From d8a1ad7e18ceac972a568b205888caeede346cd0 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: akashkathole7 Date: Mon, 22 Jun 2026 17:31:10 +0530 Subject: [PATCH] chore(otel-v2): drop dead enable_events config field LITELLM_OTEL_INTEGRATION_ENABLE_EVENTS was never read in the V2 package; event emission is driven by capture_message_content (event_only / span_and_event) per the OTel ContentCapturingMode contract. Leaving the field would let an operator set it and silently get no events. The V1 integration keeps its own enable_events on OpenTelemetryConfig, which is unaffected. extra="ignore" means a stale env var is harmlessly ignored rather than erroring. --- litellm/integrations/otel/model/config.py | 4 ---- 1 file changed, 4 deletions(-) diff --git a/litellm/integrations/otel/model/config.py b/litellm/integrations/otel/model/config.py index b362f4ed043..23c56c8384f 100644 --- a/litellm/integrations/otel/model/config.py +++ b/litellm/integrations/otel/model/config.py @@ -127,10 +127,6 @@ class OpenTelemetryV2Config(BaseSettings): default=False, validation_alias=AliasChoices("LITELLM_OTEL_INTEGRATION_ENABLE_METRICS"), ) - enable_events: bool = Field( - default=False, - validation_alias=AliasChoices("LITELLM_OTEL_INTEGRATION_ENABLE_EVENTS"), - ) capture_message_content: str = Field( default=CaptureMessageContent.NO_CONTENT, validation_alias=AliasChoices(
