The @param name pattern [\w.]*\w[\w.]* backtracks quadratically on a long name followed by anything but a blank (32,000 characters took about half a second per line), and parseRQualifier's lazy [\s\S]*? does the same on a long run of blanks. Match [\w.]+ and require a word character separately, and take the text before the first '::' directly. Accepted inputs and results are unchanged (checked against the old patterns on two million generated strings). Tests cover large adversarial inputs and the dotted formal names. |
