test: drop the cwd-relative sys.path.insert calls from the test suite (#37802)
* test: drop the cwd-relative sys.path.insert calls from the test suite

TQ003 stands at 1,077 across 1,058 files, and 1,015 of them are the same shape:
sys.path.insert(0, os.path.abspath("../..")) and its deeper siblings. The
argument resolves against the working directory rather than the file, so from
the repo root, where every job runs pytest, it inserts the directory two levels
above the checkout. It has never pointed at litellm. The package is installed
into the environment anyway, which is what actually makes the import work, and
what the rule's message has said all along.

Removing them leaves 1,634 imports of sys and os with no remaining reference,
and those go too, except where another test module imports the name back out of
the file. The rest of TQ003 is 62 call sites that resolve against __file__ or a
variable, which are a different question and are left alone.

Collection is identical either way: 45,871 tests and the same 51 pre-existing
collection errors before and after, and ruff reports no new undefined name.

* test: drop the duplicate imports the sys.path sweep exposed to F811

* test(pre-call-utils): restore the os import the new bedrock tests need

test: unwind environment writes in tests/test_litellm with monkeypatch (#37806)
* test: use monkeypatch.setenv for env writes in tests/test_litellm

`os.environ["X"] = v` inside a test leaks the value into every test that runs
after it in the same worker, so ordering decides the result. 262 of those
writes across 40 files now go through pytest's `monkeypatch` fixture, which
restores the previous value at teardown.

The rewrite skips any test that a mock.patch-family decorator wraps, any test
with defaulted positional parameters, any test whose own name is called
directly elsewhere, and rebinds nothing inside nested defs, because in each of
those cases appending a fixture parameter changes what pytest or mock binds.

Ratchets the TQ004 ceiling from 768 to 506.

* fix(test): delete the key through monkeypatch instead of popping it first

Five tests popped a key straight out of `os.environ`, ran, then restored it with
`monkeypatch.setenv`. By the time monkeypatch saw the name it was already gone,
so it recorded "absent" as the value to go back to and deleted the key at
teardown. On a worker that inherited a real `RESEND_API_KEY`, `SENDGRID_API_KEY`,
`UI_PASSWORD`, `LITELLM_SALT_KEY` or `OPENAI_API_KEY`, every test after the first
one ran without it.

`monkeypatch.delenv(..., raising=False)` removes the key and restores whatever
was there, so the try/finally the manual restore needed goes with it.

* chore(test): leave the two cost-calc files to the PR that rewrites them fully

Both files are also in #37815, which converts the module-global writes as well
as the env writes and folds them into one fixture. Two PRs rewriting the same
lines differently is a conflict nobody benefits from resolving, so this one
drops back to staging on those two and keeps the other 39.

TQ004 clears 200 here instead of 275; the rest moves with #37815.

test: require a match= on broad pytest.raises, and drop duplicate parametrize cases (#37769)
`pytest.raises(Exception)` with no `match=` passes on any error that broad. A
TypeError from a refactor, a botched fixture, an import that moved: all of them
read as the rejection the test claims to police, so the test goes green for the
wrong reason and stays green after the behaviour it guards is gone.

PT011 closes that gap for the 317 sites B017 could not reach, because B017 only
fires on a single-statement body with no `as e` binding. Each pattern here is the
message the code actually raised, recorded by running the sites under a plugin
that logged the concrete type and text per call site, so the assertions describe
observed behaviour rather than a guess. Where a site raises more than one message
across its parametrize cases, the pattern is an alternation of what was seen;
where the exception carries an empty `str()` and puts the text on `.message`, the
site keeps a narrow `noqa` with the reason.

PT014 removes four parametrize cases that were listed twice. The duplicate re-runs
an assertion that already passed, and it usually marks a case someone meant to
vary and forgot to edit.

refactor(ui): point invitation links at the dedicated /onboarding route (#30857)
* refactor(ui): point invitation links at the dedicated /onboarding route

Invitation and reset-password links were built as /ui?invitation_id=..., which lands on the dashboard index and renders the onboarding form inline. They now point at the standalone /ui/onboarding route, so the index no longer has to special-case invitations. Old links keep working unchanged; the index still renders onboarding inline for ?invitation_id until the migration closeout removes that branch.

Updates the three generators (the enterprise email builder, bulk user create, and the invitation/reset-password modal) and extracts the modal's URL building into a pure, unit-tested buildOnboardingUrl

Refs LIT-3687

* refactor(ui): guard buildOnboardingUrl against a missing invitation id

Return "" instead of emitting an invitation_id=undefined link when the id is not yet available, matching the existing empty-baseUrl guard. Placed after the SSO branch so the SSO link, which does not use the id, is unaffected

fix: prevent duplicate budget alert emails on concurrent threshold crossings (#32011)
* fix: prevent duplicate budget alert emails on concurrent threshold crossings

Budget alert emails were sent more than once for a single threshold crossing. The email dedup guard read the "already sent" marker, awaited the send, then wrote the marker, so concurrent requests crossing the same threshold within the send window all saw no marker and each sent. This affected the multi-threshold path (default_key_max_budget_alert_emails), the legacy single-threshold path (EMAIL_BUDGET_ALERT_MAX_SPEND_ALERT_PERCENTAGE), and the soft budget path, all in EmailBaseCallback.budget_alerts

All three branches now claim the send slot atomically before sending via async_increment_cache, which is atomic per event loop for the in-memory cache and across workers via Redis INCR; only the caller that observes a count of 1 sends. On send failure the marker is released with async_delete_cache so a transient failure does not suppress the alert for the full 24h TTL

* fix: harden budget alert claim release and skip-path event allocation

Addresses review feedback on the claim-before-send change. The claim release in each send-failure handler now logs the send error first and releases the claim best-effort through a shared helper, so a transient cache error during async_delete_cache cannot propagate out of the fire-and-forget budget_alerts task, drop the send-failure log, and leave the claim stuck for the full 24h TTL. In the multi-threshold branch the increment claim now runs before the WebhookEvent is built, so skipped concurrent crossings no longer construct and discard the event, matching the single-threshold and soft budget branches

fix(tests): use canonical litellm_enterprise import path (#27699)
The enterprise package is installed as `litellm_enterprise` (per
enterprise/pyproject.toml), but several tests imported it as
`enterprise.litellm_enterprise.*` — a path that only resolves
because the repo root happens to sit on sys.path, letting Python's
implicit namespace package machinery discover `enterprise/` as a
directory.

This breaks any test runner that relocates source (e.g. the
mutation-testing workflow, which copies tests under `mutants/`) and
also caused two `patch()` strings to target a module path that does
not match what production code imports — meaning those mocks were
never actually patching the production module's attribute.

Replace `from enterprise.litellm_enterprise.` with the canonical
`from litellm_enterprise.` across 6 test files, and fix two
`patch()` target strings (and one `sys.modules` patch key in the
SSO test) to match.

feat: add configurable multi-threshold budget alerts for virtual keys
Users can set metadata.max_budget_alert_emails as a JSON map of threshold
percentages to email recipients on virtual keys. When configured, the email
handler loops over each threshold, checks per-threshold dedup cache, and
sends to the configured recipients (auto-including the key owner's email).

When no map is set, the existing single 80% threshold behavior is preserved
unchanged. Teams support is out of scope for this v0.

fix(tests): Fix sendgrid email tests to properly mock httpx client (#20628)
* fix(tests): Fix sendgrid email tests to properly mock httpx client

The tests were potentially hitting the real SendGrid API because the mock
was patching get_async_httpx_client() but the actual client could be cached
or the mock timing could be off.

Fix by directly replacing logger.async_httpx_client after instantiation,
which guarantees the mock is used regardless of caching or initialization
timing issues.

Changes:
- Replace mock_httpx_client fixture with simpler mock_async_client fixture
- Directly inject mock client into logger instance after creation
- Remove respx decorator (no longer needed with direct injection)
- Simplify test structure while maintaining same assertions

* fix(lint): remove unused imports from SendGrid test

litellm_fix_mapped_tests_core: fix test isolation and mock injection issues (#20209)
* litellm_fix_mapped_tests_core: fix test isolation and mock injection issues

## Problem
Four tests in litellm_mapped_tests_core were failing:
1. test_register_model_with_scientific_notation - KeyError due to test isolation issues
2. test_search_uses_registry_credentials - Mock not being called due to incorrect patch path
3. test_send_email_missing_api_key - Real API calls despite mocking
4. test_stream_transformation_error_sync - Mock not effective, real API called

## Solution

### test_register_model_with_scientific_notation
- Use unique model name to avoid conflicts with other tests
- Clear LRU caches before test to prevent stale data
- Clean up model_cost entry after test

### test_search_uses_registry_credentials
- Use patch.object() on the actual base_llm_http_handler instance
- String-based patching for instance methods can fail; direct object patching is more reliable

### test_send_email_missing_api_key
- Directly inject mock HTTP client into logger instance
- This bypasses any caching issues that could cause the fixture mock to be ineffective

### test_stream_transformation_error_sync
- Patch litellm.completion directly instead of the handler module's litellm reference
- This ensures the mock is effective regardless of import order

## Regression
These tests were affected by LRU caching added in #19606 and HTTP client caching.

* fix(test): use patch.object for container API tests to fix mock injection

## Problem
test_retrieve_container_basic tests were failing because mocks weren't
being applied correctly. The tests used string-based patching:
  patch('litellm.containers.main.base_llm_http_handler')

But base_llm_http_handler is imported at module level, so the mock wasn't
intercepting the actual handler calls, resulting in real HTTP requests
to OpenAI API.

## Solution
Use patch.object() to directly mock methods on the imported handler
instance. Import base_llm_http_handler in the test file and patch like:
  patch.object(base_llm_http_handler, 'container_retrieve_handler', ...)

This ensures the mock is applied to the actual object being used,
regardless of import order or caching.

* fix(test): add missing Prometheus metric labels to test_proxy_failure_metrics

Add client_ip, user_agent, model_id labels to expected metric patterns.
These labels were added in PRs #19717 and #19678 but test wasn't updated.

* fix(test_resend_email): use direct mock injection for all email tests

Extend the mock injection pattern used in test_send_email_missing_api_key
to all other tests in the file:
- test_send_email_success
- test_send_email_multiple_recipients

Instead of relying on fixture-based patching and respx mocks which can
fail due to import order and caching issues, directly inject the mock
HTTP client into the logger instance. This ensures mocks are always used
regardless of test execution order.

* fix(test): use patch.object for image_edit and vector_store tests

- test_image_edit_merges_headers_and_extra_headers: import base_llm_http_handler
and use patch.object instead of string path patching
- test_search_uses_registry_credentials: import module and patch via
module.base_llm_http_handler to ensure we patch the right instance

litellm_fix_mapped_tests_core: clear client cache and fix isinstance checks (#20196)
## Problem
Tests using mocked HTTP clients were hitting real APIs because:
1. HTTP client cache was returning previously cached real clients
2. isinstance checks failed due to module identity issues from sys.path

### Tests affected:
- test_send_email_missing_api_key
- test_send_email_multiple_recipients (resend & sendgrid)
- test_search_uses_registry_credentials
- test_vector_store_create_with_simple_provider_name
- test_vector_store_create_with_provider_api_type
- test_vector_store_create_with_ragflow_provider
- test_image_edit_merges_headers_and_extra_headers
- test_retrieve_container_basic (container API tests)

## Solution
1. Add clear_client_cache fixture (autouse=True) to clear
   litellm.in_memory_llm_clients_cache before each test
2. Fix isinstance checks to use type name comparison
(avoids module identity issues from sys.path.insert)

## Why not disable_aiohttp_transport
The default transport is aiohttp, so tests should work with it.
Clearing the cache ensures mocks are used instead of cached real clients.

## Regression
PR #19829 (commit f95572e3ed) added @respx.mock but cached clients
from earlier tests were being reused, bypassing the mocks.

Fix broken mocks in 6 flaky tests to prevent real API calls (#19829)
* Fix broken mocks in 6 flaky tests to prevent real API calls

Added network-level HTTP blocking using respx to prevent tests from making real API calls when Python-level mocks fail. This makes tests more reliable and retryable in CI.

Changes:

- Azure OIDC test: Added Azure Identity SDK mock to prevent real Azure calls

- Vector store test: Added @respx.mock decorator to block HTTP requests

- Resend email tests (3): Added @respx.mock decorator for all 3 test functions

- SendGrid email test: Added @respx.mock decorator

All test assertions and verification logic remain unchanged - only added safety nets to catch leaked API calls.

* Fix failing OIDC secret manager tests

Fixed two test failures in test_secret_managers_main.py:

1. test_oidc_azure_ad_token_success: Corrected the patch path for get_bearer_token_provider from 'litellm.secret_managers.get_azure_ad_token_provider.get_bearer_token_provider' to 'azure.identity.get_bearer_token_provider' since the function is imported from azure.identity.

2. test_oidc_google_success: Added @patch('httpx.Client') decorator to prevent any real HTTP connections during test execution, resolving httpx.ConnectError issues.

Both tests now pass successfully.

* fix: add host_progress_callback parameter to mock_call_tool in test

The test_call_tool_without_broken_pipe_error was failing because the mock function did not accept the host_progress_callback keyword argument that the actual implementation passes to client.call_tool(). Updated the mock to accept this parameter to match the real implementation signature.
