## Attractor
Arc was inspired by [Attractor](https://github.com/strongdm/attractor), created by [Justin McCarthy](https://github.com/strongdm) at [StrongDM](https://www.strongdm.com/). Attractor pioneered the idea of orchestrating AI coding agents with graph-based workflows, and its design deeply influenced Arc's architecture.
## AI research and labs
Arc is built on top of the large language models produced by leading AI research labs, including [Anthropic](https://www.anthropic.com/), [OpenAI](https://openai.com/), and [Google DeepMind](https://deepmind.google/). Their foundational work in AI research and model development makes agentic coding workflows possible. Arc wouldn't exist without the breakthroughs these teams and the broader AI research community have achieved.
