A constructor write to a name no scope declares (`client = new ApiClient()` in sloppy JavaScript) declares nothing, so the lookup stays absent. The carried constructor fact was dropped on that exit, which lost the receiver type main had inferred for later reads in the writing scope. The absent result now carries it, and findReceiverTypeBinding uses it before the namespace fallbacks. Only complete-claim providers carry such a fact. Tests pin the carried type per inferred source, the undeclared write, and preservePosition across a module redirect. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |
