# Django Issue #30179 - MediaOrderConflictWarning Fix

## Problem
When merging 3 or more form media objects, Django can throw unnecessary `MediaOrderConflictWarnings` even when no actual conflict exists. Additionally, the resulting media order can be worse than the "naive" result from Django 1.11.

### Example
```python
from django import forms
class ColorPicker(forms.Widget):
 class Media:
 js = ['color-picker.js']
class SimpleTextWidget(forms.Widget):
 class Media:
 js = ['text-editor.js']
class FancyTextWidget(forms.Widget):
 class Media:
 js = ['text-editor.js', 'text-editor-extras.js', 'color-picker.js']
class MyForm(forms.Form):
 background_color = forms.CharField(widget=ColorPicker())
 intro = forms.CharField(widget=SimpleTextWidget())
 body = forms.CharField(widget=FancyTextWidget())
# This incorrectly warns about a conflict and produces wrong ordering:
# Media(css={}, js=['text-editor-extras.js', 'color-picker.js', 'text-editor.js'])
```

## Root Cause
The problem occurs because Django 2.0+ uses pairwise merging of media lists:
1. `ColorPicker().media + SimpleTextWidget().media` → `['color-picker.js', 'text-editor.js']`
 - This artificially establishes that `color-picker.js` must appear before `text-editor.js`
2. When this is merged with `FancyTextWidget().media` which requires `['text-editor.js', 'text-editor-extras.js', 'color-picker.js']`, a false conflict is detected

## Solution
Replace pairwise merging with **topological sorting** that merges all lists simultaneously.

### Key Changes to `django/forms/widgets.py`:

1. **Change the `_js` property** to merge all lists at once:
```python
@property
def _js(self):
 return self.merge(*self._js_lists)
```

2. **Change the `_css` property** to merge all CSS lists simultaneously:
```python
@property
def _css(self):
 css = defaultdict(list)
 for css_list in self._css_lists:
 for medium, sublist in css_list.items():
 css[medium].append(sublist)
 return {medium: self.merge(*lists) for medium, lists in css.items()}
```

3. **Update the `merge()` method** to accept multiple lists and use topological sorting:
```python
@staticmethod
def merge(*lists):
 """
 Merge lists while trying to keep the relative order of the elements.
 Warn if the lists have the same elements in a different relative order.
 """
 dependency_graph = defaultdict(set)
 all_items = OrderedSet()
 for list_ in filter(None, lists):
 head = list_[0]
 # The first items depend on nothing but have to be part of the
 # dependency graph to be included in the result.
 dependency_graph.setdefault(head, set())
 for item in list_:
 all_items.add(item)
 # No self dependencies
 if head != item:
 dependency_graph[item].add(head)
 head = item
 try:
 return stable_topological_sort(all_items, dependency_graph)
 except CyclicDependencyError:
 warnings.warn(
 'Detected duplicate Media files in an opposite order: {}'.format(
 ', '.join(repr(l) for l in lists)
 ), MediaOrderConflictWarning,
 )
 return list(all_items)
```

### How It Works
1. **Build a dependency graph**: For each list, create edges where each element depends on the element that precedes it
2. **Extract all items**: Deduplicate items while preserving first-encounter order
3. **Topologically sort**: Use stable topological sort to produce a valid ordering that respects all dependencies
4. **Handle cycles**: If a true cycle exists (actual conflict), warn the user

### Benefits
- ✅ Eliminates false `MediaOrderConflictWarning`s
- ✅ Produces correct ordering for the example case: `['text-editor.js', 'text-editor-extras.js', 'color-picker.js']`
- ✅ Still properly detects and warns about genuine dependency cycles
- ✅ Backward compatible - existing code continues to work

### Testing
The fix includes test cases for:
- Three-way merges without conflicts
- Complex multi-item merges
- Actual conflict detection
- CSS media merging
