[bot]@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): derive session total from accumulated rows when backend omits it Compute the session total after all pages are fetched, falling back to the accumulated row count rather than the first page's. The inference path already resolves these to the REP host (https://aiplatform.{geo}.rep.googleapis.com) via get_vertex_base_url(); reuse that helper in _get_token_and_url_context_caching so caching uses the same host as inference. The fields remained unchanged in the database. Root causes: - /key/update: prepare_key_update_data() popped budget_duration from the update dict but never re-added it (or budget_reset_at) when the value was None. - /team/update: _set_budget_reset_at() only acted when budget_duration was non-None, leaving a stale budget_reset_at in the DB. - /team/update: team_member_* null values bypassed the budget table update entirely because should_create_budget() requires at least one non-None field. * test(proxy): cover no-budget-row path in clear_team_member_budget_fields * fix(presidio): unmask PII tokens in Anthropic native SSE streaming bytes (#30028) * fix(presidio): unmask PII tokens in Anthropic native SSE streaming bytes When output_parse_pii=true on the Anthropic native path (anthropic/claude-*), response chunks arrive as raw bytes in SSE format. _stream_pii_unmasking was yielding those bytes unchanged, so <PERSON_1> tokens were never replaced with the original values before reaching the caller. Add _unmask_sse_bytes_chunk to parse each data: line, find content_block_delta / text_delta events, and apply _unmask_pii_text before re-encoding. Wire it into _stream_pii_unmasking so bytes chunks are unmasked when pii_tokens exist. * fix(presidio): handle CRLF line endings and non-ASCII PII in SSE unmask Strip trailing \r before the [DONE] guard so CRLF-terminated SSE chunks don't bypass it and silently swallow a JSONDecodeError. Add ensure_ascii=False to json.dumps so non-ASCII replacement values like accented names are preserved as UTF-8 on the wire rather than being \uXXXX-escaped. Add regression tests for both cases. * feat(bedrock_mantle): path-aware Responses routing (/v1/responses vs /openai/v1/responses) (#29925) * feat(bedrock_mantle): path-aware Responses routing (/v1/responses vs /openai/v1/responses) Bedrock Mantle serves the Responses API on two upstream paths: - gpt frontier models (gpt-5.5 / gpt-5.4) on /openai/v1/responses - every other Responses-capable model (e.g. gpt-oss) on the standard /v1/responses BedrockMantleResponsesAPIConfig gains a `use_openai_path` flag; the provider gate in utils.py picks the path per model: openai.gpt-* (non gpt-oss) -> /openai/v1/responses; any model declared mode=responses (price-map entry or user model_info) -> /v1/responses; everything else returns None and keeps the existing chat-completions emulation. Adds gpt-5.5 / gpt-5.4 price-map entries, registry wiring, and the routing-matrix tests. * feat(bedrock_mantle): data-driven frontier routing via use_openai_responses_path Addresses the Greptile review point that frontier detection should be a price-map field rather than a hardcoded name match. The gate now routes a model to /openai/v1/responses when its price-map entry declares use_openai_responses_path, so a frontier model whose name does not follow the openai.gpt- convention can be onboarded by JSON alone. The name-convention check is kept as a fallback that needs no price-map entry, which preserves zero-change routing for a future gpt-6 before its entry loads. gpt-5.5 / gpt-5.4 get the flag in both price maps. Adds tests for the data-driven flag path and for the flag presence on the gpt-5.x entries; both branches are mutation-tested. * test(model_prices): allow use_openai_responses_path in price-map schema The model_prices_and_context_window.json schema validator (test_aaamodel_prices_and_context_window_json_is_valid) enforces additionalProperties: false, so the new use_openai_responses_path flag on the gpt-5.5 / gpt-5.4 entries failed validation. Add it to the schema as a boolean, alongside the other supports_* / capability flags. * Add Tensormesh serverless models to the model cost map (#30037) * Add Tensormesh serverless models to the model cost map * Flag reasoning support on the Tensormesh models that expose thinking mode * fix(proxy): invalidate stale key spend counter after budget reset or manual spend update (#30001) * fix(proxy): reconcile stale key spend counter after budget reset * fix(proxy): invalidate stale key spend counter after budget reset or manual spend update * fix(proxy): remove read-time stale counter reconciliation to prevent budget bypass * revert: undo unrelated formatting changes in enterprise directory * test(proxy): add unit test for key spend update invalidating counter * test(proxy): fix mocked update_data and hash token expectations in unit test * fix(proxy): use Responses-API transformer in pass-through cost tracking (#29728) The `elif is_responses:` branch of `openai_passthrough_handler` was calling the chat-completions `transform_response` on a Responses API payload. The chat-completions transformer expects `choices: [...]` in the raw response; the Responses API uses `output: [...]` and `usage.input_tokens` / `usage.output_tokens` (not `prompt_tokens` / `completion_tokens`). The result was a KeyError 'choices' deep inside `convert_to_model_response_object`, swallowed by the surrounding `except Exception` in the handler, and the SpendLogs row was written by the fallback path with zeroed-out tokens, spend, and model. This bug silently undercounts cost for every successful pass-through call to either OpenAI's `/v1/responses` or Azure's `/openai/v1/responses` (deployments configured for the Responses API). Reproduced 2026-06-04 against a real Azure OpenAI Responses API deployment proxied through LiteLLM v1.88.0. Fix: use the dedicated `OpenAIResponsesAPIConfig.transform_response_api_response` for the Responses branch. This transformer already exists in LiteLLM (`litellm/llms/openai/responses/transformation.py`) and knows the Responses-API on-the-wire shape. `litellm.completion_cost` already handles `ResponsesAPIResponse` natively with `call_type="responses"`, so no downstream changes are needed. Tests: test_responses_api_uses_responses_transformer_not_chat_completions NEW. Real regression test — exercises the openai_passthrough_handler with a real-shaped Responses payload (no `choices`, has `output` and Responses-API `usage` keys) and NO mocked `get_provider_config`. Pre-fix: raises KeyError 'choices' inside the chat-completions transformer (the bug). Post-fix: returns a ResponsesAPIResponse, completion_cost is called with call_type="responses" and a ResponsesAPIResponse instance (asserted). Verified to fail on un-fixed handler + pass on fixed handler before commit. test_responses_api_cost_tracking UPDATED. Old test mocked `get_provider_config` (no longer called in the responses branch post-fix). Now mocks the Responses transformer directly (`OpenAIResponsesAPIConfig.transform_response_api_response`) to test the downstream cost-calc contract. Out of scope for this PR (separate followup): - Recognizing *.cognitiveservices.azure.com (the newer Azure OpenAI hostname) in the is_openai_*_route checks. Separate PR. Fixes #28122. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> * fix(anthropic): synthesize content_block_start when Responses stream omits output_item.added (#30115) * fix(team): reserve team budget raises for proxy admins on /team/update (#30030) The caller's PERSONAL max_budget was the wrong yardstick for /team/update: a team's spend ceiling has nothing to do with the admin's own key budget. That comparison was an unintended side effect of reusing _check_user_team_limits() (which exists for the /team/new path) and broke the UI, which re-sends the unchanged budget on every save. New behavior on /team/update for standalone teams: - A team admin (already authorized via _verify_team_access) may freely KEEP or LOWER the team budget, and change models/tpm/rpm, without being gated by their personal limits. - GROWING a team's spend ceiling is a budget-authority action reserved for proxy admins -> 403 for team admins. "Growing" covers both raising max_budget above the team's current finite value and removing the cap entirely (max_budget=null, detected via model_fields_set so an explicit null is distinguished from an omitted field). For a team that currently has no cap, setting a finite value is a restriction and is allowed. - Org-scoped teams remain governed by _check_org_team_limits() (capped by the org budget). Also reverts the #29525 existing_team_max_budget workaround in _check_user_team_limits() back to the create-only form; /team/new still enforces the creator's personal caps. docs(access_control): resolve the contradiction in the team-admin section — team admins can keep/lower the budget and manage rate limits/models, but cannot raise the team budget (proxy-admin only). tests: unit + behavior coverage for raise-blocked, cap-removal-blocked (team admin), raise/removal allowed (proxy admin), uncapped-team restriction allowed, keep/lower/resend allowed, and unchanged create-path guards. Driven by e2e_tests/fixtures/migratedPages.ts, so adding a page is one line. Runs in two situations against the same proxy: the default mount (npm run e2e:migration) and a non-root SERVER_ROOT_PATH mount (npm run e2e:migration:root). globalSetup now logs in at `${SERVER_ROOT_PATH}/ui/login` so the admin storage state is valid under a prefix. Seeded with api-reference; append the rest as their migrations merge. * test(ui): support headed slow-motion + watch pauses in the migration smoke Honor SLOWMO in the server-root-path config (the default config already did), and add an env-gated E2E_WATCH_MS pause so a headed run lingers on each state. Both are no-ops by default, so CI behavior is unchanged. * test(ui): make the migration smoke a sidebar-click user journey Rework the smoke from deep-linking to a real navigation journey: start at the landing page, click the migrated page in the sidebar (expanding submenus for nested items), assert the path route rendered, reload it (the check a wrong server_root_path breaks), bounce to a legacy page and back, and — once two pages are migrated — navigate directly between two migrated pages. Verifies via URL + shell render, driven by the same fixture list. * test(ui): address review on the migration smoke Escape ROOT and segment before interpolating them into RegExp URL matchers so a future segment containing regex metacharacters can't silently widen the match. Make the server-root-path config fail fast when SERVER_ROOT_PATH is unset instead of silently re-running the default mount and passing without exercising the prefix. * test(ui): drop unused watch helper and fix stale smoke README * test(ui): run the migration smoke under a server root path in CI * test(ui): harden + instrument the server-root-path proxy reboot in CI * test(ui): run the server-root-path migration smoke as its own CI job Replace the in-place proxy reboot in e2e_ui_testing with a dedicated e2e_ui_testing_server_root_path job that boots the proxy once with SERVER_ROOT_PATH=/litellm, matching how every other proxy variant in the config gets its own job rather than killing and relaunching the live proxy. The reboot was failing deterministically: after pkill -9 and relaunch the prefixed proxy never came back up on :4000 (connection refused), so the smoke never ran. The readiness step that was supposed to surface the cause could never reach its boot-log tail because CircleCI runs steps under bash -eo pipefail and the preceding `curl -sv ... | tail` aborted the step with curl's exit 7. Booting the proxy as the job's own background step lets any boot crash land in that step's log instead of being swallowed. The default e2e_ui_testing job is unchanged aside from dropping the reboot, prefixed-readiness, and prefixed-smoke steps; the migration smoke still runs at the root mount there via the default Playwright config. * fix(proxy): extend response headers hook to streaming, TTS, image gen, and pass-through (#24232) * fix(proxy): extend response headers hook to streaming, TTS, image gen, and pass-through * test: mock post_call_response_headers_hook in audio speech route tests * chore(ui): remove dead App Router route stubs under (dashboard) (#30045) models-and-endpoints, organizations, and virtual-keys each had a page.tsx route under (dashboard)/ that is not in MIGRATED_PAGES, so the sidebar and deep links never resolve to it and the route is unreachable. Each was a thin wrapper that handed the shared view empty or no-op props (empty modelData with a no-op setModelData, hardcoded empty organizations, no-op setUserRole/setUserEmail), so reaching one would render a degraded page in any case. The real wrapper belongs in the PR that flips each page into MIGRATED_PAGES, written with eyes on it and a test This continues the dead-scaffolding cleanup from #28891. The shared components these wrappers rendered (ModelsAndEndpointsView, OrganizationFilters) stay, since the legacy ?page= switch in app/page.tsx and src/components still import them * fix(ui/mcp): reset OAuth state on create-server modal close so a prior server's token no longer leaks into the next add-server session (#30000) * fix(ui/mcp): reset OAuth hook state on modal close so a prior server's token no longer leaks into the next add-server session * fix(ui/mcp): clear in-flight OAuth guard on reset and reset form/tools on modal close so nothing leaks on a parent-driven dismiss * fix(mcp): allow team access-group grants in OAuth authorize/token access check (#30041) * fix(mcp): honor team access-group grants in OAuth authorize/token access check * test(mcp): mock build_effective_auth_contexts in non-admin authorize tests for isolation * docs(security): require a reproduction video for vulnerability reports (#30048) (#30063) With AI models capable of automated vulnerability discovery now publicly available, we expect a large increase in report volume, much of it unverified. feat(jwt-auth): opt-in fallback to DB team on unresolved JWT claim (#28913)
* fix(jwt-auth): defer to single-team DB fallback on claim mismatch Extends the single-team DB fallback introduced in #26418 to two more cases where it previously could not run: * `find_and_validate_specific_team_id`: when `team_id_jwt_field` is configured and a claim value is present in the token but the team does not exist in the LiteLLM DB (HTTPException 404 from `get_team_object`), return `(None, None)` instead of raising — the auth_builder fallback then attributes the request to the user's single DB team. Only HTTPException is caught; other errors (e.g. "No DB Connected") still propagate. * `find_team_with_model_access`: when none of the `team_ids_jwt_field` groups resolve to a real LiteLLM team, return `(None, None)` instead of raising 403 so the same fallback path runs. If at least one group DID resolve to a team but none granted the requested model, the original 403 is preserved (legitimate access denial — not a claim mismatch). Tracked via the new `any_claim_team_resolved` flag. The strict `is_required_team_id` raise and `enforce_team_based_model_access` raise remain unchanged. Unit tests cover both new soft-fail paths and guard each preserved path (strict required, enforce_team_based, the preserved 403, and the non-HTTPException propagation). Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> * fix(jwt-auth): narrow HTTPException catch to 404 (greptile review) Address Greptile review comments on #28913: * `find_and_validate_specific_team_id`: re-raise HTTPException when `status_code != 404`, pinning the catch to the "team doesn't exist in db" path documented for `get_team_object`. A future change that introduces a different status code (e.g. 403 for a blocked team) will now propagate instead of silently falling through to the single-team DB fallback. * Add `test_find_and_validate_specific_team_id_non_404_http_exception_propagates` parametrised over 400 / 403 / 500 to lock in the contract. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> * fix(jwt-auth): gate claim-mismatch fallback behind opt-in flag The unresolved-team-claim fallback added in the previous commit weakened the strict claim-based authorization contract by default — an authenticated user whose JWT carries a stale or invalid team claim could still consume their single DB team's models/quota via the fallback. Gate both soft-fail paths in `find_and_validate_specific_team_id` and `find_team_with_model_access` behind a new opt-in flag `team_claim_fallback` on `LiteLLM_JWTAuth` (default False). Default-off preserves the pre-existing strict behavior. Operators who intentionally treat IdP team claims as advisory (e.g. machine tokens whose group claims live in a separate namespace from LiteLLM team_ids) opt in via config. Adds two regression tests guarding the default-off behavior. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> |

Both are valid Azure OpenAI surfaces in production today. The OpenAI pass-through cost-tracking handler hard-codes only the older hostname in five places (four `is_openai_*_route` methods on OpenAIPassthroughLoggingHandler, plus is_openai_route on PassThroughEndpointLogging). As a result, calls from newer Azure deployments are silently classified as "not an OpenAI route", the dispatch into the cost-tracking handler is skipped, and tokens/cost never get extracted into LiteLLM_SpendLogs — the row gets written with prompt_tokens=0, completion_tokens=0, spend=0, model='unknown'. Reproduced 2026-06-04 against a real Azure OpenAI deployment on `*.cognitiveservices.azure.com` proxied through LiteLLM v1.88.0. Fix: factor the hostname check into a single helper `_is_openai_compatible_host` listing all three recognized surfaces (api.openai.com, openai.azure.com, cognitiveservices.azure.com), and have all five call sites delegate to it. Purely additive — never weakens recognition for the originally-supported hostnames. Adds a test `test_is_openai_route_recognizes_cognitiveservices_azure_com` that exercises all four `is_openai_*_route` static methods against `*.cognitiveservices.azure.com` URLs (positive cases per route + a small cross-route negative to confirm route-specific path matching still works on the new hostname). Out of scope for this PR (separate followup): - `openai_passthrough_handler` calls chat/completions `transform_response` on Responses API payloads (`output:` not `choices:`), which throws inside the dispatch and drops the SpendLogs row entirely. Recognized + tracked separately. * ci: trigger fresh run Empty commit to re-run checks. The previous auth-and-jwt failure was a transient HuggingFace Hub 429 rate-limit hitting tokenizer downloads in tests/proxy_unit_tests/test_custom_tokenizer_bug.py — unrelated to this PR's scope (hostname recognition in pass-through cost tracking). No code change. --------- Co-authored-by: shin-berri <shin-laptop@berri.ai> Co-authored-by: yuneng-jiang <yuneng@berri.ai> * fix(responses): preserve forced-function tool_choice name in Responses to Chat transform (#29812) The Responses API forces a specific function with a top-level name ({"type": "function", "name": "X"}), but _transform_tool_choice only handled the nested Chat Completions shape and fell through to returning "required" for the flat form, silently dropping the function name and degrading a forced function call to force-any-tool. Map the flat Responses shape to the nested Chat shape, keeping the "required" fallback when no name is present. * Preserve x-anthropic-billing-header system blocks for first-party Anthropic (#29584) * Preserve x-anthropic-billing-header system blocks for first-party Anthropic PR #20951 strips system blocks beginning with "x-anthropic-billing-header:" for every Anthropic target. That block is how the first-party Anthropic API recognizes Claude Code subscription (OAuth) traffic, so dropping it makes requests that carry only that block, such as the auto-mode tool-safety classifier, fail with a misleading 429 rate_limit_error; normal turns still work because they also carry the "You are Claude Code" identity block. Gate the strip behind should_strip_billing_metadata(), defaulting to False on the first-party AnthropicConfig and AnthropicMessagesConfig so the block is kept, and overridden to True on the providers that reach these transforms and reject the block (Bedrock platform, Vertex, Azure for the chat path; Minimax, Azure, DeepSeek for the messages path). Behavior for those providers is unchanged. * Strip billing header on Bedrock invoke and Vertex messages pass-through Two more subclasses reach the gated strip but inherited keep-by-default. AmazonAnthropicClaudeConfig (Bedrock invoke) calls AnthropicConfig.transform_request, which calls translate_system_message, and VertexAIPartnerModelsAnthropicMessagesConfig (Vertex messages pass-through) calls super().transform_anthropic_messages_request. Override should_strip_billing_metadata() to True on both. Add a parametrized test asserting the flag for every first-party base (False) and provider subclass (True), covering all overrides, plus a translate_system_message regression test for the Bedrock invoke path. * fix(cache): log hashed cache keys (#29890) * fix(ui): save routing groups as list (#29889) * Revert "fix(ui): save routing groups as list (#29889)" (#29928) This reverts commit |

fix(jwt): use resolved DB user_id for spend on legacy email match (#29217)
* fix(jwt): attribute spend to resolved DB user_id on email/sso fuzzy match When user_id_upsert is enabled with JWT auth and a pre-migration user row exists whose user_email matches the JWT email but whose user_id is a UUID, get_user_object resolves the legacy row via fuzzy lookup, but the JWT-claim user_id (the email) still flowed into team-membership lookup, JWTAuthBuilderResult.user_id, UserAPIKeyAuth and the spend tables. Spend was orphaned under a phantom email id; /user/info and the Usage page showed $0 for the legacy user (GH #26789). Treat the resolved user_object as the source of truth: add _canonical_user_id_from_db, rebind inside get_objects, and return effective_user_id so auth_builder unpacks it without adding statements. Fixes #26789 Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> * fix(jwt): log user_id rebind at DEBUG to avoid email PII in INFO streams Greptile review on #29217: rebinding often logs JWT email claims at INFO. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> * test(jwt): update passthrough allowlist mock for 5-tuple get_objects Staging #29256 added a test that still mocked get_objects with a 4-tuple; our PR expanded the return to 5 values (effective_user_id). fix(auth): expand all-team-models sentinel in can_key_call_model for batch validation (#29746)
* fix(auth): expand all-team-models sentinel in can_key_call_model Keys with models=["all-team-models"] were denied during batch JSONL model validation because can_key_call_model matched the literal string against the model name. Add _resolve_key_models_for_auth_check to expand the sentinel to team_models before the check, consistent with get_key_models in model_checks.py and the completion-route bypass. Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> * docs(auth): document empty team_models unrestricted access behavior; add regression test Adds a docstring note to _resolve_key_models_for_auth_check explaining that when team_models is empty, all-team-models resolves to [] which is treated as unrestricted access (consistent with get_key_models behavior on other auth paths). Adds a test to lock in this behavior. * fix(auth): deny all-team-models access when key has no team_id A key configured with models=["all-team-models"] but no team_id could previously resolve to an empty allowlist, which _check_model_access_helper treats as unrestricted access. Now the sentinel is only expanded when team_id is set; otherwise the unresolved sentinel stays in the model list and causes a deny (no real model name matches it). Same fix applied to get_key_models in model_checks.py for consistency across batch and non-batch auth paths. * style: black format model_checks.py * Fix batch all-team-models auth * style: black format batch_rate_limiter.py * fix(test): add tool_use_system_prompt_tokens to model prices schema validator * fix(batch): catch get_team_object errors to avoid 404 escaping batch auth * fix(batch): apply per-member model scope check after team auth in batch validation * Fail closed on batch team auth fetch errors * test(batch): cover team_object grant and member-scope denial in batch auth --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com> Co-authored-by: mateo-berri <277851410+mateo-berri@users.noreply.github.com> |
