* test(e2e): cover add-fallback flow in Router Settings as proxy admin The Router Settings → Fallbacks → Add Fallbacks flow was an uncovered manual-QA path. This adds a test that opens the modal, picks a primary + fallback from the seeded mock models, saves, and verifies both render in the fallback table. * fix(e2e): make router-fallback test idempotent and pick antd options by text - Match `.ant-select-item-option` by text instead of `getByTitle(...)` — FallbackGroupConfig uses `options=` (not <Select.Option> children), so no `title` attribute is emitted and the title-based selector hangs. - Add before/after hooks that wipe any fallback for fake-openai-gpt-4 via /config/update so retries and local reruns don't trip on leftover state. - Tighten the success assertion to a single tbody row containing BOTH the primary and the fallback names — pre-existing rows can no longer vacuously satisfy the check. - Fix the stale "Three tabs" comment to "Four tabs". Addresses Greptile P2s on PR #29069. * fix(e2e): keyboard-select fallback models + correct cleanup endpoint - Replace mouse-based option clicks with click-to-focus + type + Enter. FallbackGroupConfig's Selects use `options=` and a custom getPopupContainer, so locating options via `.ant-select-dropdown` hit several races: DOM-clicks left antd's popup state stale (the primary popup then intercepted the fallback click), `getByRole` matched always-mounted hidden options, and pointer stability fought the open animation. Typing into the showSearch input narrows the listbox to one option and Enter selects it cleanly. - Assert on dialog-side state changes (the active tab adopts the primary model name; the chain helper shows "1/10 used") instead of popup contents — these reflect the actual selection landing. - Cleanup helper now hits /get/config/callbacks (the real endpoint; /get/callbacks returns 404), so the before/after reset actually clears prior router_settings.fallbacks state. |

* test(ui): e2e cover team model edit + admin identity in navbar
Adds two Playwright tests as part of the manual-QA → e2e migration:
"Edit team model selection" exercises the Settings tab Models multi-select
+ Save Changes flow on a seeded team, and the existing login test now
opens the User dropdown and asserts the role and User ID render — guarding
against regressions where login succeeds but the auth context is empty.
Resolves LIT-3093
* test(ui): restore seeded models in team-edit test so retries don't fail
The 'Edit team model selection' test removed fake-anthropic-claude from
E2E_TEAM_CRUD_ID without restoring it. CI runs with retries: 2 and the seed
script runs once before the suite, so a flake on this test would fail the
retry at the "tag is visible" assertion. Wrap the test in try/finally and
restore the seeded models via /team/update before and after.
* test(e2e): fail loudly if team/update restore call fails
Surfaces the real cause when the master key is wrong or the proxy is
unreachable, instead of silently leaving the team in a stale state and
failing later on the visibility assertion.
* fix(e2e): match navbar account button by aria-label, not non-existent "User" text
The previous trigger filter (hasText: /^User$/) didn't match the rendered
UserDropdown button — its text is the displayName ("Account" for the
master-key admin, an email for SSO users), never "User". The evaluate
call then timed out after 15s in CI. Use the stable aria-label prefix
the component always emits, and click directly since the dropdown is
configured trigger=["click"] (the synthetic hover was unnecessary).

* refactor(ui): extract auth state into AuthContext
Move auth state (token, userID, userRole, accessToken, premiumUser, userEmail,
disabledPersonalKeyCreation, showSSOBanner) out of src/app/page.tsx into a
new AuthProvider at src/contexts/AuthContext.tsx. Wrapped at the root layout
so login/onboarding/dashboard routes all have access via useAuth().
Day 1 foundation for the App Router migration: migrated (dashboard)/X/page.tsx
route entry points won't have a parent passing props, so shared auth state
must live in a context they can read from.
Sub-components are unchanged — they still receive accessToken/userID/userRole
as props from page.tsx (which now reads them from useAuth()). Only the
page.tsx → top-level-page-component handoff is de-drilled; deeper prop
drilling is left for the per-page migration to address.
Net change: -86 lines from page.tsx (state + two effects moved), +5 in
layout.tsx (provider wrap), new AuthContext.tsx (~140 lines), test update
to wrap CreateKeyPage in AuthProvider.

* fix(ui): await getUiConfig before clearing authLoading
The AuthContext refactor flipped authLoading to false synchronously on mount
while letting getUiConfig() run fire-and-forget. On SERVER_ROOT_PATH deployments
this races the unauthenticated login-redirect effect: the redirect fires with
proxyBaseUrl still at its module-init value, sending users to /ui/login instead
of {SERVER_ROOT_PATH}/ui/login.
Restores the original sequencing inside AuthProvider's mount effect and adds a
Playwright spec wired into the existing SERVER_ROOT_PATH workflow matrix. The
spec delays the config endpoint via page.route() to make the race deterministic
across CI runners.

refactor(ui): remove dead App Router scaffolding in (dashboard)/* (#28891)
Deletes 39 files across 12 unused subdirs under src/app/(dashboard)/. None of these routes are reachable: LEGACY_REDIRECTS in src/app/page.tsx is empty, the live UI renders everything via the legacy ?page=X switch, and no other code statically imports from these dirs. Kept api-reference, models-and-endpoints, organizations, playground, virtual-keys because they ARE imported by the legacy switch in src/app/page.tsx — they will be migrated properly in the App Router migration. Kept shared infra: layout.tsx, hooks/, components/, networking.ts, README.md — these are imported by live code. Clean baseline before the App Router migration (LIT-3128). |

fix(model-edit): allow clearing custom pricing on wildcard models (#28719)
* fix(model-edit): allow clearing custom input/output cost on wildcard deployments A user-set pricing override on a `/model/*` wildcard deployment could not be removed: clearing the Input/Output Cost fields in the UI succeeded visually, but the next read still showed the old values because both `litellm_params` and `model_info` (mirrored via `SPECIAL_MODEL_INFO_PARAMS`) retained the original rates. UI: when the pricing field is touched but left empty, send `null` instead of dropping it from the payload so the backend sees the clear intent. The cache-read-cost fallback now guards against `null` as well as `undefined` so a cleared input cost cannot silently wipe the cache-read override. Backend: `update_db_model` honors explicit-null clears, but ONLY for `SPECIAL_MODEL_INFO_PARAMS` (the 4 pricing fields). Restricting the null-clear path prevents a team-scoped caller from using this codepath to null out privileged fields like `team_id` or access groups. Tests cover both clear paths (`litellm_params` and `model_info`), the SPECIAL_MODEL_INFO_PARAMS mirror, PATCH semantics for omitted fields, and the security guard that non-pricing nulls don't reach the merged dict. Resolves LIT-3250 * fix(model-edit): run null-clears after both merges, not interleaved The previous version cleared `model_info` from inside the litellm_params merge block, but the subsequent `model_info.update(...)` re-injected the old pricing because the UI's PATCH carries the full model_info blob with the stale values still in it. Move the explicit-null clear pass to after both merges so a model_info passthrough cannot resurrect cleared fields. Adds a regression test for the realistic UI submit shape (both blobs in the patch, model_info still holding the old pricing). * test(e2e): clear-custom-pricing flow with create/delete cleanup Covers the dashboard model edit form's pricing-clear flow end-to-end: seeds a deployment with custom input/output pricing, drives the UI to clear both fields, asserts the outgoing PATCH sends explicit nulls, and confirms via /v2/model/info that the override is gone from both litellm_params and model_info. The dashboard DB persists across this suite, so beforeEach creates a uniquely-named deployment and afterEach POSTs /model/delete to leave the DB clean regardless of test outcome. * fix(model-edit): extend pricing clear to cache_read and cache_write costs Pre-existing parallel of the wildcard input/output cost bug: cleared cache_read_input_token_cost and cache_creation_input_token_cost overrides silently persisted because the UI omitted the key (delete or fallback) and the backend null-clear allowlist did not cover them. - types/router.py: add cache_read_input_token_cost and cache_creation_input_token_cost to SPECIAL_MODEL_INFO_PARAMS, so they are mirrored between litellm_params and model_info by Deployment.__init__ and honoured by the null-clear loop in update_db_model. - model_info_view.tsx: emit explicit null for touched-but-empty cache_read and cache_write fields. Preserve the input_cost->cache_read mirror only when cache_read itself was not touched. - model_management_endpoints.py: update the allowlist comment. - Tests: three new unit tests for cache clear paths and a preserve check; the e2e spec now seeds, clears, and asserts null PATCH + key-absence for all four pricing fields. |

* chore(admin-ui): regenerate static export with trailingSlash: true Rebuilds litellm/proxy/_experimental/out/ from ui/litellm-dashboard with `trailingSlash: true` enabled in next.config.mjs. Next.js now emits every route as <dir>/index.html (e.g. mcp/oauth/callback/index.html) instead of <dir>.html with a sibling metadata-only directory, which fixes the 404 on extensionless URLs served through FastAPI's StaticFiles(html=True) mount. This is the build artifact half of the fix; the config change, Dockerfile cleanup, and regression test live in the follow-up source PR that stacks on top of this branch. * fix(admin-ui): emit nested routes as <dir>/index.html (#28106) Linear and other OAuth providers redirect the user back to /ui/mcp/oauth/callback?code=...&state=... after the consent step. The packaged Next.js static export only produced /ui/mcp/oauth/callback.html, so FastAPI's StaticFiles served a 404 on the extensionless URL and the OAuth handshake never completed. The Dockerfile.non_root build step tried to paper over this at image-build time with `for html_file in *.html; do ...`, but that shell glob does not recurse, so nested routes like mcp/oauth/callback.html were left stranded next to an empty mcp/oauth/callback/ directory containing only Next.js metadata. The runtime restructure step in proxy_server.py was then skipped because the .litellm_ui_ready marker had already been dropped. Set trailingSlash: true in the dashboard's Next.js config so the export emits every nested route as <dir>/index.html natively. The Dockerfile loop is now a no-op for the bundled UI and has been removed; the .litellm_ui_ready marker is still written so the proxy keeps skipping the redundant Python restructure step at startup. fix(ui/add-model): stop vertex_ai-anthropic_models from leaking under Anthropic (#28723)
`getProviderModels()` matched a model into a provider's dropdown when the model's `litellm_provider` string *contained* the provider key as a substring. The intent was to admit suffix variants (e.g. `anthropic_text`, `bedrock_converse`), but the substring check is too loose: it also pulls in unrelated providers whose name happens to contain the key, most visibly `vertex_ai-anthropic_models` matching `anthropic` and `vertex_ai-openai_models` matching `openai`. Replace `.includes()` with separator-anchored prefix matching (`startsWith(provider + "_")` / `startsWith(provider + "-")`). All legitimate variants in `model_prices_and_context_window.json` still match (`anthropic_text`, `azure_text`, `azure_ai`, `bedrock_converse`, `bedrock_mantle`, `cohere_chat`, `fireworks_ai-embedding-models`, `vertex_ai-*`, `vertex_ai_beta`), and the cross-provider leak is closed. Tests: update one assertion that pinned the buggy substring behavior (`custom_openai_endpoint` matching `openai` — not a real provider value); add 6 new tests covering the leak regressions and the variant-preservation contract for vertex_ai/bedrock/fireworks. |

feat(mcp): Add tool call and tool list support via UI for Oauth mcps (#28454)
* feat(mcp): cache OAuth token client-side so Tools tab loads without re-auth
After a user creates an OAuth MCP server and completes the authorization
flow, the resulting access token is now stored in sessionStorage keyed by
server_id. The MCP Tools tab reads this cached token and includes it as
an MCP auth header when listing and invoking tools, so the user never sees
an empty tool list. When the session ends (tab close / new browser) an
Authorize button re-triggers the flow without leaving the Tools screen.

listMCPTools previously swallowed all errors (including HTTP 401) by
returning a synthetic { tools: [], error: 'network_error', ... } payload.
That made the useQuery retry-on-401 guard and mcpToolsError dead code,
so expired OAuth tokens never re-triggered the auth gate.
- Throw an enhanced Error with .status attached on non-2xx responses
(still preserves the legacy shape for true network failures so the
caller can render a generic message without crashing).
- Clear the cached OAuth session token when the tools query fails with
401, mirroring callMCPTool's onError handler so the Authorize button
is shown again.
- Surface mcpToolsError in the existing error banner.

The previous fix made listMCPTools throw on HTTP errors while still
returning a synthetic object on network errors. This inconsistent
contract broke existing callers (MCPToolPermissions, MCPAppsPanel,
MCPConnectPicker) which inspect result.error / result.message and
expect the function to never throw.
- Return a normalized { tools: [], error, message, status, ... }
object on HTTP errors (instead of throwing) so all callers see a
consistent shape and the user-visible error text from
result.message is preserved.
- Convert the returned error object into a thrown Error inside the
one caller that needs it — the useQuery in mcp_tools.tsx — so the
401 retry/onError handlers still trigger and clear the cached
OAuth token.

M2M (client_credentials) OAuth servers share auth_type="oauth2" with
interactive PKCE servers, but the backend fetches their token internally
and they typically lack a user authorization endpoint. Gating tool
listing on them rendered an Authorize button that would fail or redirect
incorrectly. Detect M2M via the presence of token_url (matching the
existing heuristic in mcp_server_edit.tsx) and skip the auth gate.

Forward the env var from run_e2e.sh and the CircleCI e2e_ui_testing job, and add a sanity test that decodes the admin storage state token and asserts premium_user=true so the wiring fails loudly if it ever regresses. When a new filter is applied to spend logs, React Query's keepPreviousData left stale rows on screen for 10–15s with no indication that a fetch was in progress. The previous custom isFilteringResults flag was removed in the #25847 toolbar refactor and only partially restored on the Fetch button. Use React Query's isPlaceholderData to discriminate a real filter change (queryKey changed, data not yet arrived) from a same-key live-tail refetch, and feed it into the existing isLoading prop on the toolbar pagination text and the table body. receives filters/setFilters as props and drives filteredLogs from a
useQuery over uiSpendLogsCall. Reshape the tests around that contract:
introduce a controlled harness that owns filter state, collapse the 10
per-filter assertions into a single it.each over filterKey → API param,
and drop the client-side passthrough tests (the .min test file and the
"return all logs when no filters" / "empty when logs null" cases) that
no longer correspond to any hook behavior.

Follow-up to the test refactor. Adds coverage for invariants the
refactored hook contract introduced but that the first pass didn't
assert:

userID), plus a separate test for activeTab !== "request logs"
- filterByCurrentUser: when true with a blank User ID filter, the
outbound request carries user_id = userID
- debounce: also assert the negative case — no call in the first 100ms
after a filter change (first waiting out the initial mount fire)
- handleFilterChange: partial updates merge without clobbering other
filter keys (protects the spread + default-fill semantics)
- handleFilterReset: calls setCurrentPage(1) alongside restoring
filters
* fix typo dropping the live-tail banner border
Tailwind silently ignores unknown classes, so border-greem-200 was
leaving the auto-refresh banner with only its bg-green-50 fill and no
outline.
* memoize columns and derived table data in SpendLogsTable
The table's columns array, four-pass data pipeline, and sort-change
handler were all being rebuilt on every parent render. That made every
filter click re-instance all 23 TanStack-Table columns, re-run
filter/reduce/map over all rows, and recreate per-row click closures —
all before the intentional 300ms debounce timer even got a chance to
fire.
Local measurement (40 rows, dev mode):
filter click → query fires: 1957ms → 1217ms (−38%)
Wrap createColumns in useMemo keyed on sortBy/sortOrder, hoist
onSortChange into a useCallback, and move the searchedLogs /
sessionComposition / sessionRepresentativeMap / filteredData derivations
into a single useMemo keyed on filteredLogs.data + searchTerm.
These were pre-existing issues on main — not regressions from the
hook refactor — but the refactor made them user-visible because the
new query debounce put render cost on the critical path.
* apply dropdown filters instantly, debounce only text inputs
Dropdown selects now bypass the 300ms debounce so a click updates the
table immediately. Text inputs (Key Hash, Error Message, Request ID,
User ID) still debounce. handleFilterReset also clears the pending
debounced value so a half-typed text filter can't re-fire after reset.
* fix(ui/spend-logs): restore lost loading/debounce behavior + cover dropped tests
Regressions from the spend-logs-view refactor:
- debounce the 'Public model / search tool' text filter (was firing a
backend query per keystroke) via TEXT_FILTER_KEYS
- restore Fetch-button smoothing through table repaint using
useDeferredValue on the rendered data (explicit staleness)
- show AntDLoadingSpinner during the auth-resolve phase instead of a
blank screen on first load
- only live-tail-poll while the tab is visible
(refetchIntervalInBackground: false)
- extract getLiveTailRefetchInterval helper for the poll decision
Tests:
- LogDetailContent: retries display (>0 / 0 / absent), overhead-absent
- log_filter_logic: regression guard that the public-model filter

VCR redis persister was raising UnicodeDecodeError on cached payloads that
fail to UTF-8 decode (e.g. legacy entries written by another version of
the persister), failing tests at fixture setup instead of degrading to a
cache miss. Wrap decode+deserialize in a try/except so corrupt cache
entries are treated as CassetteNotFoundError, surfacing the failure via
the existing _record_cache_failure / VCRCassetteCacheWarning path.
OpenAI shut down gpt-4o-realtime-preview-2024-12-17 (and the entire
gpt-4o-realtime-preview family) on 2026-05-07. The live realtime
guardrails integration test now fails with model_not_found instead of
receiving session.created. Point OPENAI_REALTIME_URL at the current GA
model gpt-realtime, and relax the assertion in
test_text_message_blocked_by_guardrail_no_ai_response to also accept the
model's refusal-to-repeat the block message (gpt-realtime declines
verbatim-repeat instructions, which is still a safe outcome since the
original user message was blocked before reaching OpenAI). The
BLOCKED_PHRASE leak check is preserved as a hard invariant.
* fix(tests): migrate realtime + nvidia_nim rerank tests off shut-down upstream models
OpenAI shut down the entire gpt-4o-realtime-preview family (including the
undated alias) on 2026-05-07. The live realtime tests still connected
with that dead alias and failed with messages_received=1 (an error event
'The model gpt-4o-realtime-preview does not exist' instead of
session.created). Point the live OpenAI realtime tests at gpt-realtime,
the current GA realtime model:
- test_openai_realtime_simple.py: get_model() -> gpt-realtime
- test_openai_realtime.py: test_openai_realtime_direct_call_no_intent and
test_openai_realtime_direct_call_with_intent -> openai/gpt-realtime
Mocked unit tests (test_realtime_query_params_construction,
test_realtime_query_params_use_normalized_model_name) are left as-is:
they never hit the network and assert string plumbing only.
NVIDIA reached end-of-life for the hosted
nvidia/llama-3.2-nv-rerankqa-1b-v2 rerank API on 2026-05-18 with no
published replacement, so the live BaseLLMRerankTest.test_basic_rerank
for nvidia_nim now returns HTTP 410 ('Gone'). NVIDIA's hosted catalog
rotates on a schedule, so swapping in another live model would only
defer the failure. Override test_basic_rerank in TestNvidiaNim to mock
the sync/async HTTP transport (same pattern as
test_nvidia_nim_rerank_ranking_endpoint in this file) and inject a fake
NVIDIA_NIM_API_KEY via monkeypatch. The request/response transformation
and cost calculation stay covered offline.
* test(callbacks): harden flaky proxy callback-leak detector
The proxy callback-leak detector (test_check_num_callbacks_on_lowest_latency)
was failing on this PR with 'abs(85 - 95) <= 4' — a bounded one-time
registration jump caused by switching to latency-based-routing
(+LowestLatencyLoggingHandler, +SlackAlerting). The count then plateaus
under load, so this is pollution from the test's own config update, not a
leak.
Replace the brittle two-sample diff threshold with a sampler that settles
past the deliberate config switch and only flags sustained monotonic
per-type growth, with a terminal-burst confirmation pass for leaks that
would otherwise escape the >=2-interval guard. Normalizes instance
addresses so identical callbacks at different memory locations collapse,
and names the leaking type on failure.
* fix(interactions): preserve first text token when both start events are missing
When OutputTextDeltaEvent arrived before any ResponseCreatedEvent or
ContentPartAddedEvent, the double-fallback path emitted interaction.start
and silently dropped the first delta's text — the second delta's
content.start carried only that chunk's delta, and the first token never
made it to any content.delta event consumed by the UI.
Queue a content.start that carries the first delta's text alongside the
interaction.start emission, and drain pending events before pulling the
next upstream chunk.

test(ui): preserve global Button/Tooltip mocks in per-file @tremor/react vi.mock
Per-file `vi.mock("@tremor/react", ...)` factories fully replace the
setup-level mock from `tests/setupTests.ts`, so the global Button/Tooltip
overrides are lost in any file that re-mocks `@tremor/react`. Without
them, the real Tremor `<Button>` leaks through and its internal
`useTooltip(300)` schedules a native 300ms `setTimeout` on pointer
events. When the test environment is torn down before the timer fires,
the trailing `setState` calls `getCurrentEventPriority`, which reads
`window.event` against a destroyed jsdom -> "window is not defined"
flake observed on CI.
Patches the 7 leaky test files to re-supply `Button` (bare `<button>`)
and `Tooltip` (Fragment) overrides matching `setupTests.ts`. Also drops
a dead `afterEach` workaround in `user_edit_view.test.tsx` (the
fake-timer dance it ran could not drain a real timer scheduled before
the swap) and corrects a misleading comment in `MakeMCPPublicForm.test.tsx`.

The navbar version tag and the detailed-debug-mode banner stopped working because they were still reading those fields from the unauthed response, which no longer contains them. Replace `useHealthReadiness` with a `useHealthReadinessDetails` hook that takes an `accessToken` argument and sends a Bearer header to the auth-gated endpoint. The hook stays disabled while `accessToken` is falsy, so the navbar can keep rendering on the public model hub (where the token is null) without triggering an auth redirect or a 401-loop. * fix(ui): disable retries on readiness/details + cover token forwarding Two small follow-ups on the readiness/details migration: - Set `retry: false` on the query. The payload feeds a passive navbar tag and a debug banner; a 401 from an expired token shouldn't fan out into three retries against the proxy. - Add navbar specs that assert the `accessToken` prop is forwarded into the hook (matches the DebugWarningBanner spec). Without this, the navbar could silently regress to passing `undefined` and the existing tests wouldn't catch it. |

* fix(ui): omit allowed_routes from key edit save when unchanged When a team admin opens Edit Settings on a key with key_type=AI APIs and saves without changing anything, the UI re-sends the existing allowed_routes value, which the backend's _check_allowed_routes_caller_permission gate rejects for non-proxy-admins (LIT-2681). Strip allowed_routes from the patch in handleSubmit when it deep-equals the original keyData.allowed_routes. The backend treats absence as "leave alone," so no-op saves now succeed for non-admins. [UI] Rename "Default" key type to "Full Access" and reorder dropdown (#27218)
The Create New Key dialog had a "Default" key-type option that was
misleading: it was not the actual default selection (AI APIs is), and it
grants access to all routes — broader than the description implied.
Rename the option to "Full Access" with an accurate description, and
reorder the dropdown to AI APIs → Management → Full Access. Switch the
inner labels to antd Typography for consistency with the rest of the UI.
UI-only change; the underlying enum value ("default") is unchanged so
the API contract is preserved.

fix(anthropic, mcp): sanitize tool names to match Anthropic's [a-zA-Z0-9_-]{1,128} pattern (#26788)
* fix(anthropic, mcp): sanitize tool names to match Anthropic's `^[a-zA-Z0-9_-]{1,128}$`
Tool names with characters like `/` or `.` (commonly produced by the
OpenAPI -> MCP generator from `operationId`s such as
`actions/download-job-logs-for-workflow-run`) caused Anthropic to reject
requests with `tools.N.custom.name: String should match pattern
'^[a-zA-Z0-9_-]{1,128}$'`.
Two layers of fix:
1. Anthropic transformation: build a per-request forward map (original ->
sanitized, disambiguated by suffix on collisions) and a reverse map
(only for names actually rewritten). Forward map is applied to tool
defs, `tool_choice`, and historical assistant tool_calls in messages.
Reverse map is threaded through both the non-streaming and streaming
response paths so callers continue to see their original tool names
in `tool_use` blocks.
2. OpenAPI -> MCP generator: sanitize `operationId` (and the
method+path fallback) at registration time so generated MCP tools are
valid for any strict-name provider, not just Anthropic. The dashboard
preview endpoint applies the same sanitization for parity.
Includes unit tests covering: collision disambiguation between
`foo_bar` and `foo/bar` in the same request, reverse-map only firing
for actually-rewritten names, message rewrite for historical tool_calls,
streaming chunk_parser reverse-mapping, and sanitization of OpenAPI
operationIds plus the preview endpoint output.

* fix(anthropic): build tool-name maps in transform_request, not optional_params
The previous patch stashed the per-request forward and reverse tool-name
maps under ``optional_params["_anthropic_tool_name_forward_map"]`` and
``optional_params["_anthropic_tool_name_map"]``. ``optional_params`` is
the dict that becomes the JSON body via ``data = {**optional_params}``,
so those internal keys leaked over the wire and Anthropic 400'd with:
_anthropic_tool_name_forward_map: Extra inputs are not permitted
Worse, this meant *every* request whose tool list contained any name with
an invalid character (the exact case the patch was meant to fix) regressed
into a confusing meta-error pointing at LiteLLM's internal map instead of
the offending tool.
Fix: move all tool-name sanitization into ``transform_request``, which is
the single chokepoint already shared by ``AnthropicConfig``,
``AmazonAnthropicConfig`` (Bedrock invoke), ``VertexAIAnthropicConfig``,
and ``AzureAnthropicConfig`` (all call ``super().transform_request`` /
``AnthropicConfig.transform_request(self, ...)``). New static helper
``_sanitize_tool_names_in_request`` walks the already-Anthropic-shaped
``optional_params["tools"]`` (only ``type=="custom"`` entries -- hosted
tool names are reserved by Anthropic and must not be touched), builds
the per-request forward/reverse maps, and applies the forward map in
place to ``tools[*].name`` and ``tool_choice.name``. The reverse map is
stashed exclusively on ``litellm_params`` (which is never serialized to
a provider) under ``_anthropic_tool_name_map`` for the response paths
to consume.
Side effect of this restructure: ``map_openai_params`` is now a pure
OpenAI->Anthropic param translator with no side-channel state, which
matches its contract everywhere else in the codebase.
Tests: replaced the now-incorrect "stashes maps in optional_params"
tests with regressions that assert no underscore-prefixed keys appear
in either ``optional_params`` after ``map_openai_params`` or in the
final ``transform_request`` body. Added end-to-end coverage for:
sanitization in ``transform_request``, ``tool_choice`` rewriting,
historical ``tool_calls`` rewriting in messages, and hosted-tool
passthrough.

* fix(anthropic): always sanitize empty text content blocks
Anthropic 400s on `{"role": "user", "content": ""}` with:
"messages: text content blocks must be non-empty"
LiteLLM already had `_sanitize_empty_text_content` to rewrite empty text
to a placeholder, but it was gated behind `litellm.modify_params=True`.
With that flag off (default), empty content from upstream agent
frameworks (e.g. pydantic-ai) flowed straight through and tripped the
Anthropic validator.
Fix:
- Always run `_sanitize_empty_text_content` at the top of
`anthropic_messages_pt`, independent of `modify_params`. There is no
way to "pass through" an empty text block, so this is non-optional.
The richer tool-call sanitizations (Cases A/B/D, which actually
mutate conversation structure) remain gated on `modify_params`.
- Extend `_sanitize_empty_text_content` to also handle list-of-blocks
content (`[{"type": "text", "text": ""}]`), not just string content.
Adds 3 regression tests covering string content, list-of-blocks
content, and the no-op case (non-empty messages with modify_params off).

* fix(anthropic): drop dead tool-name forward-map params, fix mypy + caller-mutation
- remove unused `name_forward_map` param from `_map_tool_choice`,
`_map_tool_helper`, `_map_tools` and the `_apply_anthropic_tool_name_forward`
helper. Production sanitization runs in `_sanitize_tool_names_in_request`
at `transform_request`; these params were never threaded through.
- handler.py: use `ANTHROPIC_TOOL_NAME_REVERSE_MAP_KEY` constant instead of
the hardcoded `"_anthropic_tool_name_map"` string.
- fix mypy `"object" has no attribute "__iter__"` in
`_rewrite_tool_names_in_messages` by guarding `tool_calls` with
`isinstance(..., list)`.
- `_sanitize_tool_names_in_request`: build a new tools list with copy-on-
change entries (and copy `tool_choice` on rewrite) so a caller reusing
the same tool list/dicts across requests doesn't see its inputs
permanently rewritten.
- doc-comment `_build_request_tool_name_maps` clarifying it operates on
OpenAI-format tools (vs `_sanitize_tool_names_in_request` which runs
on Anthropic-format tools post-`_map_tools`).
- tests: drop 3 tests pinning the now-removed param paths; add coverage
for tool_calls + None function_call rewrite and caller-dict immutability.

When editing an existing MCP server, the Tool Configuration preview
calls POST /mcp-rest/test/tools/list with server_id but no credentials
(management API redacts them). The endpoint now calls
_inherit_credentials_from_existing_server() so stored bearer tokens
and OAuth2 M2M credentials are loaded from global_mcp_server_manager
automatically — tools load without re-entering credentials.
New servers (no server_id) and requests with explicit credentials are
unaffected (function is a no-op in both cases).

names that collide get different suffixes in preview vs registration,
so the dashboard shows names that don't match what actually got
registered.
Also adds a regression test that fails on the swapped order.

If the same invalid tool name appeared twice in original_names (e.g.
['foo/bar', 'foo/bar']), the second occurrence overwrote the forward
map entry with a freshly-suffixed name (foo_bar_2), leaving foo_bar
orphaned in 'used' with no reverse mapping. _sanitize_tool_names_in_request
then rewrote both tool entries to foo_bar_2, and Anthropic 400'd on
duplicate tool names.
Skip the rewrite if forward already has the original mapped.

The guardrail VAD injection code sent a beta-style session.update with a
flat turn_detection field:

When the upstream OpenAI backend operates in GA mode (no OpenAI-Beta
header forwarded), it requires the nested GA shape:

The _remap_beta_session_to_ga helper was only applied to client-
originated session.update messages in client_ack_messages. Internally-
generated session.updates (sent via _send_to_backend) in two paths:
- _handle_raw_backend_message (raw/no provider_config path, line 518)
- backend_to_client_send_messages provider_config path (line 481)
bypassed the remap, so GA upstreams ignored or rejected them, breaking
audio transcription guardrails for all non-beta clients.
Fix: add _make_disable_auto_response_message() helper that always emits
the correct GA-shaped session.update, and replace both injection sites
with it.
Update existing tests to assert the GA nested shape instead of the old
flat beta shape, and add a new unit test for the helper itself.
