The initial checkpoint has no message in clineMessages (ts=0 doesn't exist),
so checkpointRestore was returning early without doing anything.
Now when isInitial=true is passed in the restore payload, the handler
calls checkpointRestoreToBase() instead which properly restores to the
baseHash without needing to find a message.
Show the initial checkpoint (workspace state at task start) as a fixed UI element
at the top of the chat, with visual states for pending/ready/failed.
This replaces the previous approach of a header button and provides better UX:
- Pending state: greyed out with spinner while initializing
- Ready state: full color with restore/diff menu options
- Failed state: warning styling with error indication
Changes:
- Add initialCheckpointState and initialCheckpointHash to extension state
- New InitialCheckpoint component with three visual states
- CheckpointMenu now supports isInitial prop to hide irrelevant options
- Backend emits state transitions instead of messages
fix: prevent false validation error for local Ollama models
The validation logic was checking against an empty router models object
that was initialized but never populated for Ollama. This caused false
validation errors even when models existed locally.
Now only validates against router models if they actually contain data,
preventing the false error when using local Ollama models.

originating model can properly understand and summarize.

When switching between VS Code workspaces, if the current mode from
workspace A is not available in workspace B, the mode selector would
show an empty string. This fix adds fallback logic to automatically
switch to the default "code" mode when the current mode is not found
in the available modes list.

mode is not available and automatically switch to default mode
