From 19c62b8b35dd3dcc4725a1c7395eedd1fb3fe961 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: James Liounis Date: Fri, 21 Aug 2026 15:38:00 -0400 Subject: [PATCH 1/5] fix(cost): charge input_cost_per_request in the generic cost path The cost map has carried an input_cost_per_request key for a long time, but no code on the generic path reads it: generic_cost_per_token never adds it, and cost_per_token's generic fallback treats a model priced only per request as having no pricing at all and returns zero. Any provider on the generic path with flat per-request pricing therefore tracks $0 spend. This adds the key to ModelInfo, charges it in generic_cost_per_token on top of any token pricing, and admits it to the generic fallback's guard. Providers with a dedicated cost_per_token branch (perplexity's online models, for example) do not route through this path and are unaffected. --- litellm/cost_calculator.py | 1 + LLM provider (responses, chat, messages) Parallel AI is registered as a search-only provider today, so its OpenAI Responses-compatible endpoint is unreachable through the gateway: routing parallel_ai/parallel to /v1/responses, /v1/chat/completions or /v1/messages fails with 'LLM Provider NOT provided'. Registers parallel_ai as an LLM provider with a native Responses API config. completion() and /v1/messages are served through the existing responses bridge. Parallel exposes one model whose performance tier is selected by reasoning.effort, so cost tracking resolves the priced model from the effective effort, and parallel-low / -medium / -high aliases pin a tier and bill at its own published rate. A server-configured key is never forwarded to a caller-supplied api_base; an explicit api_key is required when overriding the base, matching the trust model the search adapter already uses. --- James Liounis Date: Fri, 21 Aug 2026 16:08:28 -0400 Subject: [PATCH 4/5] feat(parallel_ai): add a native Extract pass-through with cost tracking Parallel's /v1/extract endpoint has no equivalent in any unified LiteLLM surface: it takes a URL list and returns per-URL excerpts and full content, with partial success reported as a parallel errors array. Forcing it into the search or responses shape would lose that response. Adds it as a pass-through at /parallel_ai/v1/extract so the request and response cross unchanged, with the gateway supplying the provider credential. The success handler prices the call from the URLs the provider reports as billed, falling back to the requested URL count when usage is absent, so extract traffic is attributed rather than logged at $0. Adding a route adds one FastAPI Depends() default, so the B008 ceiling moves by one. --- litellm/llms/parallel_ai/extract/__init__.py | 6 + .../parallel_ai/extract/cost_calculator.py | 73 +++++++ From: James Liounis Date: Fri, 21 Aug 2026 17:00:34 -0400 Subject: [PATCH 5/5] fix(parallel_ai): register the extract route with the gateway allowlist and types Three CI failures from adding the route: - test_gateway_plus_backend_covers_full_app requires every app route to be exposed by a component; /parallel_ai/ joins the pass-through prefixes. - The route appears in the proxy OpenAPI spec, so the dashboard types gain the path and its operation. - tests/.../parallel_ai/extract/ had no __init__.py while its parent package does, so pytest named the module by basename alone and it collided with fal_ai/test_cost_calculator.py. --- gateway/routes/allowlist.py | 1 + .../llms/parallel_ai/extract/__init__.py | 0 ui/litellm-dashboard/src/lib/http/schema.d.ts | 37 +++++++++++++++++++ 3 files
