chore(lint): remove PLR0915 too-many-statements ruff rule (#30574)
Drops PLR0915 from ruff's extend-select along with its per-file-ignores, and strips the now-unused `# noqa: PLR0915` directives across the codebase (RUF100 would otherwise flag them as unused). The C901 suppression that shared a directive with PLR0915 in streaming_handler.py is preserved. |

feat(proxy): enforce key/team guardrails on bedrock passthrough routes (#30194)
* feat(proxy): enforce key/team guardrails on bedrock passthrough routes
/bedrock/... passthrough routes silently skipped all guardrail hooks because
CallTypes.allm_passthrough_route had no entry in guardrail_translation_mappings.
Add a dispatcher (LlmPassthroughRouteHandler) registered for that call type that
routes to BedrockPassthroughGuardrailHandler for Bedrock Converse endpoints; wire
post_call_success_hook into both the JSON and AWS event-stream response paths in
common_request_processing, including full de-anonymization for streaming responses
with proportional text distribution across original event-stream delta frames.
* refactor(proxy): address greptile feedback on bedrock passthrough guardrails
Move botocore event-stream logic from proxy/ to BedrockPassthroughGuardrailHandler.de_anonymize_converse_stream; _handle_event_stream_allm_passthrough_route becomes a thin provider dispatcher. Pass custom_headers through _handle_non_streaming_allm_passthrough_route so early-return guardrail responses include x-litellm-call-id and related headers.

Replace the inline JSON/eventstream block in the streaming-request branch
with a call to _handle_non_streaming_allm_passthrough_route so both paths
share one implementation and cannot diverge.
* fix(bedrock): preserve trailing bytes when re-encoding converse stream
The event-stream re-encoder only emitted parsed frames, so any trailing
bytes left after the parse loop (truncated/corrupt final frame, or fewer
than 16 bytes after the last complete frame) were silently dropped from
the de-anonymized output. Capture and re-append them so the transformer
never truncates the stream.
* fix(proxy): guard non-dict post-call hook return on bedrock passthrough JSON path

Pre-call extraction only read top-level Converse text blocks, so blocked
content placed under toolResult.content[].text was forwarded to Bedrock
without the key/team guardrail seeing it. Extraction now walks nested tool
result text and write-back mutates the owning block in place.
Post-call buffering for passthrough used _has_post_call_guardrails, which
excludes event_hook=None guardrails. Those guardrails run at post_call, so
their output processing was skipped and the raw upstream body was returned.
Add a passthrough-specific predicate that counts them.
* refactor(proxy): route bedrock event-stream de-anonymization through llm passthrough dispatcher
Remove the hardcoded bedrock provider guard from common_request_processing
by delegating event-stream de-anonymization to LlmPassthroughRouteHandler,
which resolves the provider from the existing handler registry. Keeps
proxy/ provider-agnostic and reuses the same dispatch path as the input
and output guardrail handlers.
Also log instead of silently dropping the result when post_call_success_hook
returns a non-dict on the JSON and event-stream passthrough paths.
* fix(proxy): close guardrail bypass on bedrock invoke passthrough routes
Pre-call extraction and post-call output processing only handled Converse
shapes, so /bedrock/model/{modelId}/invoke and invoke-with-response-stream
returned unguarded. An authenticated caller could move blocked content into
an InvokeModel payload and skip the key/team guardrail entirely.
Non-Converse Bedrock routes now fall back to the generic passthrough handler,
which scans the full request and response payloads so blocking guardrails
still run, matching how other passthrough providers are guarded.

Key/team guardrails on bedrock converse passthrough only saw top-level
text blocks, so a caller could hide prompt content in toolUse.input or
toolResult.content[].json and have it forwarded to Bedrock without the
configured guardrail inspecting it, bypassing blocking guardrails by
default. Walk those arbitrary-JSON subtrees and write masked values back
in place. Extend the non-streaming converse response path to the
equivalent model-output fields (toolUse.input, reasoningContent text and
citationsContent text) while leaving structural values such as reasoning
signatures and citation sources untouched.
* fix(bedrock): make passthrough guardrail string collection iterative and type-safe
Rewrite _collect_strings with an explicit stack so it no longer recurses,
satisfying the recursive-function CI guard, and widen the holder container
type so mypy accepts indexing JSON nodes by str or int keys.
* fix(proxy): scope passthrough post-call guardrail buffering to the request
Buffering the Bedrock event stream into a single non-streaming response was
gated on whether any post_call guardrail existed globally, so every
converse-stream request lost streaming once any post_call guardrail was
registered, even for keys that did not reference it. Mirror the gate used by
post_call_success_hook (should_run_guardrail against the request's merged
guardrails) so only requests whose key/team actually trigger a post_call
guardrail are buffered.
* fix(bedrock): guardrail non-text converse stream deltas on passthrough
de_anonymize_event_stream only routed delta.text through the post-call guardrail, so model output streamed in reasoningContent.text, toolUse.input or citationsContent.content[].text was forwarded raw and skipped masking/blocking. Collect every user-visible text field per contentBlockDelta, concatenate per logical stream so split mask tokens still reassemble, run them through the hook, then redistribute the guardrailed text back into the matching delta fields. This brings streaming coverage in line with the non-streaming Converse output handler.
* refactor(proxy): keep bedrock event-stream content-type detection in llms
Move the vnd.amazon.eventstream content-type check out of the proxy
passthrough path into BedrockPassthroughGuardrailHandler via the
LlmPassthroughRouteHandler dispatcher, so proxy code stays
provider-agnostic. Also patch the actually-called
_has_post_call_guardrails_for_passthrough in the malformed-body
regression test instead of the unused _has_post_call_guardrails.
* fix(proxy): forward upstream headers on bedrock guardrail passthrough responses
Mirror the non-guardrail passthrough path by merging the upstream
response headers (via get_response_headers) into the guardrailed
non-streaming and event-stream responses, so headers like
x-amzn-requestid survive when a post-call guardrail rewrites the body.
Drop the stray fastapi HTTPException import from the SDK-tree handler
test in favor of a local sentinel exception.
* fix(bedrock): scan tool definitions and additional request fields for passthrough guardrails
Converse passthrough guardrails only scanned system and message content, so
a key holder could route blocked or PII text through toolConfig tool names,
descriptions and input schemas or through additionalModelRequestFields, all
of which are still forwarded to Bedrock. Collect strings from those fields
too so key/team guardrails inspect and rewrite them, matching how the
chat-completions path forwards tool definitions to guardrails.
* fix(bedrock): log instead of silently dropping passthrough guardrail edge cases
* test(local): skip httpbin timeout probe when the service returns 5xx
local_testing_part1 was failing on test_post_delay_exceeds_per_request_timeout_raises
because httpbin.org/delay/10 intermittently answers 503 instead of delaying, so
HTTPHandler.post raised MaskedHTTPStatusError rather than the expected Timeout. The
test already means to skip when httpbin is unavailable, but its guard only probed
GET /get and ignored a server error on the delay endpoint. Treat a 5xx from httpbin as
'service unavailable' and skip, which is outside this repo's control, while still
asserting Timeout when httpbin genuinely delays.

Only buffer a passthrough event stream into a non-streaming response when the
resolved provider and endpoint actually have an event-stream guardrail handler
that can rewrite frames (Bedrock converse-stream). Other Bedrock event-stream
endpoints such as invoke-with-response-stream keep streaming, since the Converse
handler leaves their frames untouched and buffering would silently break the
streaming contract for no content change.
* test(ui-e2e): re-issue deep-link navigation when auth bootstrap drops the page param
navigateToPage deep-links to /ui?page=<page> then proceeds once the network
settles, but a fresh load can race the auth bootstrap: the app momentarily
treats the session as anonymous, bounces through /ui/login, and returns to the
default Virtual Keys page with the ?page= query param dropped. The helper never
checked where it actually landed, so any single bounce left callers asserting
against the wrong page and timing out (mcpServers, modelHub, addModel).
Confirm the requested page is what rendered and re-issue the navigation when it
was clobbered; auth is warm by the second load so the param sticks. Migrated
path routes are left alone since they intentionally leave the legacy root.

* Add gpt-realtime-whisper Realtime transcription support (OpenAI + Azure) (#29775) * Add gpt-realtime-whisper Realtime transcription support (OpenAI + Azure) Adds first-class support for the gpt-realtime-whisper streaming speech-to-text model, which uses the Realtime transcription session API rather than the file-based /audio/transcriptions path. Model registration: registers gpt-realtime-whisper and azure/gpt-realtime-whisper with audio-duration pricing (input_cost_per_second = 0.017/60, matching the published $0.017/minute input audio rate). REST endpoint: implements POST /v1/realtime/transcription_sessions (plus /realtime and /openai/v1 aliases) to mint an ephemeral transcription session for the WebRTC flow. Adds request/response types, OpenAI and Azure URL builders, a shared base handler (refactored from the client_secrets handler), the acreate_realtime_transcription_session SDK function, and route registration. The proxy encrypts the ephemeral key returned under client_secret.value and records the session type in the token so the follow-up /realtime/calls replays type=transcription rather than type=realtime. When an upstream chunk both triggers a new content block (its type differs from the active block) and carries that block's first delta, the wrapper emitted `content_block_stop` -> `content_block_start` and then only re-queued the trigger chunk when it was an `input_json_delta` (bundled tool args). The synthesized `content_block_start` always carries an empty body, so the first `text_delta` / `thinking_delta` was lost — the client output started from the second token (e.g. "Hi, how can I help you?" rendered as ", how can I help you?", or text resuming after a tool call lost its first sentence). This is especially visible with Claude Code-style clients that consume Anthropic Messages streaming events strictly. Fix: re-queue the trigger chunk's translated delta whenever it carries non-empty content (text/thinking/signature/tool args), via a shared `_trigger_delta_has_content` helper used by both the sync and async paths. The result was a KeyError 'choices' deep inside `convert_to_model_response_object`, swallowed by the surrounding `except Exception` in the handler, and the SpendLogs row was written by the fallback path with zeroed-out tokens, spend, and model. This bug silently undercounts cost for every successful pass-through call to either OpenAI's `/v1/responses` or Azure's `/openai/v1/responses` (deployments configured for the Responses API). Reproduced 2026-06-04 against a real Azure OpenAI Responses API deployment proxied through LiteLLM v1.88.0. Fix: use the dedicated `OpenAIResponsesAPIConfig.transform_response_api_response` for the Responses branch. This transformer already exists in LiteLLM (`litellm/llms/openai/responses/transformation.py`) and knows the Responses-API on-the-wire shape. `litellm.completion_cost` already handles `ResponsesAPIResponse` natively with `call_type="responses"`, so no downstream changes are needed. Tests: test_responses_api_uses_responses_transformer_not_chat_completions NEW. Real regression test — exercises the openai_passthrough_handler with a real-shaped Responses payload (no `choices`, has `output` and Responses-API `usage` keys) and NO mocked `get_provider_config`. Post-fix: returns a ResponsesAPIResponse, completion_cost is called with call_type="responses" and a ResponsesAPIResponse instance (asserted). * fix duplicate cost callbacks for anthropic streaming pass-through Two bugs caused _PROXY_track_cost_callback to see stream=True + complete_streaming_response=None on every streaming pass-through request, making the dedup guard in dispatch_success_handlers permanently inactive: 1. pass_through_endpoints.py created the Logging object with stream=False for all requests. _is_assembled_stream_success short-circuits on self.stream is not True, so has_dispatched_final_stream_success was never set and any second dispatch went through unchecked. Fix: set logging_obj.stream = True after stream detection. 2. _create_anthropic_response_logging_payload set complete_streaming_response inside the try block after litellm.completion_cost(), so a pricing error caused an early return without setting it on model_call_details. Fix: set complete_streaming_response before the try block. * fix(passthrough): emit otel guardrail span when a guardrail blocks The otel_v2 logger emits guardrail spans from its post-call hooks by reading standard_logging_guardrail_information off the top-level metadata of the dict handed to those hooks. On passthrough, post-call guardrails run against a throwaway hook_data dict (metadata was already stripped off _parsed_body by _init_kwargs_for_pass_through_endpoint), so a deny that raises a non ModifyResponseException records its logging info on hook_data and then the generic failure handler forwards _parsed_body, which no longer carries it. The span was therefore present on allow but missing on block; the unified path keeps metadata on the same dict it passes to the failure hook, so its span always shows. Carry the guardrail logging entries recorded on hook_data over to the request_data forwarded to post_call_failure_hook so the failure path matches the unified path. Resolves LIT-3510 * test(passthrough): cover guardrail-logging carry helper; simplify helper Address review feedback on the guardrail-block span fix. Simplify _carry_guardrail_logging_info: the realistic failure path always builds fresh metadata on request_data, so the merge-into-existing-list branch was dead code. Use setdefault with a shallow-copied list so the carried entries never share the source hook_data list reference. Drop the module-level sys.modules proxy_server mock from the otel span test; pass_through_endpoints imports proxy_server lazily, so it is unnecessary and avoided the test-isolation risk of registering a mock under that key. Add pure unit tests for _carry_guardrail_logging_info (no otel dependency) that pin its contract: carries entries, copies the list, populates existing metadata without clobbering prior guardrail entries, and no-ops when there is nothing to carry. * test(passthrough): cover deny-path guardrail logging forwarding without otel The otel span regression test skips in coverage jobs that lack the optional opentelemetry package, leaving the failure-handler wiring (capturing hook_data and carrying its guardrail logging info) uncovered. Add an otel-independent regression that drives the real pass_through_request through a post-call deny and asserts post_call_failure_hook receives request_data carrying the standard_logging_guardrail_information. This reverts the Bedrock CI account migration (#28728). The original account
(888602223428) was put under an AWS security restriction after a leaked key
and has since been reactivated, while the replacement account (941277531214)
lacks access to several models the suites exercise (legacy Bedrock Claude 3
models, Cohere, Nova Canvas image gen, Bedrock batch inference, and flagship
Opus). Pointing CI back at the reactivated account restores that coverage.
This is the exact inverse of #28728: all hardcoded 941277531214 references go
back to 888602223428 (provisioned/imported-model ARNs, AgentCore runtime ARNs
and their suffixes, batch execution role ARN, and the example proxy config),
the S3 buckets revert to litellm-proxy and load-testing-oct, the guardrail IDs
revert to wf0hkdb5x07f and ff6ujrregl1q, the SageMaker endpoint and Knowledge
Base revert to their original ids, and the live-call tests go back to the
legacy model strings. The grid_spec fail_reason workaround for the unentitled
Opus cells is dropped while keeping the unrelated bedrock_effort_ceiling field
added after the migration.
The CircleCI AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID / AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY env vars still point at
941277531214 and must be set to the reactivated account's fresh credentials
separately via the CircleCI API; AWS_REGION_NAME stays us-west-2.

* perf: reduce per-request and per-chunk overhead across Anthropic streaming hot paths
- Introduce pure-text fast-path in `_build_complete_streaming_response` that collapses O(N) `content_block_delta` events into a single equivalent SSE event before conversion, eliminating per-output-token Pydantic `ModelResponseStream` construction; non-text streams (tool_use, thinking, citations) fall back to the unchanged legacy path
- Skip agentic streaming wrapper entirely when no callback overrides `async_should_run_agentic_loop`; the wrapper buffered every chunk and rebuilt the SSE response only to call hooks that all return `(False, {})` — a pure no-op for the default config
- Serialize request body once (`json.dumps`) for both the pre-call log input and the wire, instead of twice; avoids a full O(payload) scan per request, significant for long-context Claude Code histories
- Add fast path in `async_streaming_data_generator` that bypasses the per-chunk `async_post_call_streaming_hook` coroutine await, response-string materialization, and cost-injection call when no callback/guardrail/cost-injection is active (the default config)
- Resolve `_DD_STREAMING_TRACE_ENABLED` once at import time; eliminate per-chunk `NullSpan` context manager allocation when Datadog tracing is disabled (the default)
- Memoize `get_type_hints(AnthropicMessagesRequestOptionalParams)` with `@lru_cache(maxsize=1)` — resolves once per process instead of once per `/v1/messages` request (~80µs each)
- Hoist `cost_injection_active` out of the per-chunk loop in `chunk_processor`; eliminates repeated `getattr` + endpoint-type checks on every streamed byte chunk
- Extract `_build_passthrough_logging_result` from `_route_streaming_logging_to_handler` as a standalone static method to facilitate future off-loop dispatch
- Convert `async_sse_data_generator` from an `async for: yield` trampoline to a direct return of the underlying generator, removing one async-generator layer per streamed chunk
- Skip redundant `strip_empty_text_blocks_from_anthropic_messages` scan in `anthropic_messages_handler` when the async wrapper already sanitized (signalled via `_litellm_messages_presanitized` sentinel, popped before reaching provider params)
- Gate debug log `f-string` evaluation behind `isEnabledFor(DEBUG)` in both the streaming generator and the transformation layer to avoid serializing entire message payloads on every request at non-debug log levels
- Add benchmark script (`scripts/benchmark_anthropic_messages_perf.py`) with a local mock Anthropic SSE provider for reproducible TTFT and TPM measurement across commits/branches
- Add parity tests asserting fast-path and legacy-path produce byte-identical logged/billed payloads, plus unit tests for agentic hook detection, pre-serialized body reuse, and memoized key resolution
* perf: address greptile review for anthropic streaming hot path
- Bail to legacy in `_collapse_pure_text_chunks` when content_block_delta
events from different block indexes are observed without an intervening
flush. Anthropic sends blocks strictly sequentially, but defensive bail
prevents silent text-merging if the protocol ever interleaves.
- Replace leaf-class `__dict__` check for `async_post_call_streaming_hook`
in `_callback_capabilities` with a function-identity comparison that
walks the MRO. A vendor base class can carry the override and the
registered class can add nothing else; before this PR the hook was
unconditionally invoked, so an inherited-override miss would silently
drop the hook on the streaming path.
- Add unit tests for both behaviors.

non-None local inside the cost-injection branch so mypy narrows
correctly without changing runtime behavior.

When a client disconnects mid-stream from a Bedrock pass-through endpoint, Starlette calls aclose() on the async generator, raising GeneratorExit (a BaseException, not Exception) at the suspended yield. The previous `except Exception` blocks in _async_streaming/_sync_streaming (litellm/passthrough/main.py) and PassThroughStreamingHandler.chunk_processor did not catch GeneratorExit, so the post-loop flush that hands collected raw bytes to async_flush_passthrough_collected_chunks / _route_streaming_logging_to_handler never ran. All per-chunk usage data was silently dropped, undercounting spend for interrupted Bedrock invoke and converse streams. Move the flush into a finally block in all three sites and guard with a `flush_scheduled` flag so the success path still flushes exactly once. Also pull raise_for_status() out of the chunk-collection try block in _async_streaming so 4xx/5xx responses still raise and don't enter the flush path with zero bytes (preserving the behavior tested by test_async_streaming_error_propagation.py). Add regression coverage: - test_async_streaming_flushes_on_client_disconnect - test_async_streaming_flushes_on_upstream_exception_with_partial_data - test_sync_streaming_flushes_on_early_close - test_chunk_processor_logs_on_client_disconnect plus baseline tests for normal completion and the 4xx no-flush path. fix(passthrough): default auth=True; drop enterprise gate on the safe option
Pass-through endpoints configured in
``general_settings.pass_through_endpoints`` defaulted to ``auth: false``
and the safe ``auth: true`` setting was rejected at startup unless the
operator had a LiteLLM Enterprise license. Net result: OSS deployments
had **no safe configuration** — every pass-through admins added without
remembering ``auth: true`` shipped an unauthenticated forwarder, and
remembering ``auth: true`` raised a hard "enterprise-only" error.
Three changes:
* ``litellm/proxy/_types.py`` — flip
``PassThroughGenericEndpoint.auth`` default to ``True``. Operators
who add a pass-through with no explicit ``auth`` value now get a
safe, authenticated forwarder by default. Setting ``auth: false``
remains supported for genuine public-forwarder use cases (e.g.
webhook receivers).
* ``litellm/proxy/pass_through_endpoints/pass_through_endpoints.py``
— drop the ``premium_user`` gate around ``auth: true``. An
unauthenticated forwarder is a deployment choice operators should
be allowed to make explicitly, but the safe option must always be
free. The product-tier decision (which features sit behind the
enterprise license) is separate from "OSS users must always have a
safe option."
* ``litellm/proxy/auth/user_api_key_auth.py`` — the runtime dispatch
pulls pass-through endpoints from ``general_settings`` as raw
dicts, so the Pydantic default doesn't apply. Switched
``endpoint.get("auth")`` to ``endpoint.get("auth", True)`` so a
config dict without an explicit ``auth`` key still requires
authentication at request time.
Tests:
- ``test_passthrough_auth_defaults_to_true`` — Pydantic default is
now safe.
- ``test_passthrough_auth_can_still_be_explicitly_disabled``
— opt-in to ``auth=False`` still works for legitimate
public-forwarder use cases.
- ``test_register_passthrough_with_auth_true_works_for_oss``
— ``premium_user=False`` no longer rejects ``auth=true``.
- ``test_runtime_check_treats_missing_auth_key_as_authenticated``
— raw dict without an ``auth`` key now requires auth (the
previously-unauthenticated forwarder).
- ``test_runtime_check_explicit_auth_false_still_skips_validation``
— explicit opt-in still works.

The passthrough helper copied the upstream provider's Server: header (e.g. "cloudflare" from Anthropic) onto the FastAPI response. uvicorn then added its own Server: header on top, producing two Server: lines in the wire response. Strict HTTP parsers (aiohttp's, used in CI's passthrough tests) reject this with "Duplicate 'Server' header found" and the request fails with a 400. Same risk for Date, Content-Length, Connection, Keep-Alive: the ASGI server writes its own copy at serialization time. Forwarding the upstream's value either duplicates the header or lies about the re-serialized body length. Drop these from the forwarded set. Application/business headers (content-type, x-request-id, anthropic-ratelimit-*, etc.) still pass through unchanged. |

fix(proxy): pass-through multipart uploads and Bedrock custom body
- Route multipart forwarding on forward_multipart instead of empty _parsed_body so litellm_logging_obj no longer forces json= for file uploads. - Remove custom_body from pass-through endpoint signatures; FastAPI treated it as a JSON body and rejected multipart before the handler ran. Bedrock passes JSON via request.state (LITELLM_PASS_THROUGH_CUSTOM_BODY_STATE_KEY). - Use build_request + send(stream=True) for streaming multipart; httpx 0.28 AsyncClient.request does not accept stream=. - Add regression test for non-empty _parsed_body multipart path; update Bedrock custom-body test and query-params test for forward_multipart. fix(proxy): preserve multipart/form-data boundary in passthrough endpoints
Fixes issue where multipart file uploads through passthrough endpoints failed with RequestValidationError. The proxy was consuming the request body stream and FastAPI was trying to parse multipart bodies as JSON dicts. Changes: - Try JSON parsing first for multipart content-type (handles misconfigured clients) - Skip multipart parsing if JSON succeeds to avoid stream consumption - Remove custom_body parameter from endpoint_func to prevent FastAPI auto-parsing - Check for parsed body before using multipart handler - Add regression test for multipart boundary preservation Handles both actual multipart uploads and JSON bodies with incorrect multipart content-type headers. * fix: cursor pass-through reads credentials from UI (litellm.credential_list)
The pass-through route now checks litellm.credential_list as a fallback
when CURSOR_API_KEY env var is not set. This means adding credentials
via the UI (Models + Endpoints → LLM Credentials) works without any
config.yaml or environment variable setup.
Credential lookup order:
1. passthrough_endpoint_router (config.yaml with use_in_pass_through)
2. litellm.credential_list (credentials added via UI)
3. CURSOR_API_KEY environment variable
Also respects api_base from UI credentials if set.
